hindsite is 20/20 and there are prob lots of things that might have been tried. but it was dark and an unknown animal seemed to be a threat and retreat didn't seem to be an option. a rabib chipmonk can ruin your year so why take a chance on something much bigger that could be a dog, could be a coyotee could be sick for all we know.I'm sorry as much as I love dogs I will choose my wife and child's safety over any dog 100 times out of 100. maybe things were nots as stated here but going by the info as retold here i do not fault the guy.I have had to use force against a coyotee that was chasing my cat. I'm a big guy and it was still tough for me to fight it off( being barefoot and in boxers didn't help)I can only imagine if I was trying to protect something as unweildy as a woman carrying an infant rather than an agile cat. I feel bad for the dog and the dogs owner but I still would want to know why the dog was roaming around unattended at night? I'm pretty sure if the dog was just a short ways from the owner at the time of the warnign shot he would have said something to the effect of WTF are you shooting at me for.

Russian soldiers/pilots in Vietnam?
whiteknight06604 replied to MAKO69's topic in Military and General Aviation
Also in Vietnam we hamstrung ourselves with idiotic rules of engagement that let the enemy get advantages that in a general war never would have happened. The NVA knew where we would not strike for political reasons and staged SAMS and suppies there. had we bombed in a millitary way rather than a political way it would have been extreamly one sided. linbacker 2 is a perfect example. Dropped more bombs on the north in a week or 2 than did every combatant combined durring all of WW2.sent the north straight to the peace table. had we done that from the begining the North would have crumbled and the millions in the south murdered in the comunist takeover would most likely be alive. -

Doing the right thing
whiteknight06604 replied to nbryant's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
it is men and women like this that give me hope for this country. in the face of self important politicians and lazy occupiers men and women who care about duty and honor and integrity will always command respect and give me at least hope that this nation will not implode in a mess of selfishness and petty bickering. thank you for posting this. sometimes I need to be reminded of what is really important and what our future can be. -

whiteknight06604 replied to Sundowner's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I just tried to use the Buccaneer and the F/A-18 on the iceland terrain for anti-Shipping and in the load out area the arecraft listed was the russian Bear bomber and no weapons wer available. I prob have something screwed up on my end but I figured i throw this out there just in case. -
Dhimar Air Force history..
whiteknight06604 replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
I did a few skins theat had very minor back stories with them.feel free to use or not use any thing there. I think Dhimar should be similar to Jordan. A stable semi-free Arab republic and Paran seems to be more like Syria to me a petty and evil dictatorship. I would assume they were once colonial dependents of a european power, most likely the UK. Maybe Paran can have had a Nazi influence like Iraq did during WWII. just some thoughts. -

very trrue. there is always hope. -
sucks for all involved I guess. And not knowing the exact situation I should run my mouth a little less. I just have unfortunatly been in similar situations so I can sympathize. ;) it's like the old saying "better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6".

Knox class trouble
whiteknight06604 replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I just changed the Knox speed and now they are showing as carrier escorts to confirm your theory -
if the owner of the dog had any sence he would have controled his animal. anything that come on my property and threatens my family is risking it's life.it's insane to expect somone to risk their family for a freakin dog. the second my loved ones are threatened by an animal it forfits it's life, plain and simple. I don't care if the guy was a vet or not he had his kid there and an unknown danger was aproaching. you do not risk your kid in the hope you can outrun something to get into the house.I'm an animal lover, heck I put myself between a bear and my cat so I don't take an animals life lightly but if it's a choice between human and dog dog loses everytime. Also the owner of the dog has a responsibility to control it. why was it on someone elses property?why was it not in the owners control? the owner of the dog bears the responsibility for it's death. it could have just as easily been struck by a car or attack by a feral animal while away from it's owners control. As I said I would counter sue the reckless owner for allowing his dog to scare my family and force me to use deadly force which has effected his family.normaly I wouldn't sue for something like that but obviously this unfit dog owner only understands lawsuits so give him one and a bunch of bad press to boot. that guy would be a social pariah once I was through rakeing him through the PR mud..... edit; my comments are based on info we have now, obviously if different info comes to light I will rethink my position to acount for the new info.

That stuff has been around forever.I know in First eagles there are listings in the campaigns for aircraft that were never made. I think it's more of a list of what was historicaly used and then what is used because it's available. -
prob would have been more satisfying to have saved his family and killed the dog with a knife? I have had to kill a couple dogs with a knife and I will say it was not pleasent or fast. I wish I had a firearm as it would have saved me lots of pain and the dogs much suffering.

let us know the court,I think a few letters are in order. as a matter of fact let this get into the press,i'm sure the media will have a field day with a veteren being mistreated like this. your friend should counter sue the dog owner for mental distress. his wife and child were threatend and they had to witness the dog being killed through the negligence of the dog owner.
-
WTF? It's sad to think people get paid to make up characters like that....
-
hope this works out for your friend. I love animals but there are tims when you have to do what is right to protect your family. Why were these dogs free to roam the nieborhood in the first place? In the woods behind my home we have coyotes and coydogs and sometimes they come into the yard.I have been confronted at 5am after coming home and had to fight off a coyote in my boxer shorts when it went after my cat.Sometimes you just have to protect your family or animals.
