Absolutely no offense taken . Sorry if you thought I was offended - that wasn't my intention. -
Very good. Thanks for posting. Did you notice the tail wheels?

A little OT, but I have a strange affinity with tigers since I was privileged enough to see one in the wild no more than 10 feet away. She was with 2 cubs and obviously saw us as no threat. The reason I say "strange" is because a good friend of mine was a tiger keeper at a zoo and was killed by one. I totally agree with you WM the world would be a much better place if more of us got closer to nature to enjoy it rather than to destroy it. -
I use OCZ psu's and have found them to be reliable and good value. Not sure if they're available in the States, I get mine here in the UK. I feel for you though, Capt. It's hard when you're strapped for cash.

Lord Sidney Bugritt Field. It's Field because at the time of my birth my parents lived in an old railway carriage in a field. -
Do you use a dedicated simpit?

I suppose, really, that we should all be sitting on a plank of wood or wicker chair and have a fan blowing cold wind in our faces. -
Thanks for that, BB. I suppose the CD multichanger is out of the question too.

All they can refer me to there is the book "Sopwith, The Man and his Aircraft" which has pictures of said aircraft. Not good enough detail for me though. I've got a copy of some 1/10 scale plans that were made from those pictures (and I beleive now that they are the only pics in existence) but I want to go to at least 1/6 and maybe 1/4 scale so I need more cockpit detail. The plus side is that if I make it up no-one can tell me it's wrong .

Thanks, uncleal. I've looked there and found nothing. Perhaps I should build something that was more common but I can't leave it alone now.

Didn't think of that, Lewie. Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Happy birthday to whoever has one today

Isn't it amazing what difference good wingmen make. There were 8 of us on our mission to defend an airfield. During our 1hr 25min flight we encountered a total of 19 Albatri . Our flight came back minus 1 man who had been posted with us yesterday. A sad loss but, at the same time, a tremendous show of flying and fighting skill by my wingmen. Drinks all round chaps and one for poor ol' Joe as well .

Most successful mission yet

Not 1918. I'm flying with squadron 56 in May 1917. We didn't meet 19 craft all at once but in 3 seperate incidents - first there we 8 that we disposed of, then 7 and lastly 4. Still a lot though. I've never come across that many before in 1917. -
Shiloh, thick clouds can be a death trap to the unwary - lots of turbulence. If you must fly through them you need to keep a sharp eye on your speed, height, and compass. As far as TrackIr goes, it won't be long before you find yourself turning your head to check your six when watching Hellshade's videos .

P4 DEVELOPMENT SCREENSHOTS UPDATED
tranquillo replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I have studied the P4 screenies again and I've drawn the conclusion that the Devs are latter day Robert Johnsons. They have been to the very same crossroads and made a deal with the devil. There is no other way to explain what they have achieved - it's devil's work. No mere mortal could do what they have done. We will make our sacrifices of gold and silver in order to get our fix of P4. We will sink into darkness as we withdraw from normal life and seek solace from our joysticks. We will find that we cannot be away from the PC for any length of time without getting the shakes and shouting "Got you, you bastard". People will look at us more strangely than they did before as we sit in our cars, staring aimlessly ahead and muttering "Contact, clear". Life will be great. Let's hear it for the Devs. Hip, hip.........hooray. -
I was patrolling behind enemy lines today at about 11000ft when archie scored a direct hit. My tailplane was extensively damaged, all 4 wings were blown off, and then my engine burst into flames. The result was that I "Landed behind enemy lines but managed to escape after 2 days". Phew, that's a relief - thought I was a gonna there. Naturally I did the honourable thing and retired the pilot. I wonder if this kind of thing will be fixed for P4?
-
I do usually "roll the die" but couldn't accept that there was anyway I'd survive that.
-
It reminds me a little of this. Except I had no wings instead of 4.

I think the fire would have killed me before I got too far down. It takes a long time to fall 11000ft and that fire was raging and I was nose down - no way to escape that. Even if I did, I don't think nurse Gladys would have the skills to put me back together again. I could be wrong of course, and I deprived the war effort of a valueable pilot. Is that treason?

I envy you your Snipe, UK. It looks fabulous. I used to have lights on stalks in my MGB but they were for reading maps. -

I still can't believe that this is the CFS engine . -
Damn - did I really fly OFF on this?
tranquillo replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I've been thinking about overclocking too. I run a Phenom II 550 (Black Edition) and that with my mobo is open to a good overclock apparently. It is a bit scary though and at 3.1 at the moment it handles OFF really well. If I had the cash to pay for another mobo, cpu etc. then I'd say "what the hell" and have a go. But............ -
What do your landings look like ?
tranquillo replied to carrick58's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Don't know what all the fuss is about . I've never had any trouble and, Uncleal, I can land the SE5a no problem - no bounces at all . Seriously, though, I think it depends a lot on the crate and what you fly often. In RL you wouldn't be changing aircraft every 5 minutes - fly a plane often enough and you get used to it. Keep your eye on speed, height, and look over the side too - that'll help with the flare-out for landing. JFM. I heartily agree with you regarding the trees. I frequently curse nature for putting a tree in the way. Surely they were cut down .
