Want more 'eyecandy'? Help for ATI users...

Thanks Olham. I'll look at them later. -
So it seems. Even if I've all my OS are in English, the regional settings are obviously set to my country. So I decided to change all the regional settings into English and never happened again. Now I have to look which one is causing the error. I bet it's the decimal point. Thanks Polowski. Great game and great support.

IMO hardly. Save your bucks for another thing. Unless you can sell without loosing money.

Like I've said in 9.5 and in 9.7 the stuttering it is mainly noticed when I rerun the mission and only in quick turns when dogfighting. What it seems to happen with Windows 7 is that besides having no stuttering in those situations, the game feels smoother than with XP.

another graphic abnormaly.
Von Paulus replied to sitting_duck's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Usually those artifacts are related to bad PSU or to high temperature in GPU. But it can be also other things. For example some people in ARMA II with ATI cards (specially 512Mb), are getting those artifacts because at certain point graphic card's video memory is not conveniently reseted. But I'm sure there will be a lot of more reasons. Try to lower the video settings. -
I've tested in Windows XP Pro SP3 with different catalyst versions. In terms of performance 9.7 and 9.5 are very similar. However with the 9.8 version there is a huge drop frame about 20%. In all versions I have stuttering. In 9.7 and 9.5 it seems to happen only when I rerun the mission. But in 9.8 it's always there. After testing in XP I lauched Windows 7 with 9.8. Like I've told it before, no stuttering at all. Everything is more smooth. As for the fps they are practically the same as 9.7 in XP, at least so it seemed. When I pressed F5 key and the HUD appears, usually I would have some drop frame; in Windows 7 it seemed there is no impact whatsoever. I've to test it more, but for now, I'm very happy with my OFF experience in Windows 7. We XP users have to get used to the idea, that for now on, manufacturers will begin to optimize the hardware and the drivers for the new operative systemand forget XP. It seems that the XP life cycle is coming close to the end. :-( My system: Asus P5B-Deluxe // E8500 @ 3.16 // 2x KHX6400D2/2G // Asus 4890 1GB // Creative Audigy2 // HD WD 500GB SATA2 C16 // HD ST 250GB SATA II// HD ST 80GB PATA // LC-POWER HYPERION 700W // Freezer Pro 7// Antec TX1050B // Logitech G5 // Razor Goliath Pad // SideWinder FFB Pro // TIR 4 /

Thanks Polovski for answering. I've already deleted the pilot and installed it in another OS , but the problem persists sometimes. Anyway it's not so important, I can live with this. But I'll try to test further and then properly report. Thanks

And you don't have worst picture quality? AFAIK, usually those modes (interlaced) are for some TV sets who can't support native computer resolution. It has nothing to do with ATT. BuT I don't have any doubts that ATT is more powerful than CCC. It has a lot of more options. It was introduced in the Catalyst 9.7, so it says the 9.7 changes log.

The ones I read in the FAQ for ATI cards. When I noticed the stuttering I change the sliders to 3-3-3-3-3 but with no improvements. As for the 4890 I too have read that it isn't much more than a OC 4870. Because of ARMA II I needed to upgrade my 8800 GTS so I bought the 4890. It was almost the same price as the 4870 and so I didn't hesitate at the time. I had no trouble with the 9.7 version and XP. I don't remember to have that stuttering . Maybe I should give it a try. Anyway it's working "wonderfully" in Windows 7 with 9.8.

It seems after more testing that all the stuttering hasn't gone after all. :( It's better when I set the affinity to just one core, but not completely solved. What is more strange is, even if I have just OFF for only a month, I don't remember to have it in the beginning when I installed. Besides changing the Catalyst version (to 9.8), changing the page file to another hardisk and patching the game, there were no other changings that could justify this stuttering / freezing. It seems to be something related with the CPU. Anyhow I decided to try install OFF in my Windows 7 (RC1) 32bits (I have 3 hardisks). Surprise. All the stuttering disapeared and above all I had an increase of performance around (10 to 20fps) Is this a sustained performance increase? I've to test it more.

Sorry I forgot to mention, I'm running on a XP SP3. Thanks.

search function not working?

I've the same feeling. -
I've a E8500 @ 3.16Ghz and ATI 4890 graphic card. I was just feeling quite desperate with the stuttering I was getting when doing a quick/wild turn. Have tried a lot of things suggested in the FAQ, but none seemed to work. Until I found a workaround in this thread. By setting the affinity to a single core solve all my stuttering problems. Thanks stapme. This reminds me how old is this engine. It's quite a miracle what OBD pulls out from it and turn a crappy old simulator into a classical one.

FLAMEING ONIONS BETA 3 CLIP

It looks nice stumpjumper. @Olham It was used by Germans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming_onion -
Welcome!

Fully agree with both. I'd also add something which is more emotional than racional. Fear. After the "Nacht der langen Messer" we mustn't forget that the Nazi regime became more repressive.

Thinking of Buying Over Flanders Field
Von Paulus replied to outfctrl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
In my case it's both. I read a lot of books of WWI. It's an historic period that capture my interest for a long time. Playing this sim is like living, in a certain way, what I've read. It gives a more emotional approach to it. -

Olham needs more pins for his maps. Welcome etphonehome. -
I see. Thanks for the answer. I only knew that he had killed himself during war. I bet there were a lot of Germans who were also caught by the Devil's Offer.

If it's the UBISOFT version you don't even have to pach or install CS3. During OFF installation it will ask for the DVD and copy the files needed. And it will never ask again for the DVD. -
Mais um tuga. EDIT: Já me esquecia: Carcavelos, Portugal

Instead of Herr Meier you should try to get the corporal. Maybe we could find him in one of the trenches.
