Your alter-ego's all fly pretty well though...which makes me wonder: In the 20 v 20 (and 12v12), are the pilots Aces? Because they are magnificent flyers, and seem to pull every trick in the book to get away...much different and much from the regular campaign AI from what I can tell. ??

Now THERE'S a novel idea! Fly for the French. I dont think I've done that yet...and for good reason...Freedom Fries are so much better than French Fries! lol Heh, seriously, I've avoided the French up to now....the Camel is just so much fun to fly and OberLt. Ace Olham goes down in flames every time I meet up with him! ...but I guess he'll go down just as quickly if I'm flying a Spad. Thanks Winder!

Hellshade, you should post this vid over at SimHQ in the OFF forums. There are SO MANY readers there, but they dont have much to read about since there's not much to post there. This will give a really good impression of what OFF can do!

No, I havent made it out alive yet...well, that's not true. I've force a couple of landings cause of losing parts of my craft. The biggest thing is to stay high. Fire on someone, as they dive you disengage and climb. There's less to worry about then as there's only a few enemy fokkers above....and often I'm at the top and looking down. I've hurt 4 or 5 planes, but dont know if they ever crashed as it doesnt tell you at the end of the scenario. Possible Improvements: I'd like to see a spad 13 vs fok. d7 match, as the se5as are under classed for the d7 IMO. I'd also like to see a tally score at the end of the match with how many you shot down, how many you damaged, how many of your pilots were shot down or damaged. I must say that this mode is FUN, and EXCITING! Good work OBD! (again!)

hmmm. mission completions makes sense. I've flown close to 50, and I'm sure I've accomplished at least 25% of them...heh! OK, I'll knuckle down and make sure I finish some missions. Kind of embarrasing to be a seargeant, and be closing on the highest kill count of the war (dunno if I can make it, I'm at the end of January 1918 and having to be VERY carefull as the Germans are in HUGE numbers now in my sector).

Did you have white triangles before you upgraded to those drivers? What are your graphics settings at? (In cfs3 and nvidia CP)

Erik's post says we'll have our skin back...heh, er...the old OFF skin. They're doing us a favor by letting us have the forum, while they continue to work on it. We should have the next few new pilots buy Erik and the CA crew a few rounds! :)

The kills will come...always keep your advantage. Fixating on a target that is "almost" destroyed is a real killer...of you! Always gotta be thinking "where'd that other guy go"?

I'd like to see my dawn patrol of Camels engage a flight of Albs and see "Jasta 6 Ace Olham" amongst them! Or how about an REF8 pilot named "Winder"? Or an EIII pilot named "Uncleal" Is there a way to edit the aces name file, so that we can input various OFF pilots names from the forums? This is kind of in the line of the OFF planet map, but would be a great way to add a bit more flavor to the game. It shouldnt be that hard to do... and if they are all aces, (since we are all serious virtual pilots here) then we can be assured of a decent engagement when we see one of these fearsome pilots. If we can link a few of them together, that would be great as well. The flying circus? Pshhh! How about OBD squadron?

Hrm...replacing the aces I can do. The squadron I cant. Any way that in adding new squadrons you could add an OBD squadron? Would be a great egg to find, especially if it was a travelling squadron...

I like this game so much I bought a 2nd copy (for a friend) a few minutes ago. Plenty for all, but not you Bullethead! We're gonna teach you some moderation...cause YOU HAVE TO FLY TOMORROW! and we cant have you at anything less than 100%

Outfctrl-- Welcome! I have both sims. The one sim, which shall remain nameless and heretofore referred to as "the sim that shall not be named", has sucked up SO MUCH of my time to get it running well (it ran, just not great, so many hours spent on trying to fix the shimmering horizon that I cant begin to count them), that even after I got it running well, it wasnt that much fun. Fun being the operative word. (Still looking forward to its future as the mp should be great when they get around to addressing the current issues with it, and I look forward to some great dogfights with friends.) In the end, it's too much work, and too much waiting...and way too much frustration. I'm not willing to delete the sim that shall not be named from my HD, as what CJ stated is true: it's a great flying sim. I'm sure the devs will address things as they've put together one amazing product, and it'll only get better. As for Off, well....wow, what can we say that hasnt already been said? It's great. Get it and you'll really enjoy it. The single player campaign is amazing and addicting. As for CFS3: you can buy it for $9.99 at Best Buy if you have one near you. If you hunt around, you can get the DVD version online, which means you wont have to have CFS3 in your drive to play, which you do if you dont have the DVD. Best advice: Read the help manual at the OFF site, and follow the instructions as you set things up. It'll save you lots of time, and you can tweak things from there after it's running. We're always really happy to have new pilots here, cause.... the first rounds on the new guy! See you in the air!

There must be a way to edit the aces list...is it hard coded into the game? (dont worry Olham, I'll put you in a Dr.1 ... you're still going down tho )

I'd like to get rid of the list of items in the top right of the screen: health, ammo left, etc. However, I want to keep the notice that I hit pilot x or y. What's the option for this? Thanks!

The camel is the real fighter on the front. Try the camel Olham, it's the only plane that cant be killed, it can only kill you.

My cat has gas clouds some times, but when I pass thru them, they dont say "gas clouds". I wish they did.

Condor they were above you...way above you. Turn on the targeting cone, and it'll point to them. It was probably 2 seaters, otherwise, they'd have dove on you and made matchsticks of your crate

Actually, I like the gauges, but it's the listing of 10 or so items in the top right of the screen that I want to disappear: Pilot health, ammo, and a few other items, all in that last on the right. I think it's a command in the CFS3 setup screens...

This is a BIG one for me. I try to keep my mates alive, come to their rescue if I can etc, and keep up on their tallies in the kill board. However, since its random, it feels like it doesnt matter: definitely lowers the immersion/care factor...
