  1. Improved Fencer Skins

    Version

    167 downloads

These are two SU-24MK skins for Syria and a What-If Parani airforce I redrew the panel lines in 2048x2048 and added some rivets as well. I included the psd file I used for those who want to create more skins. I also updated the data.ini with values for use of the K-36 ejection seat and Red7002 pilots. It looks better I think :-) But feel free to use the original one in the aircraft mod of course. This is not the add-on aircraft itself. You'll have to get it here: http://combatace.com/files/file/12158-sf2-su-24-fencers/ Installation: After you installed the aircraft mod obviously... Paste the skin folders (Paran & SyAAFCamo1) and the data.ini in your Aircraft folder (SU-24MK). Objects/Aircraft/SU-24MK The K-36D and Red7002 go into your Pilots folder. Objects/Pilots Credits TW for the game My skins and template are based on the ones by Veltro2K & Tunderchief Layered PSD file, yours truly I couldn't find who made the seat and pilot, sorry. But credit goes to whoever made them.
  2. Hello I stayed away from SF2 for a couple of years because of the whole Nvidia driver thing. Meanwhile I slowly got back to simming, mainly in DCS now, but I'm sort of missing the modability of SF2. I remember I wanted to create a fictional campaign for the Vietnam map with French aircraft. But then suddenly aircraft started literally to fall apart and terrains started to look like a Bermuda triangle B-movie. I recently got me a new rig, Windows 10, 16GB with a GTX1050. Do the latest drivers still tear the game apart or has this issue been solved? Sorry if this is an old issue... but I've been away for so long, I really have no idea what's been going on. But before I start going mad over reinstalling everything, I want to make sure that I have no nasty surprises ahead :-) Cheers

  6. S-3B skins improved

    Version

    157 downloads

These are improved skins for the S-3B Viking. The improvements are especially thinner panel lines (I really hate those big ass blurs around the lines :-)) and I also added some rivets. I changed some decals as well. I corrected a few lines here and there based on actual walkaround pics (the pylons and engines for instance) I didn't redo all the the skins, but most of them. To make sure nothing gets lost I added all of the decals for each squadron. The included skins are for: VS-21, VS-22, VS-24, VS-27, VS-30, VS-32, VS-33 and VS-38. I found the VS-22 and VS-24 in the Black Sea Expansion pack and no credits to be found there for these. So if the real slim shady would stand up, then I can include him. I also included the template I made based on the original skins, in case anyone would want to use it for missing squadrons. Get the original aircraft here: http://combatace.com/files/file/12249-lockheed-s-3b-viking-by-foxmontor Original credits: FoxMonter for the aircraft; HrntFixer & Paul Nortness, "Fist of the Fleet" for skins and decals; TMF (me thinks!) for the USN series of sound files. Wrench for assembling the package, and all the editing work; Of course, TK and 3rdWire for the base games themselves!! Original skin credits: VS-21 Fighting Redtails + VS-27 Sea Wolves * VS-29 Dragonfires + VS-30 Diamondcutters + VS-30DS (Desert Storm) ? VS-32 Maulers ? VS-33 Screwbirds + VS-33lo Screwbirds (Lo-Viz) + VS-35 Blue Wolves * VS-38 Red Griffins + VX-1 Pioneers + The suffix symbols designate the artist that created the skins/decals. 7. you need to roll back to one of July drivers but make sure you remove everything, there's a tool for that http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html then install the older driver but yes... in time people will move on... windows 10, new drivers... and SF2 won't be updated anymore it's just a matter of time
  8. After a long break I fired up SF2, but this is what I got to see. Terrain going blank, sometimes objects are separating. Never saw this before. Must be related to my video card... I put the V Sync on off, but that didn't help. Terrain is Rend's Germany, but I had no problem before... Anyone seen this? What could this be? I'm pretty sure it's the card 3d settings... I have a GTX960
  9. so... I tried a few things. Since the last big mod I installed was Rend's Germany terrain, I tested on my SF2NA mod folder (which I didn't use for a while) I flew the stock Germany terrain, enough times and various missions to see if it would crash or if my aircraft would go all "transformers" on me. Nothing... I install the Rend terrain, fly it, and it freezes. Sometimes in the cockpit, sometimes when there's a lot ground objects being attacked. I rename the Rend terrain (so that it's not recognized), install the older four seasons mod for GermanyCE, fly a couple of times... and after a few missions comes the dreaded freeze. (my mind is boiling now) Out of curiosity, I delete the Rend folder completely and leave the four seasons mod. Fly that, like at least ten missions, no freeze, no transformers, no blank terrains. Weird (or what?) Since I mainly use the SF2 mod folder for almost everything, I delete the Rend folder there, reinstall the four season mod and likewise, no freezes... I tried my Desert terrain (modded), seems ok. I did find the TERALPHAOBJECT.FX and TERSOLIDOBJECT.FX in there, which I deleted. Maybe those were the culprits that made my missions freeze in the desert. Still need to test the Vietnam and Iceland terrains. And fly a full campaign. If nothing weird happens, I'll try updating my driver and see what happens.
  10. the 2GB GTX960 it did play near flawlessly (a few freezes have been always kinda "normal") before the summer
  11. I'm testing on stock terrains, no probs so far. I do remember adding some FX files to my terrains... like TERALPHAOBJECT.FX and TERSOLIDOBJECT.FX I don't know if that could be it... I need fly and compare...
  12. I didn't touch the game in several months. And last time I played it ran without any hiccups. I play it again and bam! The only that changed is several driver updates and perhaps some fiddling with the card settings to optimize Civ V. But after experimenting with different settings and rolling back, nothing much has changed. It affects all terrains. I'm on Win 7, with a GTX960 I'll try a different mod folder. I have a second one I made just for the Black Sea terrain.
  13. i rolled back to 353.62 flew two missions, the second one froze let's try with the 353.30 incredible... thirdwire should really stop selling this game and put it up for free if they don't bother updating their game, wtf...
  14. i'll give it a try meanwhile i had this...
  15. ForceDX9=FALSE is in my options.ini
  16. I'll check when I get back from work. (playing SF2 at work... now that would be something)
  17. Default settings, didnt change anything except for ObjectsFade=false of course
  18. ok i rolled back but that didn't solve it I then checked my 3d settings and put the anisotropic filtering on off and the Texture filtering - Negative LOD Bias to Allow that seemed to solve it let's see what happens when i update the driver again and keep these settings... v-sync is not the problem, SF2 forces it to off anyway
  19. I was already thinking about an earlier Vietnam campaign, circa 1960. After the French defeat at Dien Bien Phu, Ho Chi Minh is determined to unify the country with the help of USSR... These planes would be a nice addition.
  20. The FJ-3 we have now has the problem that it's too glossy and cannot be changed in the texture.ini. I think it was it was related to the model. So that means that the later gull grey skins are too shiny...
  21. I second a proper Fury, FJ-3 and FJ-4. Maybe also a new F-9F Cougar with new pit
