I would too, that sort of information seems to be hard to come by, always did like the look of the Flagon though, but assumed if flew like a brick .

I dont think there was any deliberate political discussion, rather it was an aside, and no derailment was intended. conversations occasionally branch off a little before returning to the subject in hand.

Of Course , the Soviet union was responsible for much bad jujuj , but one thing is sure, as a cold war warrior, I'm really glad the cold war didnt go hot, we would have overcome in the end I believe, but the cost would have been horrendous, to both sides.

Well You could argue that from the soviet Pilots perspective, it was they who were on the side of "right" Being born and indoctrinated into the Greater Soviet, regaled but stories of the Great Patriotic War , and how Mother Russia had defeated Nazi Tyranny, sort of puts a whole different slant on it. A good article though and an interesting read, especially on the combat effectiveness and maneuverability of the "Flagon" The Russians made some very handy bits of kit.

The R.E.8 toggle cockpit gunsight
Trotski replied to Grinseed's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Yeah, thats all well and good, the upgrade from flying death trap, to a decent fast agile effective 2 seater, will be most appreciated by the chaps in the mess, however surviving until 1918 is maybe a little on the "not liable to be the case" side old boy , now then there are these new fangled contraptions called "tanks" the PBI have been playing with, I'm sure those may be safer and more comfortable...........what could POSSIBLY go wrong eh wot wot !! -

Rather you than me flying around in a "Harry Tate" if you really want to be a glutton for punishment try it in a BE 2 .....Oh rapturous joy !! Lovely aircraft to fly, but about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle, Join the RFC they said, no more footslogging or muddy boots they said, it will be fun they said !!! -

You will find this with both FE and SF there are issues sometimes that just dont seem to make any sense at all, but there is usually a little hidden line in a .ini file that you cant see for looking , you will figure it out no doubt. It can be frustrating , but when you solve it it makes it all worth while. -
Where to begin with all the mods? (new player)
Trotski replied to gregfp66's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Loads of mods, you can if you own the complete series of SF and FE basically play any era of flight from the First World War to present day, I would recommend you can ( if you can afford to of course ) purchase all the expansions, as for example the North Atlantic scenarios add more carriers into the sim, which is very good for Vietnam, First Eagles is also very good, with an active and very much alive modding community. I would also recommend you get the DLC's as well , although they are not 100% needed to enhance the sim, there are a few mods out there that are dependant on aircraft from those DLC's . Anyway welcome to the community, it has to be , in my opinion, one of the best sim community's on the net, it is rare for a question to not be answered and addressed , everyone is helpful and supportive, so dont be afraid to ask anything at all, as there is usually someone who knows a solution to your querey.........have fun and enjoy !! .............................. -
New to SF2
Trotski replied to don246's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
I'm a big fan of FE as well as the SF series, I have done a fair few skins for FE over the years, as well as for SF, thats what is so good about this series, its so flexible and modable, I have Rise of Flight, but I just cant seem to get on with it, I have been flight simming since the 80's when I got my first 'puter, and Amstrad 664, then the Amiga revolution happened and I think I must have had just about every flight sim there was ........now I have all the SF series including FE, DCS world, which is amazing but I just crast too often ( taxing mainly hahahaha) Rise of Flight and IL2 1946.....but I keep coming back to these because they are so user friendly , not 100% accurate in all things of course, but fun !! And that is what its all about mate !! -

I got a feeling it was an overall light/medium Gray scheme, all the pictures I have looked at seem to bear this out, there only seem to be those 2 types of colour scheme , except for the Roulettes and the Fanta Can schemes. The all over Gray scheme have some interesting squadron markings with different coloured tails etc and some nice nose art on some as well. I have seen the occasional one in a darker Ocean Gray as well, but not many. -
Happy Brianmas mate !! and to all the rest of you miscreants and reprobates, have a great day, and may the up coming New Year be better than the last one !!

bloody win 10......hate hate hate ! go with a ryzen 5 or 7 the architecture is more forward compatible than the intel processors , an R5 will most likley be adequate, as unless you do a lot of video work you dont need the R7 really but if price isnt an issue just go with the 7 16gb or ram, and 2 drives an ssd for your op system ( sooooo much faster !! ) and a good quality HDD for everything else, a 1060 or equivalent GPU will do the job, 3 gb of vid memeory is enough to be honest, anything above that is not really needed , but its horses for courses, and some peeps like more vid memory, oh and a nice liquid cooling system for the CPU is desirable, and they are cheap and easy to install tnow, not like before when they were complex and awkward. Oh and nothing to stop you installing win 7 as well and dual boot the pc, until win 10 becomes good.

ooooh new Caporetto , and a new Galacia luverley Jubbley !!! -
You are welcome mate, however as Wrench said it is usually caused by aircraft models, however I guessed you were using stock aircraft so I ruled that problem out, the major issue I have with pilots casting shadows is sometimes they do just that and you end up with a shadow of a pilot underneath the aircraft , which looks really weird !!
