  1. Someone said that track ir 6 would be out soon. True or not? Would it be an upgrade from 5, and worth holding off buying 5 now? Thanks for you input. CW3SF
  2. I am playing OFF with HITR patched up to 1.47and have been having very few issues until a few days ago. This small box with " Run time error 76 Path not found " comes up and no matter what is clicked on it crashes to the desk top. Most times a restart of OFF goes just fine " all is good for the rest of the time flying". Just a short while ago the game crashed on Three succesive tries. What can be done about this???
  3. After several years of playing this game -- with very few ,if any, issues a new one jumped up a few weeks ago. When I start in campaign mode ( my normal place to go ) and get to the last load screen it does not load and place me in my plane ready to take off. The very small blue circle rotates for a very long time ( made a cup of tea once ) and never loads. After escaping and going through the restart prcedure for the second time it loads as usual and off I go flying as usual. Is something any one else has had experience with? Should I become concered that future issues will creap into the game? I am running Win 7 64bit with a super high end gaming computer that several of you "GREAT FOLKS" helped me design last year. This is a very friendly site of all of those I frequent. Thanks
  4. I reset both files and all is WELL NOW. Thanks
  5. I think I'll hold off until some of you pass judgement on it. Worth the time and Safe or Not safe so far as gremlins go.
  6. Back in the 1950's I had several rides in a PT 17 and do remember the engine and wind sounds. From what my old brain remembers, the noise was so loud that hearing anything else around would have been imposable. We had our leather helmets on which also dampened the sound. While increasing speed in a dive the pilot would cut the RPM and then the wind and wire noise did sound "cool". Having several parachute jumps( most of them HALO and with round canopies---- I did say I was old right ) the sound during the free fall is very loud but after opening it gets very quiet and you can hear more from the ground then you think you ever would.
  7. thanks to combatace

This is a great place and even if I get a little "hot under the collar" the top guns only spank me enough to set me straight and then point me to the right place to solve my issue. If you want to visit some unfriendly sights, they are most of the others. Try the Sub hunter bunch, Civ 5, on the worst by far Steam ( that all seeing and knowing thing in the sky). And just why did we get asked to leave the other site?
  8. The "pending release" of P4...

No, it must be 12 April -- my 75th birthday-- now that would be perfect!
  9. I had to do a complete uninstall and reinstall and I am flying now . But I have a slower Hard drive as drive C for windows 7 ( it must be in C I was told ) and I have a super fast SSD for my games. However I could never get CF3 to install into my D drive ( the fast SSD ). How can I get CF3 to install into my SSD "D" drive? All of the other add on stuff, BTHH and HITR and their downloads can very easly be redirected into the D drive. Last week I got a little hot under the collar when I came up with a bad pathway glitch and found out that it was that CF3 was in C and all the rest was in D. Everything worked for a while but soon died as a pathway 76 error----- CTDT. Thanks
  10. All is well and all are in Drive D. Running at 1900 X1200 with 4 samples and a color setting of 32. The settings within the game are 553353 and showing about 58 t0 61 FPS most of the time. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!
  11. Thank you very much. I will give that a try ASAP.
  12. How did you do that? I tried and could not find a way to do that. Please give very clear and complete instructions. I am really not a GURU in any way shape or matter. Thanks
  13. HITR

Can I install HITR with out downloading the 1.32 and 1.32G patches?? And I Guess---- why in the world was the two patches for BH&H not incluided in the DISK for HITR. Love DISK and sure hope P4 will have all of everything one a DISK. Thanks
  14. Run time error 76 ?

First off ( not OFF-- punt not intended ) I am sorry to have lost my cool. But then, at my age -not a lot of time or cool left in the tank. I went to work with your ideas and will let you know about the outcome ASAP. Thanks
  15. Run time error 76 ?

I would like somw input here!!!! Like my game CTD !!
  16. Doing It For Real

Check out the local Airports for rides on days arround the 4th of July ( here in the USA) where if you help out a free ride in a PT-17 can be had as you reward for helping out for those few days. One very cool airplane. That always happens at the air show days in Steamboat Springs Colorado arround the 4th of July. The last few years they have also had a B-25, and a TBF. I can remember my first one in a BT-13 after helping the pilot wash it allong with some other work. That was in 1952.
  17. Just a few moments ago I was about done flying, but saw a" sitting duck 2 seater" and shot it down in flames. Seeing both jump out of the plane I followed them down and saw both were in the perfect HALO "frog body position" for a stable free fall. Not only that they were falling at about 100MPH. The slowest I could fall was 105 MPH. Congrats to the folks who did the programing on this very cool effect. Had you programed those falling to use the delta position, the ground would have come up to meet them about twice as fast.
  18. Non War Bi Planes

Look at those FOUR ailerons--- What is the roll rate? Looks like a fun plane to fly. Did not see any trimtabs-- does it have tabs? Is the a lycoming 4 banger up front? In my youth I had some time in a PT-19 ( only one wing ) but looked sorta like that.
  19. I bought the Hat in the Ring Exp. on 23 Nov 2011 and do to my inept efforts I could not buy the insurance and almost lost my $$. But I think it was Olham who felt pity on this very old warrior and I got the download info and it was great. However; soon there after my computer crashed and had to be sent back to Origin for a fix. Some how a virus had trashed my OS and other files ---so thier approch was to erase all of the hard drives and reinstall Win 7 and ship it back. So here I sit trying to get back to my games. CFS-3 and the BHaH loaded just fine ( LOVE DISK ). I will only say that one of my other favorate games ( CIV-5 ) which uses Steam is going to be a bloody long mess to get it back. To the point--- Is there any way to get my HITR to download. I just tried and it said that the time had expired. Some day maybe P4 will come as a DISK and will include HITR. Thanks CW3SF
  20. Been flying about an hour or two most days now and thought of what was lacking, but easily fixed. My early duty stations in the USAF ( 1954 to 60 ) were with the 366th FBW, 51th FIW, and the 52th HBW, and being a Rescue/Survival Specialist. Teaching the crews in the field for several days or picking them up after they "hit the silk" put me in a unique position to hear a lot of very good stories and tall tales. Those involving combat most always revolved around a weakness of the enemy plane. They always wanted more information on what the enemy airplanes strong and weak points were. The old hands told of how they delt with the Mig 15 during Korea and the intel officer would offer up what he had heard about other planes. We lack this information in the duty room, need a "pilots lounge" were information is exchanged about the enemy planes you may face. Can it out turn ourplane, climb rate, one gun or two, and what ever else is needed. It would make very interesting reading. The squadron duty board list each flight assignment for the day along with the call sign and other information. Every one knows who is with them--- but to be sure no one knows any ones middle name. After returning the flight leader and his flight members sit down with the Intel. officer to report on what action they saw and confirm or not just who did what. Other flights could offer up what ever they observed. An of course no conformation no kill. Filling out the report, for me, is way to much paperwork . Why should I copy down each flight member on a piece of paper so I can fill out the report when all is needed to say "My Flight Members". A better method would be to automaticaly place the names at the top and then let me fill in the events as they happened. Just my dimes worth
  21. Of all the flight sims I have enjoyed over the past 15 years or more nothing equals the B17 mighty eight as the best in every way. It had a unique sub program that let the "game player" ( us ) improve a crew members rating-- but only if we did a very good job at that task. Having to leave your crew position to help an injured man was unique to only this sim. If he survived, you got a valued crew member back, if not here comes a rookie. Sure would be nice if in P4 there was some way to train our wingman how to shoot and follow directions. Just my dimes worth.
  22. OT: 2012 Is The Year I Do It

You have a long journey ahead of you --- VERY LONG !! But keep at it and do a variety of activities and by all means hydrate, lots and lots of water. I'll be 75 this April and hiking has been my way of keeping in shape ( 175 lbs & 6 feet ) while eating most anything in view. My buddy and I try to get in two hikes a week of 9 miles and 2000 feet of elevation gain while carrying the same pack we hunt with in Colorado. That comes to about 7000 plus calories left on the trail. Which means we can eat a large portions and stay the same weight-- so long as we keep hiking. Chocolate and red wine is great. Start out slow and steady. Weigh yourself at the same time each day ( just after you get up in the morning is the best ). Many of my friends fail because they push to hard , suffer sore muscles and cut out way more food than is correct. It sounds like you may be going down that road of much to hard to fast and set up for failure---- I hope not. Take a tally of what you eat now over a week and see just what you can do without or change. Light beer anyone? A protein shake after a workout is a great Idea but only if your workout used more calories than the shake has in it. The much needed protein is absorbed quickly to help the muscle tissue in the healing process. Try to find a doctor that is "into exercise and diet" ( the doc should look the part ) and get a complete work up. Learn what you heart beat rate should be at the best exercise level and keep track of it. We are talking getting involved here, not just cutting out a beer every now and then ane walking around the block once in a while. Good Luck
  23. OT: Back in two weeks

Those shellfish look like "mud bugs" ( Crayfish or Crawdads ) and not shrimp. Am I right or wrong? The only good German food we have found outside of Germany was in Slovang California a few years ago. Eat well and ENJOY!!!
  24. 50th Birthday today

In American "speek" you are starting your third quarter. Have a great day. Take good care of your self. Next year I start the last quarter ( 75 in April ). Live each day like there will be no more--- You never know.
  25. OT....New CFS3 mod released

IL-2 1946 has all of the WW2 action. Russia, Pacific, ... ! Try taking off a carrier in a F4U Corsair--- "The ensign elimanator".
