  1. 777 crashes at Heathrow

You know, sometimes I read some really stupid stuff on this forum but I usually bite my tongue and don't say anything, but this time it's gone too far. Don't be an idiot... we all know that the aliens are too busy hiding Elvis on a emu ranch in Utah to have time to screw with airplanes. Clearly, it was the work of vegetarian Mongolian nihilists.
  2. Cloverfield

Hey, giants ants are nothing to laugh about. "Them" scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. Nearly had a coronary when I got an ant farm for my birthday that year.
  3. I LOVE Americans!

I'm not Jewish, but I did get my degree in history, and there is no disputing that so much of western civilization (irrespective of religion) can be traced back to that area. I would love to visit to see the places that played such an important part in the history of man.
  4. I keep reading about networking the SAM's /AAA, but have no idea how to do that (or undo that for that matter) . Is it a simple .ini tweak?
  5. DVD burners

Thanks for the replies guys. It clears things up for me.
  6. 777 crashes at Heathrow

As everyone has pointed out... thank God there were no serious injuries. And from what little I've heard so far, kudos to the crew for handling the situation so well.
  7. How many hours?

I can't remember when I started in on flight sims, but it had to be 10-15 years ago. PLay has been sporadic with periods of up to a year or more between "flight" time so I can't even begin to guess how much time I've spent on them. What I've noticed lately is that I spend more time modding and tweaking the games than I do actually flying; in fact I can't remeber the last "flight" I took, but I 've been fiddling with the TW series nearly daily for months.
  8. Happy Birthday To....

    Cheers and Happy B-day guys!
  9. Another shot at London.

Had plans on visiting a friend in London,UK last summer but they fell through. Trying again this year (10 days in late June)and it looks like it's a go. Already have plane tickets and I'll be staying with a friend so I don't have to worry about a hotel. So I'll ask again (because maybe some things have changed in the last year)but, anyone have any "must see" or "avoid at all costs" ideas?
  10. Another shot at London.

I don't know about that. I don't think I've met a beer yet that I didn't make friends with. I'm actually really looking forward to trying some of the local favorites.
  11. Another shot at London.

    Thanks all for the suggestions.
  12. Damn! this is sad:(

Who's to say it's related to his time spent deployed? If no one knows why, and he left no info behind, then it's entirely possible that his suicide had nothing to do with what he experienced while deployed. Either way, it's a terrible shame that he didn't get the help he needed. The sad thing about suicide is that so many people suffer in silence and believe that there is no other answer, and the family and loved ones are left behind to wonder, "what if?"
  13. No, I'm wrong. I just checked it out and there was no Okinawa terrain. Burma, China, New Guinea, Solomon, and Phillipines, but no Okinawa. Sorry. The Pats comment would deserve something more nefarious but I'm a bit too hungover to think of anything.
  14. Isn't there a WW2 Okinawa map over at Avsim?
  15. Maybe giving them a bottle of scotch or a case of beer will make them more cooperative. On looking back I think that maybe that screenshot came from a YAP mission, in which case the FAC may have been "programmed" rather than just an auto-generated thing.
  16. It is a pretty good terrain and it has plenty of interesting targets.
  17. GO AWAY.....

True, they are getting obviously screwed. The present system makes no sense, so they have a valid case.
  18. GO AWAY.....

From what I've heard, the writers on reality shows kind of review what's going on with the "cast" and then plan/write scenarios to hopefully prod things along and create conflict/tension (which supposedly makes good TV). For instance, on Survivor, if they notice certain "cast" arguing over food, they could "write" in a scenario in which the camera guys pay special attention to those cast during dinnertimes or during food challenges. Though I would hardly call that writing.
  19. This is an old screen shot, but I'm pretty sure I'm rolling in on a target marked by the FAC.
  20. One down and a tough one next.

There's a difference between ego and confidence; between arrogance and knowledge of one's own self-worth. The Pat's have no delusions about the quality of their competition, but they know what they are capable of when they play their "A" game. You'll never see a Patriot "gauranteeing a win" because they understand what can happen when you underestimate the opponent. Doesn't mean they'll win, but they won't have an ego about it. Packers didn't surprise me, but Indy did. I thought the Chargers would have a hard time containing the Indy offense while putting up points themselves. As a Pats fan I'm a little more comfortable going up against the CHargers next rather than Indy. Not having to contend with Manning, a serious playmaker and true champion player, is a bit of relief. THough the CHargers will bring plenty of problems. THe Dallas/Giants game was a bit of a surprise; but a good game.
  21. GO AWAY.....

A very good point. I'll go laong with you on that one!
  22. OTC is on page 5 of theCampaign/Mission pages. It comes in two downloads; the planes, and everything else. Link: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3874 http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3873
  23. GO AWAY.....

I watched the some of the first season of survivor because I thought that's what they would be doing. You know, finding food, building shelter, etc. I didn't realize it was some sort of competitive game show that could just as easily be filmed in an office building than some exotic location. I mean, the producers either give or withhold everything they need/use so why do they really need to be out in the jungle? They could lock them anywhere and do the same thing. Haven't wached it since.
  24. Welcome aboard. I'm not into LOMAC myself, but I'm sure you'll meet planty here who are.
