To Partition or Not to Partition?

I dual boot with XP and Win 7. I have 2 hard drives. One is 320GB and that is partitioned 100GB for Win7 + programmes (and it will soon need expanding, I think) and the rest will be used to mess around with Ubuntu. The second hard drive is 1 TB and is partitioned 85GB for XP + programmes and the rest is used for storing data and this partition is regularly backed up to an external hard drive. I also reguarly make an ISO image of my Win 7 installation. I primarily use Win 7 so I'm saving data to a seperate hard disk - a seperate partition would work just the same. -

Excellent, UK. Just what I've been looking for. Solves a few problems for me. -

That's it.....had enough and just booked some late flights to Italy. Leaving tomorrow morning for 11 days of good wine, good food, great people, and relaxation. Bliss. Will finaly sort my joystick out when I return. Wish me Buon Viaggio chaps and I'll see you all when I'm refreshed.

The pizza is great - much better than yucky deep-pan stuff - especially when cooked in traditional pizza ovens. Found a place that offers over 40 different toppings and all the ones I've had there are excellent. Trouble is that it is so popular you need to book early and turning up on the off chance of a table being available ofeten ends in disappointment. Olham, I know I am a lucky blighter and it has just been circumstances/fate that have made it so. It also helps to have family there .

No, but I think the inhabitants of Isola Magiore must have got a great view of the battle from the top - splendid view.

In the time-honoured tradition of holiday postcards this one has arrived after my return.

Grazie, Olham. I understood you perfectly. Proverò a trasmettere una cartolina. Una buona idea. Ciao tutti.

That's warm for Austria this time of year, isn't it? It will be nice if the weather's good but it's the break more than anything at the moment. Just need to chill out by the pool with a cold beer or 2.

About time someone said it like it is. Thanks for posting, UK. :good:for Billy Connolly too - only he could get away with it. Von Paulus, nicely put. -
As uncleal says, if your using windows 7 try running TrackIR in Administator Mode. If you haven't got win7 then I don't know but someone will come along and solve it for you for sure.

That is some really talented pilot.

Welcome, Trackpad. A bunch of friendly chaps you'll find here. Some went on a bender with Lou the other day but I was flying so I'm free and able to partake now and mine's a pint of Spitfire please. Models??? do tell.

I've got a Thrustmaster T1600M and it's been just great on my win7 machine. Just lately though it's been a problem. I start TrackIR and use the button on the joystick that I've set to "centre" to check all is OK. Start OFF. Start my mission and during my flight my stick suddenly fails to work resulting in an aborted mission. When exiting OFF and checking in "devices", although my stick is shown none of it appears to work. If I then unplug it and plug it back in and recheck in "devices", all is well. It then cuts off again later. I'm at my wits end with it. All my other USB devices work in all of my ports so this leads me to suspect the stick itself - maybe a faulty connection somewhere? If I can't get this resolved then I need another stick and I'm reluctant to get another of these. Can anyone recommend a good, mid-priced stick? It needs to be compatible for win 7 64bit, left-handed or ambidextrous, and a twist stick. All help gratefully received.

I'll try and get some electrical cleaner tomorrow and give it a go. Funnily enough, Von Paulus, the green light doesn't go out, it's still on. I've tried it in all of my USB ports and no different. At the moment the only other usb devices attached are my backup hard drive and TrackIR. The hard drive is switched off so that leaves TrackIR. I could disconnect that and see what happens if you think it's worth it. It looks more and more like a new JS though.
