I was just wondering, what peoples opinions are on models etc from both RAZBAM, and YAP , and are any of them worth getting....as in, well worth it, and what models and items should be avoided.at all cost. I ask the question as I have never really looked into payware stuff other than "official" TW DLC , and I just had a look at Yankee Air Pirates site, and like the look of the helos on there, so I am interested in full and honest appraisals of kit from both these vendors, before I part with any of my hard earned dosh. This is a serious enquiry, and I would like to hear peoples thoughts and or experiences with stuff from either or both of these purveyors of aeronautical delights.

At the end of the day, there is a plague.....lets call it one as for all intents and purposes it is one, although on a much lesser scale, there is no cure for it, it is transmitted by human contact, and it kills, ok, not a biblical scope of death toll, but still, it kills, and the ONLY way of containing the damn thing, is by reducing contact and therefore risk of either exposure, or, if you are a carrier, of passing it on. Therefore If by ignorance, stupidity, or just not giving a flying fuck, or because you believe its a huge conspiracy, and the evil empire is out to fuck you over, cause finacial problems for the medical services, and for businesses as a whole, maybe if it goes on for any protracted time, then you are first delusional, secondly selfish , thirdly a potential murderer , as if you ARE a carrier, and you pass it across to your elderly or infirm relative, they stand a good chance of contracting the thing and also of dying from it. So instead of moaning whining, and complaining, all actions which will have zero effect anyhow, just fuckin' deal with it, and fuck off with any conspiracy theory bollocks , deal with it ffs it aint fuckin' hard !!

I for one am fully aware, however the models Gerwin mentioned are certainly worthy of consideration should someone with the facility to make a model, wish to do so, they ARE indeed nice models, however not quite what I require , or have the ability to utilise, I also hope Gerwin doesn't think I'm being dismissive, as I am not. The opposite in fact.

Well I shall bear it in mind, however, I'm not sure how I could utilise these models, as I am no model maker , I only do skins as I have no way of making models as i do not and cannot afford max, also as a skinner I pump loads of hours into my work ( all be it not up to the skill of modelling in 3d ) and get paid nowt.........however I see your point about relative prices.

hehehehe thought you MAY just have something in the pipeline eventually. I did have a thought though, all this discussion may be academic, as when the new win 10 version of SF comes out, there may be an issue with getting these things to work, I noticed there is a disclaimer on the downloads that these havent been tested in Win 10 , so i shall hold off for now methinks....Although, I really desire that there Skycrane.....oh and a decen Sioux....and...........dammit I'm like a kiddie in a sweetie store .....I may grow up one day hahahaha NOT !!!

I hope that young lady realises her dreams, the fact her parents take her flying is outstanding, and at that age , to meet ones hero like this is going to be a formative and driving factor in her adult life.

Thanks everyone for your valuable input, I think I shall indeed purchase some of the helos, and possibly a couple of carriers, even though I am totally crap at landing on them, it seems that purchasing any of the campaigns is maybe not that great an idea, but we shall see, I think I shall start with the skycrane and see from there, although the AH1Z ( which we dont have here, is also a possibility , so either the flight school or the weapons schools may be an option as well.

Skinning is not a massive issue for me, I have nothing but time, so if its a headscrachin' bum clenchin' problem, it may be worth my while, the helo's in particular though may be a problem if they need converting from SF1 standards, Crapuns choppers are a good case in point , where some of them, just dont want to work properly, the Seaknight in particular, where the wingmen, just refuse to take off and tool around in ever decreasing circles, like the fabled foo foo bird, unfortunately that side of modding is beyond my ken, and I would need some considerable help getting stuff to work, maybe some poor benighted soul would be able to assist in such an endeavour !!! Applications on a post card please !! I think I may invest in these yap offerings, in some part at least, and scream for assistance as and when I fail miserably at getting the buggers to work. View File UH-1H IROQUOIS (PAKISTAN) BELL UH1-H IROQUOIS PAKISTANI ARMY Using Yakarov79's excellent UH-1H I have created 3 new skins for the Pakistani Army, the first is the standard overall green, there is a grey/green camo scheme, and finally what appears to be the latest cam scheme which is sand/green/brown . I have included the whole package in this upload to make it easier to install as it needs really to be installed separate from a general UH-1H installation, as it is a purely Pakistani machine. all the files needed are included, sounds, weapons, pilots etc etc . I have left the decals the same for all 3 schemes, as it appears that standard markings are commonplace on Pakistani aircraft. One thing to note though, is that when the gunners are enabled, it removes the numbering from the cargo doors, not a major issue at all, but I just thought you may need to know. also, the latest iterations of the Huey in Pakistani service appear to be armed with miniguns rather than M60's however I dont have the ability to adjust this , so the Pigs will have to suffice, I am not sure if this modification is for the newer Venoms, rather than the standard UH-1 , however, if it is possible to mod the gunners with the miniguns, that would be totally ace. As I said this model is originally from Yakarov79, so all the main, and important workings are his sterling work not mine, I have merely adapted it to reflect the Pakistan Army's aircraft. I do use Yakarovs stuff a lot, my main interest on the YAP site were the Skycrane for one, also the Sioux , as we only have the Craphead one floating around, also some of the marks of Huey are pretty interesting, the Frog for example, though we have a pretty decent UH-1B ( although it maybe needs a rework of the skins, which I will hopefully get around to ) there are no Huey Hogs available Jolly greens , we have those and pretty damn good they are too !! not looked at the aircraft themselves in too much detail as I have been looking at the helos more, however there do seem to be a few of interest, Shame about the Razbam stuff though, I read somewhere that the A6's were supposed to be pretty tasty, and I do actually have the Banshee, which I believe is a Razbam model. Anyhow please keep the comments rolling in, especially if you have or still do own any of the YAP stuff.

UH-1H IROQUOIS DECAL FIX View File Please find enclosed the fix for the missing decals for the Pakistani UH-1H for the cargo doors when a gunner is enabled, just replace the decals.ini file in all 3 colour schemes, it is exactly the same file for all 3 so just delete the old one and replace with this one, then we shall all be number enhanced I apologise I should have fixed this from the start, however, after a quick chat with Yakarov79 I got on to it this morning, and corrected the error, quick and easy fix , as I suspected . Cheers for that mate, I realised it when after I posted the skins I had a look at her in lod viewer, to be honest its not a real issue, not for me at least, I just mentioned it as I wanted people to be aware and not point it out to me, however for future reference on my upcoming skins, I can now forestall the issue, so cheers for confirming it for me mate, and for taking the time to tell me about it as well, very kind of you sir !!

Oh yeah, we need a better cockpit too, the huey cockpit is just totally wrong.....just saying.

Nice !! dont worry about skins, thats my area of , I hesitate to say expertise, but yay !! As you saw I did skins for the standing Wessex , but its a horrible mesh to work with as its only 2d rather than 3d, and the clipping is horrible, looking forward to getting my teeth into something a bit more up to date and accurate !!

Very very cool, shame we dont actually have the H19/Whirlwind in game, same with a decent Choctaw / Wessex. I love watching these old instructional videos very informative and they tell you things that maybe are forgotten.

View File SF2 Westland Wessex HU 5 (DAT) Westland Wessex Hu 5 Royal Navy skin A re work of the skin for the Wessex HU5 , the aircraft is originally from the A-Team site, so you will ( if you want to fly this aircraft ) have to obtain the files and lods from there, This is a complete re do of the whole thing, as I was never happy with the colour, so I have corrected that, I have re drawn all the panels relatively accurately, I haven't bothered with rivet detail as to be honest it doesn't actually show up too well, I have corrected and updated ALL the stencilling, as the original effort was a dogs breakfast to be honest. I have also re done the decals and markings. So what is included.........2 skins, one for aircraft from 848 NAS who were the squadron in action during the Falklands operation, and one skin for 845 NAS flying off HMS Bulwark in 1966 during the Brunei and Indonesia debacle. I have included the decals for both Squadrons, and also the pilots that I personally use, although green helmets were more the flavour of the day during the Falklands, so feel free to swap out the pilots if that is your taste. A quick note about the shortfalls of these skins, the aircraft I believe was originally done for SF 1 so it is a little aged, therefore there are some clipping issues you may encounter, I am unable to do anything about this, in reality, we could do with a completely new model of this important aircraft, and hopefully one day it will happen !! So pretty much I have made a silk purse from a sows ear here, the aircraft itself. looks a little "off" I am sure there are some dimension errors, it doesn#'t seem tall enough, and it looks a little bit odd from the front view.....but I could of course be wrong, and the thing is perfect, but I doubt it. The stuff we all are getting used to like working lights and hatches......yeah ok.......not happening on this model, and I forgot to make lights work at least....oh well, such is life !!
