  1. Very nice work! I saw one in Virginia Beach, flying out of Oceana... My wife and I were on vacation and just about to pull out of a steak house after supper. I stopped the car and jumped out with my camera; wife got one more example of nutty airplane behavior as I ran around the car trying to get a shot...
  2. Does DDS have a transparency layer?
  3. P-47C Any plans to round out the line with D23 and D25 - D28 bubbletops?
  4. Well, in my (tiny) mind, the hardest part of a terrain is having a high quality set of terrain tiles to use. The other stuff are just details... Hi-Fi Terrain Tiles are works of art. Any fine sets available for use? Some things are easily farmed out in sections for group effort...
  5. WW2 WIPS

I'm just really glad for the guy making the hi-fi P-47-D23 and D25, and also the hi-fi Me109K...
  6. Uh, yeah, "combined effort modders" was going to be my second choice... yeah...
  7. "CEM"??? Crusty Egghead Modders?
  8. news blackout?

That'll wake you up! Run, photog, run!
  9. Required reading for prop modders: "Report of Joint Fighter Conference NAS Patuxent River, MD 16-23 OCT 1944" published by Schiffer Military History... "America's Hundred Thousand: US Production fighters of World War Two", by Francis Dean, published by schiffer Both have hard data, comparative data charts, direct comparisons and written commentary by pilots who flew them individually or at the fighter conference for direct comparison...
  10. New Bike

Thanks! White wheels are a @#%^#% to keep clean...
  11. Very nice Sunderland! You do very well with large aircraft. I would really love to see your B17G for WWII Europe...
  12. Judge Rules Against Stolen Valor Act

One should neither exaggerate nor denigrate their military service. Just putting on the uniform is tough enough... In reality, I was an E4 in the US Army infantry and went to Airborne school and NBC Defense school... Pretty mundane compared to most veterans here! For the record, for those who don't know the history behind my online handle, "Major Lee" is a fictional persona that dates back to my EAW flight sim days, my old, old website and some fictional stories I had written...
  13. New Bike

Nice bike! What a fine German machine... I just have this old one...
  14. "cumulo-granite" Danged invisible rocks...
  15. It's an old issue about the way and order in which things are drawn... TK knows about it, but this is probably the only map that can produce this issue... He said it would take some fancy rewrite to correct...
  16. Could you post a pic of mountains above the solid overcast... Thanks ML
  17. The ultimate shovel

It slices, it dices, it makes holes in the ground.... and you can party afterward!
  18. Dayton Air Show 2010

Nice shot! i love the beverage compartment on the Cobra...
  19. EAA AirVenture 2010

well dang... I checked the EAA website and no Thunderbolt... everything but the kitchen sink, but no P-47... I do look forward to any pics you will post...
  20. Happy Birthday Soulfreak!

    Happy Birthday!
  21. Hi Wrench, you couldn't find a "readme" because there wasn't one in the original zip... Does SF2 draw the mountains above a solid cloud layer? In solid overcast, SF doesn't draw the mountain tops above the clouds, but they show up on TFR and they most certainly are there, just invisible... Great job with the update! ML
  22. I would second "Rupert Red Two", by Jack Broughton... P-47s to the Thunderbirds... "Hell Hawks: the Untold Story of the American Fliers Who Savaged Hitler's Wehrmacht" by Door and Jones, about the 365th FG... "Boyd: the Fighter Pilot Who Changed the Art of War", by Robert Coram... Just get a copy and read it...
  23. EAA AirVenture 2010

Hey, I just found out that the Huey didn't make the show. Seems it had transmission problems enroute and landed in a field somewhere... Oh well... Any P-47s???
  24. You're on the credits list, Russ. I even saw my name on the credits list too... I can't for the life of me figure out what they used that I worked on???? Well, whatever it was, I hope it suits the purpose. Great looking set up!! ML
