  2. I took a look into Bunyap campaign short tutorial but I am stuck. I changed in the ini file the terrain name and it gives a CTD with error in campaign "dll".
  3. I DID in my FIRST post, here it is: If I wanna add a gun to a plane that doesn't have it, should the aircraft model include the gun model, too or is there another way to add it ? I noticed that copying the files needed into data.ini file won't do.(config gun itself and the system entry into the plane nose) However, what is that a fake pilot (I know what the words mean) ? And how do you build "it"? "MAX" is some kind of editor where you build a model ?

I am sorry for this missunderstanding.I tried to be clear. Well what you said I took it into consideration but I can't manage it practically...I need to know exactly WHAT to modify. For instance , how do you acces the Israel2 ver2.5 terrain into a campaign. I tried a few combinations but the terrain is not available for campaign, it's available just for the missions.
  5. Ok, I asked you because Wrench send me to YOU, he said that YOU are the builder of the terrain, that is why I asked you. Well I have an idea now what is to be done but what are the strategic nodes exactlly ? I studied the terrain stock file and yours, and there are things I don't get it. Your terrain work because it emulates through GERMANYCE CAT the....IsraelME terrain, a sort I got it right. So it's not clear with what CAT should I work when make a campaign. How can I set a target which is practically into IsraalME terrain , if I have just the Germany CAT ? When you explain , please take into consideration that I am a novice into modding. I know a few thing and I understand how some things work and can be changed but that's it. Thank you
  6. It doesn't work that way my friend. If it would I hadn't been here. It doesn't work to add the gun as system part into aircraft NOSE system and copy the gun file just like that :). If you do all these...the gun effect will be there but the gun (graphic model)...not;). It would be just like you fire with an invisible gun. The gun MODEL it's not there on the aircraft. You may try all these if you don't believe me. I did that before coming here asking for help.
  7. Well I looked into KB, Intermediate Modding/Adding Weapons/Basic Aircraft Modding (INI, Skins, Weapon Hardpoints) but there is no GUN tutorial, only for weapons. I want to add a...gun to an aircraft. Maybe it's just me but I don't see any gun adding tutorial into KB. Maybe someone can direct me on the right path or tell me how to do it, practically.(adding the gun)

  10. I tried all sort of combinations, first I modified them from minbase LARGE to MEDIUM and I placed them to medium , with 3 squadrons at least, airstrip. Then I let them to LARGE and I placed them ONLY on the large airstrip (with 6 squadrons) - airfield type 4. I even let them one squadron for one airstrip or I put them to airstrip which had no squadrons at all (Mezze, Marj as Sultan) so I don't think here is the problem... By the way I tried your Israel 2 ver 2.5 terrain. It has a mosque in the middle of Insash airfield :). I moved it 1 km away. (I included the picture, take a look) Another question is ...how can I play , let's say the WOI campaigns on your terrain? What files should I modify to work ?
  11. I solved the issue. There was a TER feature there which I failed to notice it. And of course, silly me , instead of dealing with loadout.ini file itself I was losing time scruting the data aircraft ini file.Thx!
  12. I got into a dead end and I don't understand how this is working . I wanted to add two more Mavericks to F-16A on a pylon that default didn't allow EOGRs but in the weapon loading screen, the game loads (accordingly to what I suggested in load.ini file) 6 Mavericks instead of two. I studied the data aircraft ini file , the weapons stations but I don't find the problem. I know that some aicraft , in past had something like this "2IRM" etc which doubled the load on the pylon. What script /setting/file controls these figures , multiples of 2 (2,4,6) ? How can I "program" to load just two missiles ?

  14. is there an updated terrain mod for WOV(SF1) stock, in terms of graphic quality ? I saw on Deuces site something but it's something wrong with that mod , is has only a file with...snow only:)

Yeah, I know it's an interceptor (it's main role) but in this game it's a kindda waste because if you fire those semi active missile (Acrid)...there is no effect, the israelian aircraft have all chaff (except shahak I think) and they avoid it very easily. I shot down just one lost shahak once in 100% confruntations (more than 30). You have a chance only if you are close enough to fire an Atoll (the only way I shot down a F-15 and two F4s) but there was always a catch, you need two or three missiles to effectively shot down those planes, as if they had a protective "wall"..:).Weird... I have a question. How does a pilot, in real combat situation know to avoid a sidewinder , for instance, if you shoot it from 5 km away , when he doesn't hear any warning sound? It seems impossible...How can you see something from 5 km coming to you with 2 mach ? I ask that because you said one evades sidewinder relying only by ...visual.

  17. Not all the time. I checked the log file after flight and sometimes I got shot down after a AIM-7 semi active missile was fired. If I don't hear an acoustic when the missile is firet at me(or comming in my direction) or to have a special key view to the direction the missile is coming from...there is no way to avoid it just making acrobacy. That was my point. It's all pure luck to a certain extent. Concerning the IR sidewinder, the voice of wingmen comes too late to let me avoid it . Plus there is very confusing because the voices letting you know a missile was fired are for the wingmen too, (for all crews in fact on all the map) and not just only for me. In other flight sims you get an acoustic signal when missile is fired at you, so you know for certain and you can make some calculation to avoid it (you see it in the radar where it comes from etc), because you know from the radar where the one who shot it is.(F-22 ADF for instance).But is true , that is o modern fighter, as someone pointed out here above. So what I was saying in my previous post was that I look for a way like the situations when I can evade the SAM missiles fired at me(I hear acoustic when they come at me, I hear when the SAM has a lock on me, I see on radar what is the direction they come from to me etc) and I HAVE a real chance to avoid them. Trust me I KNOW that is not quite realistic for that era (there is no sound), but not hard realism I'm craving for:)
  18. I tried some simple missions with MIG-25PD. Well...The Israelis seem too tough. I managed in 10 missions to score two F-15s and two Phantoms (with my sq included, not by myself). The thing I think it's missing is...the air-air missile RWR. I noticed you have one but for surface-to-air missiles. Can be modded such a "device" or am I too naiv ? I skimmed the aircraft files but I don't have a clue where to start from.

  20. I want to add a MIG-25 and I would like to keep the minimum medium airstrip setting. I had a look into terrain CAT (WOI) but I couldn't find something useful. I extracted the region bitmap though. Now if I knew which airstrip are medium I could know how to place the MIG , into campaign data file correctly. Any thoughts where should I start looking ?
  21. I found a solution. I didn't know if you let it with TRANSPORT task , the game engine takes it randomly. I thought there is something else to be done. But meanwhile I found another way. I added another squadron into the campaign ini file with its features and tweaking a little its files. I added as main task RECON and let second transport. I started the campaign and after the fourth mission it appeared. It was not in flock as someone pointed here though.It was alone and was moving in north/north west, to the sea. To be sure it's not a certain pray for any AI aircraft I changed its "intelligence" to 90 and it behaved very well. It evaded all my four AIM-7F missiles, throwing chaff. Well it is somekind of an old AWACS, it looks fine and gives the game a special "flavour". If you don't know how it looks check it out on the download section.   22. Which are the files which governs the randomness of that An-12 transport flight in WOI ? I would like to switch or add a Tu-126 I found (very beautiful model) here on download section. I hope its path is not hardcoded....
  23. No, I was playing the Israel side. I noticed anyway what you pointed out , because all antiship missions were with zero after equal sign.
  24. I manged to solve just the MIG-23MS issue. It worked after I matched the aircraft role with the ones in the campaign data ini file and after I changed minbase from MEDIUM to SMALL. Regarding the terrain for the waypoints issue and that strange behavior with the antiship mission , I forgot to say that I am using the stock terrain, so no other modified or something. Well I'm happy I solve the MIG issue and the gun sound. Thank you you all for help That F-15 squadron and the sudden end of the campaign it's a mistery, though.
