  1. Mirage IV A alternate data file

    Version

    230 downloads

This is an alternate file for the Mirage IV A previously released by Veltro2K. Credit goes to him : ) The original 3D model is not available anymore!!! so => Don't download this file ...unless you're a dinosaur and already have the damn LOD First, back up the original data file then, read the readme This is an updated file, better than the previous one (lol) - Landing gears and fuel tanks are almost ok. - New flight model, tested on WOE 06 & 08. Freeware only, not to be sold in any way!
  2. Of course, you're right! I scrolled down the Out file with the Hex editor, and I think there's a huge amount of meshes to remove. Maybe when you remove a "main mesh" the little ones go away with it? (Remove the frame and the rivets disappear with it?) The "open cockpit" entry doesn't work with WOV/E, only with WOI if I got it right. (I tried that because of FastCargo ThunderWarrior thread), so it might be necessary to keep the frame for WOV/E installs.
  3. Mirage IV A

  4. Well in fact, it was a sort of temporary file, to make the bird fly. It isn't really finished. I've started a thread in the French section, to improve the MirageIV. If you have some entries to communicate that will be helpfull! (in english, who cares?) Don't see this as the final file, it's more a start and it needs updates. I've just done the easy part, put the real figures I found about the MirageIV. I don't know about the CG, it's there because of the landing gears location. All has been explain by Derk, you're an expert! ...and the landing gear was a big pain in the @§$% , and just works enough for now, it still needs some tweaks. Sorry for the incomplete info, I'll be more precise another time. Cliff

  6. I hope there will be the LeO 45...
  7. Delta and two seater!!! I love the belgian camo, I agree that Mirage 5BD is awesome.
  8. This is a A6/R1 variant. The more I test it the better it gets IMVHO. Any comment?
  9. Happy Birthday Slartibartfast

Happy Birthday mate Enjoy life, sun/girls/booze!
  10. Johnathan Sykes is the DID pilot who survived the longuest, amongst all of our characteres. He's the ThirdWire DID champion.
  11. "One of the big reasons for that, is because of Veltro2k." You're so right Lexx!!! Thank you Veltro2k and the others!
  12. 16th mission Capt Sean Rosewood 87th FIS, Wiesbaden-Erbenheim – F-106A Delta Dart 11/16/68 Take off : 15.30 – Landing : 16.36 Target : Alt-Lönnewitz, Sweep 1 MiG-17 Ford 11 : Capt Sean Rosewood Ford 12 : 2Lt Kelly Wells Report : Major Howerton told me to follow the orders from tactical control because when Jerry Watson was shot down yesterday, I’ve already received the RTB call and have decided myself to carry on with the pursuit. It doesn’t make me the culprit about the loss of the pilot and his jet fighter but I was the flight chief. 2Lt Kelly Wells is my number two and I know that it is some kind of test, I must bring back that guy with me safely. Sweep over Alt-Lönnewitz, we’re going to hunt them over their lines. I was climbing just after take off when I noticed an Hercules flying low. It’s not the first time, I have to pay attention to them to avoid a collision. We reached way point 2 and were tasked to engage some bandits 50 miles ahead. Set a course, had a lock on the scope, and then “SAM launch! SAM launch!” Told Wells to break up and made a vertical dive from level 20 to the deck, full AB! After I’ve leveled at 500 ft, I tried to re-lock on the bandits and I made a big mistake! I got a lock, told Wells to join up and pushed hard to catch up the bandits. Something was wrong, we were heading to South-West, while the bandits were 50 miles to the North before we broke up… I asked to control who were they? They were Dagger flight, Air Force F-4 Phantoms. F…! We made a u turn and started once again a research. Hopefully, I located a bandit, had a lock, and launched an AIM-4F (no heat seekers in the weapon bay today). As the bandit was hit by the missile, I saw that the pilot ejected successfully. I thought “Winner but not killer”, if the guy survived… Guided by the control, we pushed a bit further to the North but I gave up because of fuel consumption. We headed back to the base, knowing that my mistake had surely made the mission failed. We landed without problem, and I must recognize that 2Lt Kelly Wells had a very professional behavior on this mission, obeying the orders with a total mastering of his plane and a strong sens of responsibility about his duty. He was a perfect wingman today and deserves to be chosen as number 2 for combat missions over enemy territory. That wasn’t what I was thinking 3 days ago! _
  13. New 3D model, available very soon, within 2 weeks. Just few problems to solve, lateral stability and black smoke :)
  14. Even knowing that, I was disapointed when I saw that there wasn't the aerial nuke effect for the AIR-2 Genie nuclear rocket. It would have been cool to fly with it in the weapon bay. Illegal stuffs are always tempting... 15th mission Capt Sean Rosewood 87th FIS, Wiesbaden-Erbenheim – F-106A Delta Dart 11/15/68 Take off : 15.12 – Landing : 15.30 Target : Rhein-Main, Intercept 1 Su-7, 1 Yak-28 Ramrod 11 : Capt Sean Rosewood Ramrod 12 : 2Lt Jerry Watson Report : Bad day! We took off for an intercept over Rhein. Jerry Watson and I were on alert. It was a short range flight, near from the base, so we had to be quick and we didn’t have to climb in altitude. There were too many calls at the same time so I waited for asking intercept azimuth and altitude. In fact, it was a well organized raid with bombers and fighters and we were tasked to engage the bombers from the North. We crossed the path of a lonely Il-28 and let him behind. We quickly encountered our targets, 2 Su-7, a simple turn and I was in the tail of the first. I launched my SuperFalcon, it hit the ground. I chose to launch the AIM-4Gs while Jerry was behind, both of them went wide. Then I launched the AIM-4Fs, and the second shot the Sukhoi down. I ordered Jerry to take out the second one and he answered roger. As he was flying in his 6 and wasn’t launching anything I repeated the call and he answered “two’s engaged offensive, 1 mile, low”. But he wasn’t shooting yet. I repeated once again and didn’t have any answer… I checked all around and was warned that there was a MiG behind me. I cranked the AB up and reached 700 knots. I made a large turn and went on a direct approach. There was a MiG on port (maybe the same?) but it didn’t engage me while I made the approach. The mission wasn’t really successfull. The second Su-7 dropped his bombs over Rhein and 2Lt Jerry Watson was reported KIA. I feel responsible but don’t know what went wrong. Later, I was told that one of my AIM-4G did shot down a Yak-28 Brewer. This guy was flying ahead of us and was hit by one of my missed shots. That’s good news, but what if it had not been a Yak?
  15. Good luck for your non-DID campaign! Be back soon ;)
  16. I think I spend hours of fun flying this one. I'll wait for it!
  17. Hi guys! I'm wondering if a normal combat mission would not be a disaster narrowly avoided or partially avoided? Anyway : 14th mission Capt Sean Rosewood 87th FIS, Wiesbaden-Erbenheim – F-106A Delta Dart 11/14/68 Take off : 14.51 – Landing : 15.51 Target : Spangdahlem, Intercept 1 IL-28, 1 MiG-19 Python 11 : Capt Sean Rosewood Python 12 : 2Lt Gerald Day Python 13 : Capt Rolland Kullman Python 14 : 2Lt Billy Pickett Report : Scramble alert, we take off to intercept an enemy raid. Their target seems to be Spangdahlem AB. I decided to take 2Lt Pickett with us… Once airborne, I called and asked for the intercept parameters, and the answer was the bandits were 20 miles from Wiesbaden AB! I forgot the flight plan and set a direct course to them. I still don’t know if it was the right thing to do. I soon had a lock on them and prepared to launch the AIM-4Fs. I crossed the path of a C-130 Hercules on the deck (!!!), and felt really surprised and ill at ease. I checked my lock and fired the first AIM-4F only five minutes after the take off. The Il-28 blown out and I slowed down not to overtake the other Beagle. I launched my second AIM-4F but it missed. I had a lock with an AIM-4G and this one went in the trees… I heard on the radio that someone was in trouble… I asked Python 12 to check status and had no answer, F…! Kullman told me there was MiG-19s in the area. The debriefing revealed those MiGs were attacking Pferdsfeld AB. And now one of them is after us. Python 13 and I were ahead of the MiG, but Python 14 was in his 6. I decided to be the prey and Billy will engage the hunter, so I kept my speed, and called Billy to help us. And Billy never answered… Kullman and I were close to each other and no-one of us didn’t want to let the other alone, with the MiG on his tail. I changed my plan and started a wide turn to go over Ramstein AB. The AAA would help us to deal with the MiG. As soon as I entered the Ramstein aera, with Kullman on my side, the MiG broke up. I called for Python 14 to join up and a terrible feel of anger had warmed up my temper. This MiG almost got us, and maybe he’s the one that shot down Gerald. All right! I’m after him! I pushed hard and tried to make the damn radar to work. I was really pissed! After I made stupid errors with my switches I had a lock and I still had my AIM-26B to launch. The MiG was turning, so I waited to be the closest as possible to the best angle. The problem was the damn pilot could see me so I fired my SuperFalcon and I stared at it while it was flying to its target. It seemed to be forever before the missile hit the MiG and I saw its pilot under his chute, coming down safely to the ground. 2Lt Gerald Day successfully bailed out over Kaiserslautern and is safe and back among us. Excepting me, nobody shot a single missile, I can’t believe that… Good luck to all! And be wise ;)
  18. Hi :) I like the F-4J, and decided to add the green/orange/red approach lights used by the LSO during a landing on the carrier. I guess the real device works only if you see only one light at a time (something like that) but it's just for the fun to add those lights. In fact, they're totally useless in the game! :D SystemName[XXX]=NoseLight SystemName[XXX]=ApproachGreenLight SystemName[XXX]=ApproachOrangeLight SystemName[XXX]=ApproachRedLight [NoseLight] SystemType=LIGHT Position=0.044,7.71,-1.26 LightSrcOffset=2.6046,49.0560,3.50 Color=0.66,0.66,0.6 Brightness=0.075 LightSrcRange=150 LightRange=45.0 CanFlash=FALSE IsLandingLight=TRUE [ApproachGreenLight] SystemType=LIGHT Position=-0.044,7.70,-1.20 LightSrcOffset=0.00,0.0,-1.50 Color=0.25,0.88,0.25 Brightness=0.025 LightSrcRange=0.03 CanFlash=FALSE IsLandingLight=TRUE [ApproachOrangeLight] SystemType=LIGHT Position=-0.044,7.70,-1.265 LightSrcOffset=0.00,0.0,-1.50 Color=0.88,0.66,0.25 Brightness=0.025 LightSrcRange=0.03 CanFlash=FALSE IsLandingLight=TRUE [ApproachRedLight] SystemType=LIGHT Position=-0.044,7.70,-1.33 LightSrcOffset=0.00,0.0,-1.50 Color=0.98,0.25,0.25 Brightness=0.025 LightSrcRange=0.03 CanFlash=FALSE IsLandingLight=TRUE One more thing : it won't work with all the skins, the approach lights "must" appear on the door trap. If not, use Paint ;) Enjoy Cliff
  19. ...and for the Mirage Factory A-7A, B and E Corsair II : [ApproachGreenLight] SystemType=LIGHT Position=-0.214,3.83,-1.08 LightSrcOffset=0.00,0.0,-1.50 Color=0.25,0.88,0.25 Brightness=0.02 LightSrcRange=0.03 CanFlash=FALSE IsLandingLight=TRUE [ApproachOrangeLight] SystemType=LIGHT Position=-0.232,3.83,-1.1075 LightSrcOffset=0.00,0.0,-1.50 Color=0.88,0.66,0.25 Brightness=0.02 LightSrcRange=0.03 CanFlash=FALSE IsLandingLight=TRUE [ApproachRedLight] SystemType=LIGHT Position=-0.25,3.83,-1.135 LightSrcOffset=0.00,0.0,-1.50 Color=0.99,0.25,0.25 Brightness=0.02 LightSrcRange=0.03 CanFlash=FALSE IsLandingLight=TRUE
  20. Hey welcome here Rob! :D I guess that the first DID campaign is often a short one... You have the choice : an "easy" campaign to push real hard or a difficult one to try to survive. My current pilot is my best so far and I'm waiting for spare time to continue the missions. I don't want to fail with this one. Good luck!
  21. RIP Ronnie James Dio

    I can't believe that... I'll never forget
  22. Happy Birthday Zur

Wszystkiego dobrego z okazji urodzin! :)
  23. :/ one mission per month... 13th mission Capt Sean Rosewood 87th FIS, Wiesbaden-Erbenheim – F-106A Delta Dart 11/13/68 Take off : 13.51 – Landing : 14.53 Target : Osnabrück, CAP 1 MiG-19, 1 IL-28 Ford 11 : Capt Sean Rosewood Ford 12 : 2Lt Kelly Wells Ford 13 : Capt Rolland Kullman Ford 14 : 1Lt Gordon Smallwood Report : Back to Osnabrück, for a patrol. We were asked to fly without the droptanks. I thought it was a bad idea. The fact is the “Six” was more agile and we climbed fast at level 15. Passing the IP, I saw two spots on my scope which seemed to be the target we needed. We went down and closed to the Bogeys. They were Il-28s and I fired my SuperFalcon as soon as I was in range. The AIM-26B went right to the target and the Beagle blown out. I launched my AIM-4Fs but didn’t managed to get a correct lock. Both went to the ground. Then it was harder to get the bomber 6, to lock-on it and to avoid to fire at my wingman who was chasing too. Both my AIM-4Gs went wide. The Il-28 was flying steady, my number 2 in its 6 and number 3 and 4 following. We went till Hannover like that, without a single launch! To prevent fuel issue, I decided that was enough and called the others to form up, RTB. As usual, the landing pattern was awful and my number 2 had to do his approach several times. I was mad! The debriefing revealed that we followed two Il-28s for at least five minutes and neither number 2 and 4 launched a single missile… I don’t think these two guys will appear on the mission roster very often… In fact, Billy Pickett is back amongst us and in a pretty good shape. Capt Kullman downed a MiG-19.
  24. Impossible to make the A1 version with the current He177 Lod because there's a big hole in the fuselage when I remove the back turret. A3, A5 and A6 in progress... Anyone to make the A6 rear turret LOD? (Anyway it works ok without) Or the Hs293?
  25. It's a "long road" but I found out new things. The "safe" version I'm doing will allow 99% throttle (the original one will stay the safest of course!). I'll try to make a "dangerous" version, the A-1, 95% throttle is too much and I think that will need some extensive tests. Here's a screen shot :) _
