  1. I love the modeling in this game, I flew European Air Wars a lot several years ago. One thing I liked was the P51B, it was one of the hardest planes to fly because of the gun jams. I don't even have my gun settings on hard but I do seem to have a lot of jams. Not until I looked at this sequence of pics did I realize I was going pretty fast when I shot and was pulling up slightly. Obviously enough to jam a couple guns. At first I thought I had hit debris from the exploding plane but my guns had jammed prior.

  4. Fish from Barney Miller is gone for real this time

I watch TV using my digital antenna instead of cable, there are some great retro-television stations available like MeTV, Antenna TV, Comet, Get and Grit. I watch Barney Miller almost every night on Antenna TV. Funny if you think about it how young Abe was on Barney Miller compared to when he passed away, he must have been just in his fifties. RIP Abe Vigoda
  5. Electronic Arts Plans to Cut 1,500 Jobs

I don't think there is any other industry where the management is so disconnected with its product and its development staff than the gaming industry.

  15. Well I am not just playing WoV it has inspired me to do a lot of reading about the Vietnam war. I also like to study this old board game by Victory Games called Vietnam.
  16. Sorry changed my hosting When I get a chance this weekend I will repost some of the missions and pics
  17. Thanks for the advice Sandy I use to enjoy in "European Air War" the large bomber formations. What a great flight sim.
  18. Looking for books on the Air War in Vietnam I came across Mark Berent's novels. The first one is "Rolling Thunder" Lucky there are four more books in the series because I am really enjoying this first one.
  19. Nice sky effects Shrikehawk What video card are you using?
  20. I enjoy the alt the planes usually fly at and the speed, but mostly it is the romance of the era. As radio was developed the less and less was it an individual fight. And since I am using an old force feedback flightstick it is fun to feel the planes maneuver to your commands.
  21. Another F.N.G.

Hey Somewhat new myself, no practical flight or service experience just been simming for several years. I was a big European Air War fan back in the Win98 days. I know what you mean about wanting to just fly around and get a feel for the craft. I also wanted to check out the terrain in WoV. Here is a simple start I made for my trusty F-100, on the runway at Pleiku. download mission file, on runway at Pleiku There are no other units in the mission. You could swap any other plane through the loadout dialog in the hanger. Eventually I hope to fly off to the Cho Pong Massif in support of the 1st Cav in the I drang vallery. Cheers
  22. Well if I am burning around on afterburner all the time, I couldn't help but think "tactically" when to drop tanks or hold on to them if they still contained fuel. Your thoughts or opinions?
  23. From reading more about the linebacker mission it becomes apparent that certain operational procedures dictated what to do with external tanks. From my reading it seems normal to drop the center tank when empty and only jettison the wing tanks when aerial combat is eminent. Wing tanks cost more? I don't know, I would guess that the usuage of external tanks was calculated in the ordnance usage.
  24. Updated B52 strike Backed up the SEAD missions and their escorts so everyone arrives over target more at the same time. Some of the enemy flights were flying low circles over their airfields. Tweaked them so that they get some alt. You start behind the bombers but you probably want to use the extra fuel in your tanks to AP to the front of the attack formations. Download file
