I'm not sure if this means he had glider experience or not, but it would have certainly come in handy... Rated: Airline Transport Pilot; Airplane Single and Multi-Engine Land; Commercial Privileges Glider; A320, B737, DC-9/MD-80, Learjet. 19,000 hours. http://safetyreliability.com/yahoo_site_ad...e.317143407.doc EDIT: he's a glider CFI and from the bio, sounds like was the perfect person in the right place at the right time!

Hi Peter01, I just want to say a big THANK YOU for everything you have done for the FE flight models. Speaking personally, I feel totally out of my depth (!) in offering feedback on the individual aircraft models. Suffice is to say that they all feel different and I can only imagine the courage of the men who actually flew and put their life on the line in these "experiments". One thing is clear to me at least. I cannot fly without a joystick or TrackIR in any sim, and without rudder pedals in FE! Thanks again! deep.

After what seemed like a 10-minute dogfight in BoB2, I spiralled down in my Spitfire enjoying the view of the Me109 going down in flames into the English Channel, too late realizing that I was going too fast and joining him a few seconds later. -
High Res F-15E Skin By Sundowner..
deep replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Wow - 4096x4096! I don't think I've ever seen that high a skin resolution. Oddly enough, it didn't seem to have any major impact on frame rates though. Sundowner strikes again! -
Peter the Great back in action! WK, thanks for the info on the betas, I did not see those.

quack74, These are great skins! I love the weathering. On behalf of the people who download but who may not post, I thank you!

This may be old news for some, but there are some utterly fantastic free resources available for anyone with a love of aviation in any context. I got very high quality color print books of both for 30 bucks on Amazon. http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aviatio...lying_handbook/ http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aviatio...-H-8083-25A.pdf

Thanks B Bandy RFC! It's shorts and t-shirt weather here in Florida, and I had to scamble to find a jacket.

Truly outstanding! If the winter screenshots were posted on other forums, I bet you would get a lot of people taking another look at WO*. -

deep replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
If you mean Peter01's flight models, they are only meant for the Unpatched Expansion Pack - October 2007. -

We did the same thing with a captured Mig-21: "One day, the Constant Peg maintenance shop noticed it was running out of MiG-21 brakes. With no place to buy any off the shelf, they sent out some worn brakes for duplication. Six weeks and untold dollars later they got back a brand-new set of worn-out brakes. The new parts had been made to look exactly like the old." -
Hi guys, I just want to say how much I appreciate the effort you both have put into this. With memories fading and only relatively scant resources to draw upon, this period has become alive again for some of us. At this point, I don't think it's possible to have a definitive definition of color, so perhaps a few different sets could be done. I have fond memories of my grandfather, who was in the first tanks to operate on the battlefield at Cambrai. His vehicle ran into mechanical troubles, and stalled over enemy lines. He was taken prisoner, and spent the rest of the war as a POW. He told me stories about the food, mainly a soup consisting of "greasy water with carrots ". He never ate carrots again after he got back. S!

How NOT to make transition textures lol

That is too funny! I think even the Mossad would smile at that one. -
I know what you mean! It's so dry I have to store it in the humidor. Another volume that had a dry reputation, but I can recommend personally is http://www.amazon.com/Aviators-Guide-Navig...0277&sr=8-1

The "official" version came out very quickly and put sole blame on one low ranking man. These are old Soviet ways of dealing with a problem, and I doubt that is the real story.

S! Good luck to you! We truly appreciate your service.

Superb! Really looking forward to this. -
Yes, thanks sinbad for all these skins. The amazing variety of this period makes FE different from all the others. Thank you! deep
