    This is another rework of the available A-1H Skyraider skins, this time for USMC A-1's same details as the previous upload for the USN versions. 3 of which are generic USMC airframes, the bu numbers etc are also generic as not many A1's were in use with the Marines in Vietnam as most of the squadrons had re equipped with A4's by then. included are VMA 212 generic VMA 225 VMA 251 generic VMA 331 VMA 333 the reworked data.ini to stop the clipping issue Decals All the Sounds needed weapons Pilot ( a different one from the USN one ) lo res screens if you need them as with the previous skins I have re-enabled the wingfold system,and the canopy so the usual shift-9 for the wings and shift-0 for the canopy Enjoy, fly safe, and give 'em hell.

    yes I basically copied all your hard work , you did it so well originally that it transferred to the new skin beautifully, well chuffed that I didn't have to do it from scratch. as there are no lods for the aircraft, it is a bit of a sod to get decal placements just right, and I really didnt want to go down the decal route with it for the BEE.

View File A-1H Skin Pack This is a rework of the available A-1H Skyraider skins, the project started when I noticed there was a clipping issue on the original user made skins, after the stock aircraft had been made flyable etc. being an OCD sufferer I couldn't live with it, so I had to comb the DATA.INI of the aircraft to find the issue, which I never didi, probably one number out of place , or something of that nature. So I re did the whole data file, using a frankenstien of a couple of the available ones, mainly Wrench's , so worry ye not good campers, very little has been altered, so the A/C still operates as Wrench intended, just NO CLIPPING !!! ................YAY !! RESULT !! HAPPY BLOODY DANCE !! ...... Anyhow, I then went on to re do all the skins, utilising the templates from bot Wrench, and Nyghtfall, so a mix and match of those as well, I hope you like and enjoy the results !! Included are VA-35 VA-52 ( two versions, one dirty one clean , the clean one has new decals for the squadron markings made by me ) VA-65 (Early version ) VA-65 ( USS Enterprise ) VA-85 VA-105 ( A really shiny pristine skin ) VA-176 (USS Shangri La ) VA-176 (USS Intrepid) the reworked data.ini to stop the clipping issue Decals ( of course....no use without 'em as I have altered theDECAL.INI of all the skins , 'cos I like to make trouble harharhar ) All the Sounds needed Finally the weapons ie drop tanks and the bog bomb, and the Pilot I myself use for this aircraft, oh yes and all the screens, both in hi res, and lo res if you need lo res screens for any reason. One final note, on the VA-176 ( Intrepid ) skin, two of the aircraft have kill markings, I have put the entry to enable those in the DECAL.INI of that particular aircraft, however I have them disabled, as in reality the Bu Numbers of the skins and the Actual aircraft are not the same, and I couldnt be bothered to make the correct bu numbers for thos 2 particular aircraft, however if you do not have OCD, and you want the marking showing ( they are keyed to the correct nose numbers ) the just remove the hash marks in the DECAL.INI [Decal019] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT //FilenameFormat=A-1H/VA176a/D/kills <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< THAT THERE !!! Position=-0.70,0.70 Scale=0.55 DecalMaxLOD=3 Thats about it, please enjoy, and please leave feedback if you like...........................cheers !! OH yes, I forgot one last thing, I have re-enabled the wingfold system, , yes , yes I know its not perfect, as it leaves the stores hanging in a weightless environment, but hey ho, if ya dont like it, eith re disable it or , simply ignore it !! so canopy opens with SHIFT-0 and the wingfold is SHIFT-9.     yes if you watch the film suspending all belief, then it is a fun movie I suppose, some nice air to air filming in there, Iron Eagle II was horrible though, nay dreadful

Couldn't agree more with Streak's comments, at the very least have the base sim and Europe, however having all the titles and the DLC's is certainly worth while, as finances allow of course, First Eagles is a good 'un too if you can afford it, modded to the hilt as well.....Nato fighters is superb, as are Vietnam and the Israel campaigns, just buy the stuff slowly, as the sim is here for the duration I think, so there is no rush to get everything NOW

  18. Yes its one of the not so good aspects of the sim, and spoils the immersion just a bit, it is a shame they dont land and taxi back to dispersal, like you can do, but its not there, like in flight refuelling etc, but the rest of the sim makes up for it in other ways though.

    yes you need to adjust one of the variables for the pilot in the data.ini of the particular aircraft you want to adjust the pilot in , if you scroll down to where the pilot you have installed is in the Data.ini file, you will see something like this [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=PilotFrench40 SeatID=1 SetCockpitPosition=TRUE Position=-0.252,6.35,0.71 MinExtentPosition=-0.6,6.9,0.1 MaxExtentPosition= 0.1,5.9,1.6 SeatModelName= SeatPosition= CanopyNodeName= You need to play with the "position" variables, I cant remember which one off the top of my head, but adjusting that variable will move the pilot in any direction ie. up, down left , right, however, be aware the pilot may be in the right place, in which case you may just need to tweak the seat position.

    As I said, Sometimes the whole setup defies logic, however, there ALWAYS seem to be work arounds, and eventually pretty much everything works, I in your case, would ensure from now on, that the prop spin files are deposited firmly in both directories, as, firstly they aren't huge files, and secondly that will mos likely end the particular issue you have concerning this, I assume that your coppy of FE2 is fully patched up and sorted.....silly question I know, but sometimes we do forget to do stuff like that, even us old hands.......Well.....this old hand anyway, but then I'm completely head shot, and enjoy getting problems , as this gives me the great satisfaction of swearing horribly at my monitor, I have yet to work out whether this action actually has any beneficial effects on the smooth running of FE/SF I expect Wrench may not agree, 'cos he is a sorted and logical bloke, and must be regarded ( along with several other people ) as a God like creature who must be worshipped, paid lots of baksheesh, and bought beer at any and all opportunities !!! l Anyhow.....I dissemble, and prevaricate, I agree with your comment about the fun to be had modding the sim, that is what makes this series of sims so brilliant, we have only really scratched the surface of what may actually be possible, however with out access to the original code, we have to soldier on with what we have, and as far as I am concerned, and I have played most flight sims, this series is one of the mos accessible and fun ones available.........And it is nice to see new mrember of FE/SF community coming on board !!

    Hmmmmm no idea why that may be, it certainly shouldnt be like that, the sample file I posted up for you there, there are no prop files in any of the skin folders at all........do me a favour, and download the aircraft I have used as an example, and lay it out exactly the same way as mine is, then let me know what happens please. The sim both FE and SF can sometimes seem to do inexplicable stuff, I spent nearly 3 hours today trying to get decals working on an SF aircraft, and I have no idea why it wouldnt work when all the other 7 skins for the same aircraft did.......I eventually got fed up and copied the skin and decal settings over from basically the same aircraft, but just a differnt mark of the same, and lo and behold, it worked.....weird.......you usually find it is the tinyest thing that is causing a snag, and staring for hours on end at it, swearing a lot, and waving your hands around does sometimes have the desired effect hehehehehehe
