  1. I fly mostly British, French and American. I have a German pilot, but I fly him only about 1/3 as much as the others. I just love my Se-5a and Nieuport 28, but I really can't wait for Phase 4 and the Snipe!
  2. New PC and new Monitor! now my OFF looks even better than before!
  3. @olham: those shots are amazing! would you mind posting your PC specs and in game settings? also, what kind of FSAA and AF are you running?
  4. migrate pilots

I'm not trying to make my pilot "last forever", I just want to continue the career that I have going. I would have thought its a simple matter of copying a folder perhaps.
  5. migrate pilots

How exactly is migrating my pilot roster in any way "illegal'?
  6. Hi guys, I've recently bought a new computer and just re-installed OFF. now im wondering how to migrate my pilots from my old hard drive over to my new install. Possible?
  7. @vonOben: wow, great shots. I can tell you've got those settings cranked! look all those treeeeeeeeees!
  8. @nbryant: great looking SPAD skin! are you going to make it available to the public?
  9. In Game Claim Count

In my experience, if you don't claim it : you don't get it. In real life, when enemy aircraft 'crashed' as a result of combat damage it was often claimed as an "out of control" kill, but still counted towards the pilot's overall total. In the game, there's no difference. if you damaged him, and he crashes then you're allowed to try to claim it. I usually try to claim ever kill I feel i've earned: the game will tell me if I've made an error when trying to submit a faulty claim sheet.
  10. @Olham i've only recently began to learn the central powers planes. This was a free flight just to learn the albatross, I just thought the clouds looked pretty. :)
  11. mastering the Nieuport 28

I personally love the Nieuport 28. some things to remember: It bleeds energy fast in hard turns and has a tendency to 'roll over' on a stall. Its very much a stick, rudder and throttle plane. For hard turns, I cut or reduce throttle then a quick blast of gas when you hear the airframe creaking and the wind noise calm down. Trust me, with practice you'll begin to feel the moment you approach stall speed in the Nieuport. Its a combination of mushy controls and wind noise. One of the best features of the 28 is it's decent climb rate, which is good for extending away from a low energy opponent. The only real trick, I find, is marksmanship: the odd gun placement makes estimating your shots a little difficult when first learning the aircraft.
  12. Hi everyone. I need some suggestions. I'd like to get my friends into some WWI air combat action, but they arent really into flight simulation games. But they are big boardgame/cardgame nerds. Now, I only know of 2 games that might fit the bill: Wings of War: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=24 and Down in Flames WWI: http://www.dvg.com/.sc/ms/dd/ee/7/Down%20In%20Flames%20WWI Is there perhaps one I havent heard of?
  13. wow Olham, you really cleaned it up! nice work.
