Oh boy here you go again Uncleal lol, when are you and Nvidia going to elope? While it is true that I did not have the weather lag issue with the Nvidia card, it is an absolute falsity to claim that OFF runs better on Nvidia because of this singular problem. My 5970 smashes my old 8800 on every other level with this game. My 8800 could not even dream about pushing 4800x1200 resoution at 60fps with everything set 5,3,4,4,3. Man I was lucky to get 30fps with the 8800 ultra at 2560x1600 with 5,2,2,2,2! And don't get me started on nvidia drivers! OFF crashed one out of every five missions with my nvidia cards, which made the game absolute hell to play because you never knew if you were going to get credit for your mission progress or not.....and yes I tried many, many, many different nvidia drivers.

This is my best pilot to date and now he is freshly dead due to a slow 20mph crash landing gone bad. He survived all kinds of hell in his short month lifespan and should have been dead nearly a dozen times over, which is funny that a simply crash landing claimed him, but such is war. I play with radar and labels on, but everything else is DID. Mmmm then it must be a driver issue, because lowering graphical settings really does not help add frames all that much. Its frustrating going from 50fps to less than 20. Im at the point where I just cancel the mission if the weather is not to my liking. Yes my pilot is a premadonna thats got it like that, well at least until this issue is fixed!

Oh and the one other thing I did was turn AA down to easy...yes its not hardcore DID, but after loosing five promising pilots in a row to AA I had enough. Either the AA went or I went, it was driving me nuts. Its bad enough that I have to worry about my wingies colliding with me. Here are my leading causes of pilot death. 1) AA 2) Wingmen running into me 3) Friendlies running into me 4) Other planes and objects running into me 5) Crash landings due to plane damage and a stubborn refusal to bail and try to land it. 6) Crash landings due to my misjudgement of the dangers of landing so close to a tree, tent, car, etc. 7) Stall and then crash, but this is less frequent after aquisition of G940 8) Actually being shot down.

Yea 111 claims and he died with 19 pending so who knows what his final confirmed tally would have been had he not been cut short in his prime lol. I am playing with labels and radar, plus I have a dream setup; Triple 20" monitors @4800x1200, trackIr4, a logitec G940, a quad core q9650 overclocked to 4ghz and a Sapphire 5970 overclocked to 900/1200. I wish they would develop OFF on its own brand new engine that took advantage of DX11 with all of those bells and whistles! I just pains me to play a game like Dirt2 that looks drop dead photo realistic gorgeous and then come back to OFF which is aged DX8 & DX9 at best. It kills me that all of the kiddie games get all of the big development budgets and the games of any realistic substance don't. Don't get me wrong, Dirt 2 is not a bad game, but can you imagine OFF with Crysis quality graphics! IL2 is getting the new graphics treatment with Storm of War, which is due out in about two weeks I just wish, wish, wish, OFF would too! Maybe they can get an agreement to MOD IL2s new engine like they did with Combat FLight Simulator 3! I dunno, OFF does not look or play bad as it is, but the engine is limited, very limited. And yes, please throw in some Eyefinity, Crossfire, and SLI support while your at it Santa!

I was under the impression that there would be a user friendly application where we could simply design our own skin. I was anticipating an application like Red Baron had. What a giant disappointment.

I do not see where I can make custom skins for my ace. This is pissing me off!!! Where is this feature at? I got an ahole with 42 confirmed kills and I have been wating for this feature to make him a skin!

Morris, the ati divers are fine and VIsta 64 works perfect. Its not that I get bad FPS with my 5970, I dont, I am just bitching because I get swings from 60fps to 20fps and I would not have that problem if the game engine supported crossfire. You will love your setup, trust me. I am just running an ungodly hi resolution of 4800x1200 so that is why I am wishing for crossfire support.

Siggi, I am running at a resolution of 4800x1200, which is nearly 6 megal pixels. My 5970 maxes my 30" monitor out on all 5s at 2560x1600 resolution. What resolution are you running your Gtx285 at?

Ok let me put it another way before everyone gets carried away with the DirectX11 comment. I have an ati 5970 and 5870, which is a hell of a lot of GPU power. And I am running a 4800x1200 eefinity display, however, due to the limitations of OFFs engine, I cannot use half of my 5970s gpu power and I cannot crossfire in my 5870. So I am stuck playing with settings at threes and fours with fluctuating frame rates from 20fps to 60fps. I would love to be able to have all three of my GPUS working in Crossfire to be able to peg OFF at 60fps with all settings set to five, however its OLD engine will not let me. This is one of those games that will not let you throw ungodly amounts of cash at it to get what you want and that kind of sucks So if Santa will not bring OFF a new game engine, will he at least let me use Crossfire, because that is what I REALLY REALLY WANT!
