  1. Great info, thx! Do you have photos of all or some of those, Jim?
  2. Arrrgghhh!!! Never seen THAT plane before. You are right - ugly as a toad.
  3. My dad told me that attacking DeHavilland "Mosquito" were feared by the German soldiers. When I watch this video, I understand why.
  4. Those are fine words of you, Lieutenant Hauksbee - I'll have an "Old Speckled Hen" and drink it on Widowmaker! Cheers!
  5. Well, the Verdun forts are there - maybe there is something going on at Verdun at the right time?
  6. Typically BOC members discussion here - Mmuahahahahaaa!!!
  7. Gee, the work of "Genius" looks quite good in many parts. Thank you for sharing, jeanba.
  8. Maybe he said 4 months - is that more likely?
  9. Maybe I remember the time wrong. You seem to know about 3D model building? How long would you say it takes? If you are a 3D model builder - the OBD Team might welcome your help on French aircraft?
  10. Not sure about the variety of the SPAD 7 and SPAD 13 - maybe WOFF already has differing power versions? You could check with LABELS on - there are several LABEL versions, one is "Identity" - one of them should show what type the aircraft is. I read that building an aircraft model with full functionality of all parts, incl. cockpit and gauges, takes 1 - 2 months. It must be a nervewrecking work, with constantly checking ingame, and changing and modifying. So I guess we could be happy, if we received 2 French two-seaters for a start. Which ones would you want to see first?
  11. Thanks for the info, jeanba - I never got "First Eagles", so I didn't know that. The OBD Devs announced only recently, that they have something in the works - who knows, it might be French 2-seaters? You are absolutely right, and they were requested many times. Personally, I would love to see the Caudron G.IV (for the earlier war, and for it's unique look) and the Breguet for later on. And I bet, the devs themselves want those planes in WOFF - so let us not loose hope.
  12. ...and to have you back, CaptSopwith! You remind me: I should ask all newbies to send me a PM with their locations - I guess some are not on the maps yet.
  13. Well, however many percent of the "full" theater - WOFF definitely offers the HIGHEST percentage available these days, IMHO. (I'm not trying to make RoF down, by the way - I own and fly it myself, and I find it great for online multiplayer simming.)
  14. ...and boys they really often were. But they had to grow up within weeks. And they did.
  15. Well, the MiG-3 looks at least sexy to me (That is, by the way, a Sopwith Snipe in Widow's signature).
  16. Hey, now that's good news - nice to 'see' you, Widowmaker! Some of us are trying hard to give this place new breath - for me it wouldn't be a problem to visit both places.
  17. The Gotha's pusher props at least were low enough for the ground crew to reach them, as this original footage shows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqq8qx5Jg80
  18. I said it in the other forum before: Great review and screenshots, CaptSopwith! Yes, it is hard to survive at the beginning. Best is you act and behave like it could cost your real life - mind you, you will have to strain your neck more than a little bit. WOFF can produce fear in the human pilot - a real thriller!
  19. No problem, Hauksbee - I often have such Déja-vus myself, though I am younger than you.
  20. What those young men accomplished was incredible - they often had to fly so many sorties, that some of them fell asleep right after bringing their fighters down to the airfield. While the Spitfire was the beautiful glamour girl, the Hawker Hurricane was the "Cinderella" in the Battle of Britain; she was the 'workhorse' that shot down the majority of German planes. Here is a nice video with a Hurricane performing loopings at an airshow. Hello, Widowmaker! Pls come back to the WOFF forum - I miss your "Woof, woof!" and ranting!
  21. The basics of the landscape, like rivers or cities, are AFAIK the original CFS3 landmarks. I found several times, that roads and rivers seemed to match quite well with reality. You can try that out by pausing over a bridge, and then noting the longitude/latitude data from the F5 text or the inflight map. When you compare that to GoogleMaps satelite view, you may really find that road crossing that river. What definitely does not match are the towns and cities - they often seem to be too far to the south-east.
  22. Small company - big achievements. I guess the RoF crew was much bigger, but they didn't yet create as much as OBD did. Not to speak of the public relations. Here OBD was also always sober and clear, and they rather kept quiet than promising too much.
  23. Weren' they always like this? And in the end, after "two weeks", they always delivered.
  24. Great news, whatever it may be. They said some time ago, that they wanted to build some of the known historical airfields, as they really looked. That would be great to have, and my personal wish & guess.
