I think probably the issue is that we, as sim pilots, each having amassed probably thousands of hours of combat time, never have to live through much of a learning curve. We climb in the cockpit on mission #1 and can already loop, side-slip, spin, recover from said spin, half-roll, half-loop, and deflection-shoot like the very devil, all while mostly or fully drunk (if that's your style) and then do it all again for mission #2, except this time horribly hung over. And I think Macklroy certainly has a job as a fashion eyewear designer, as his look very Avant-Garde, and King George would certainly desire a pair for hunting trips and so on.

I was going to order BHaH about a week ago but I balked and waffled and considered waiting for ROF (forget about that old cow) and I could have sworn it was listed as 39.99. I just ordered it today and it was only 29.99. I have no problems with paying less for the game, though, but did this have anything to do with the ROF release or did you feel it was just time to lower the price?

Considering that the DFC wasn't around until almost the end of the war (June-ish 1918?) and the MC was around from almost the start, wouldn't it make sense to get rid of the DFC in favour of the MC? Just an idea.

Yes, I've seen many posts of people say "Lo! For I have just reached the 17 hour mark!" and they are congratulated, because this is evidently enough some sort of feat, but soon followed by another post that says "Woe, for my brave warrior has fallen," which quite brightens my day.

I'd be wary of getting anything from Logitech. I've had too many of their units break down on me inside a few months to ever give them another thought. I think that unless you're getting a Saitek unit you're just throwing your money away. The Saitek X52 doesn't use the typical mechanical parts to control movement, but magnetic hall effect, non-contact sensors, which means it will never lose its calibration like most joysticks do. I've had mine for probably 4 or 5 years (if not more) and it works like it did out of the box. Furthermore, however, if you're not using rudder pedals, you should get a pair of those instead of a new joystick. If you're flying without pedals you're just cheating yourself. Best combination I've found is Saitek X52 (the regular or pro model, doesn't matter which) and CH rudder pedals.

I don't have OFF yet, and this makes me concerned for the game's realism. :/

If you were curious about your fuel why didn't you turn back? WWI pilots did that all the time for any host of problems.

Every historical account I have gotten my hands on (including Winged Victory) shows nothing but disdain for Archie, but considered low-altitude machine guns as the holy terror. However, in Eddie Rickenbacker's "Fighing the Flying Circus" one pilot and his machine are taken out by a direct hit from an Archie shell that blew the entire crate to bits.
