  1. There are many people who can't wait for TFA to come out.
  2. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

Thanks all Yes, Pixie is gone, bless im!... I didn't think I would get down in time as on that first hit he was down to 50% health and steadily dropping. It was either get down quick and land, but I was well over sausage side and it would be capture anyway, or chance my arm to see if I could outrun those two behind. After loosing Fritz and co, I ran the gauntlet at low altitude over the Jerry lines, but I think Pixie was hit again by ground fire as he yelped out loud... I made friendly lines and put straight down near our trenches. Health was now at 20% as I shut the engine down and exited the game. I was informed I had landed successfully and a load of other gumph so I thought I'd cheeked it... then I was informed I had died of my injuries, lol! Oh well, I have enjoyed the ride and will keep glued to the forums to see how you are all fairing! Remember to keep checking your arse-end... you just might find a sausage nosher creeping up on you!
  3. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

2nd Lt Pixie Turkington Smythe. 17 Nov 1917. Attack on enemy Troop Lager, Sector FA 6102. It's a fine day to clobber Fritz, let's hope they aren't expecting a surprise party. 'A' flight is with us today, so we are up in force. Approaching the target area and making our descent when a huge bunch of Hun albatros appear below us. All thoughts of attacking the camp went out the window, as Mannock, Tud, McIrish, Billy Graham and Pixie all dived down onto the enemy machines. Pixie soon found himself on the tail of a red, white and blue albatros... three good bursts into him and belching smoke it turned over and dived towards the ground. Suddenly, Pixie felt a hammer blow to his back... he still had control of his aeroplane and dived in a tight spiral. Looking back he could see another albatros, a red and blue one, firing but just missing as he tightened his turn... he knew he was hit and his head hurt now and things were getting darker and blurred. His S.E.5 had sustained some hits but he still had power and control, but he knew he had to outrun his now two pursuers and try to make for the lines. He put her nose down and gave it full throttle... The enemy machines followed him all the way to the lines but eventually turned away... he'd outrun them! He could hardly see now, but there was a track he thought he could land on if his luck still held... Pixie did land his aeroplane... within friendly lines, but sadly, by the time an infantry section could get to him he had succumbed to his wounds.

Sorry Rick, don't know what happened there... 4 kills not 40
  5. SH3 - U-33's back at sea!

Is there any penalty for sinking Neutral flagged ships? (regardless of tonnage credited)
  6. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

I think Rick stated that we could do 3 minimum, or up to 7 maximum per week if I remember right...
  7. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

Well done to everyone for this first week in 'our war'... most are still alive and kicking, despite mishaps and mayhem. Hope we all make it through the next week!

  12. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

It's ok Rick... I just need to express myself more (by killing more Huns) But then again, I am one of the 20 minuters!
  13. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

God, I only did the minimum, 3 missions I have to up my game!
  14. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

2nd Lt Pixie Turkington Smythe. 15 Nov 1917. Out on patrol once more, and full of enthusiasm after his recent victories, Pixie get's himself into the thick of it again. Pixie submitted three claims after the patrol. Two were confirmed, one denied... He begins to wonder if all patrols are going to be as hectic.
  15. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

Crikey catch... hope your man comes through!
  16. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

Well done H and Balders, and what a great shot of the Vickers, ready to dish out 'Rule .303' to Fritz! And Rick, you had pockets full of luck on your last flight... and did I duck when you had that first 'head on' with that albatros!
  17. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

2nd Lt Pixie Turkington Smythe. 15 Nov 1917. Hurrah and Huzzah!... The C.O. has recommended my claims confirmed. And to top that a citation from His Majesty.
  18. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

Wrong Wrigley... This one kept talking about 'Wriggley Tin'... Whatever that is?
  19. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

Thanks Rick, it was a cracking mission... sad to say though, the B Flight pilot that was killed in the collision was 2nd Lt Ethan Wrigley :(
  20. What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?

2nd Lt Pixie Turkington Smythe. 13 Nov 1917. Pixie couldn't believe it... his claim from the last mission was rejected. Apparently the ack ack artillery chaps had said that they had got that albatros, and it seemed the C.O. believed them! As he sat in the cockpit and glared at Mc Irish and Mc Scotch before start up, he pondered why their claims never seemed to be disputed... it's just not fair! Couple that with the lousy weather his mood darkened. Once his engine was running and warming up he was positive that this time he would show them... he'd go all out to bag another hun. Once they had taken off and formed up and started to gain height, he forgot about his foul mood and concentrated on his flying. He hoped that the other two chaps, Wrigley and Sgt Graham on the other side of his aeroplane would come through todays patrol along with the rest of B Flight. Suddenly, the flight broke up and climbed hard... he couldn't work it out, we still had a good way to go to the lines. Then to his horror, half a dozen Pfalz scouts were diving on A Flight above, and then to add to the unfolding event, one of A Flight had collided with someone in B Flight! Soon Pixie had other thing to worry about. Two of the huns had singled him out and for several minutes he was fighting for his life. Eventually, he managed to get on the tail of one of the hun machines, and they fought like cat and dog above Camblain-l'Abbe aerodrome for all to see. The German pilot eventually had to land just north of the drome, as Pixie had damaged his engine... He had done it again. Surely he would get a 'confirmed' this time? Pixie looked around, he was alone... one minute, mayhem all around, the next, nothing... but wait, what's that? A hun machine was making for the lines. He might just catch him before he crosses... Pixie gave chase. Slowly, very slowly he was gaining. As he drew near they crossed friendly lines. Now was his chance! Pixie opened fire and the German reacted immediately. The dance began again from the middle of 'no mans land' and towards the German lines. The German was damaged as Pixie's fire found its mark. Suddenly, his enemy lost control and went into a steep dive and didn't stop until he smashed into the ground, right next to the German trenches... Pixie had scored again! With this fight over, 2nd Lt Turkington Smythe headed back over the lines and returned to a friendly drome. He felt elated and exhausted. Would he be vindicated now... would his two victories actually count this time?
