File Name: Post War Spitfire PR Mk.XI File Submitter: paulopanz File Submitted: 13 October 2013 File Category: Spitfire The first recon spitfire in use with RAF, RNoAF and RDAF in '50. 3 new skins included, each with historical decalset The plane is from TMF & Wrench (see original readme for WW2 version) what's new: - cockpit now close automatically at take-off and it's fully animated from inside too (following cliff's hints for Spitfires IX); - added pylon via fake pilot is plane specific and painted; V.1.1: pilot and fake pilot (centerline pylon) fixed; new tank That's all. @paulopanz P.S.: My wishes are for one more outstanding Scandinavian Campaign set in Early '50 using all these new viking spits (25.8.2016 a "real" proper Griffon S-31/Spifire Mk. XIX is on my schedule too...) ... Click here to download this file -

File Name: Post War P-63C Kingcobra (*) File Submitter: paulopanz File Submitted: 26 August 2016 File Category: Other In 1945, 114 P-63C were delivered to the French Air Force (Armée de l'Air), but they arrived too late to see service in World War II. They however saw service during the First Indochina War before being replaced in 1951. Initially the French Kingcobras were deployed to Algeria. Fighter squadron (Groupe de Chasse) 2/6 "Travail", previously equipped with P-39 Airacobras, received their Kingcobras on 18 July at Casablanca; the pilots were surprised by the higher landing speed of their new aircraft. The Kingcobra were scrambled to Indochina when the insurgency broke. Only 60 Kingcobras were operational in Indochina in January 1950, mainly because the Americans refused to supply spare parts. Starting in February 1951, the squadrons equipped with Kingcobra started to receive Grumman F8F Bearcats as replacements. Most Kingcobras were mothballed by July. The last flight of a Kingcobra in Indochina took place on September 6, 1951. WHAT'S IN: - a post war P-63C model remodded and repacked - 14 new French Skins and decals added - 2 new VVS skins - weapons tweaked and fixed - steering front gear - USAF due very little usage disabled from userlist. Gloster Javelin FAW. 8-9-9R pack
paulopanz posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
View File Gloster Javelin FAW. 8-9-9R pack The Gloster Javelin was a twin-engined all-weather interceptor aircraft that served with Britain's Royal Air Force in the late 1950s and most of the 1960s. It was a T-tailed delta-wing aircraft designed for night and all-weather operations and was the last aircraft design to bear the Gloster name. Introduced in 1956 after a lengthy development period, the aircraft received several upgrades during production to its engines, radar and weapons, including support for the De Havilland Firestreak air-to-air missile. The Javelin was succeeded in the interceptor role by the English Electric Lightning, a supersonic aircraft capable of flying more than double the Javelin's top speed, which was introduced into the RAF only a few years later. The Javelin served for much of its life alongside the Lightning; the last Javelins were withdrawn from operational service in 1968 following the induction of successively more-capable versions of the Lightning. FAW 8 Upgraded Sa.7R engines with reheat, raising thrust to 12,300 lbf (54.7 kN) thrust above 20,000 ft (6,100 m); at lower altitudes, the limitation of the fuel pump caused a loss of cold thrust. New "drooped" wing leading edge and auto-stabilizer for better handling. Short nose. FAW 9 A total of 118 FAW 7s refitted with the revised wing and engines of the Mk 8. Wet pylons. Long nose. FAW 9R (range) fuel probe added. Special test modified plane. IL-28R After Ilyushin had developed a two-pilot trainer version of the Il-28 Beagle, they turned their attention to developing a reconnaissance version known as the Il-28R which first flew on 19 Apr 1950. The Il-28R was equipped with a camera suite in the bomb bay, together with mountings for am portside oblique camera in the rear fuselage. Various day or night cameras could be carried and for night photography 12 flares were also carried in the rear of the bomb bay. Fitting a larger fuselage fuel tank, which abutted into the rear of the bomb bay and by adding wingtip tanks, increased the range of the Il-28R. Although the rear tail gunner was retained, the right nose cannon was removed and replaced with camera controls – the bomb aiming radar was also removed. Production of the Il-28R was authorised in late 1951 and it soon entered VVS service.
