I don't think you should hear them at all. You shouldn't be able to hear anything but your own engines, maybe your machine guns. Those straight pipe engines were loud and they are right in front of you and the exhaust pipes are pointed in your direction. Flack if it is close enough you could hear because it was non expected sound in the loud drone of the engine, and remember you probably had ear plugs in.

Yep, it works either way, horizontal or vertical.

Not meaning to derail this but,.... I have recently started to use a thingy called SmoothTrack, which is a phone app the uses the phone's camera with a freeware program called Opentrack (I think that can be used with Facetrack). Anyhoo, I needed this because my home office has south facing windows that blind the TrackIR, which I have used for years, but can only use in hours of darkness. It was only a $9.99 app so I gave it a try and am pretty pleased with it, though I a still tinkering with the settings, but at least now I fly during the day. Beard

Observation on Winter trees (Might just be me?)

What are your detail settings, if they are all on five it is pretty sharp, but it will cost you FPS. -
Problem in campaign mission
Burning Beard replied to Eddie09's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
When you come out of the briefing room with the assigned mission it will list the actual pilots assign to the flight. The before the briefing room screen shows the pilots that are available. -
Mixture Control for Caudron G4
Burning Beard replied to mandrews_2's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Just guessing I would think you have to adjust the mixture for each engine individually. If you look in engine controls in the key mapping in Workshops, there are individual controls for up to four engines. -
2-seaters NOT taking off
Burning Beard replied to veltjens's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
I have been flying a Lafayette Escadrille campaign flying N-10s and have found during recent missions the planes are not taking off as expected. I keep the flight instructor up because I like to know altitudes and other things that are expected during the mission and it has an interesting feature, it tells you when you are supposed to take off. Anyhoo, in the last few missions the flight leader and other members just sit there with their engines running, but I take off at the appointed time not following the others, then sure enough they take off, catch up and form up as usual. Maybe this is the problem. -
WoFF PE skins question.

Yes, they are. -
How to save pilot head position?
Burning Beard replied to catch's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
On the DH2 just hit F6 and it will line you up with the gunsight, you can still look around with TracIr but you center will be the gunsight. If you want to return to the default view hit F6 again. -
I,ve been monitoring this forum all along and am very happy to see our return here. So my password and all the other stuff was never in doubt.

My plane is not on the list either, I would most likely pick the SE5a. It doesn't have any bad habits, is fast and can dive out of just about any situation. Beard

Hello hello hello, is there anybody in here...
Burning Beard replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
This is the most activity I have seen here in a long time, I usually check every day but somehow missed this. Anyhoo, the weather is finally cooled down enough to fly again so I have been getting killed regularly in my pilot rotation. WOFF UE is really my preference, had ROF with lots of planes but haven't flown it in years, something about the graphics which just doesn't click with me, I think the colors are just too bold, also I don't fly online anymore and haven't really since the demise of RB3D. I really do like the support that the WOFF team delivers, they keep the franchise interesting. By the way I prefer this forum also. Beard -
How many of us still fly WOFF?

How many of us still fly WOFF?

I only fly in the fall/winter/early spring, The room I have my WOFF computer in gets to hot to run heavy graphics. Upstate California gets toasty in the summer. Beard -
The Burnelli Conspiracy...
Burning Beard replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
No Hauksbee, I mean card stock. You print it out on your printer, cut it out, form the shapes and glue it together. The advantage being it is already painted, if you screw something up you can reprint it, and you can change it with programs like Gimp. This plane was from Murph's Models and was a free download. I didn't like the graphics on the model so I changed them to the what if scheme which I just made up. Here is another one that I shamelessly stole the WOFF scheme made by OVS. There were a bunch of modifications on this one, which was a Fiddlers Green kit which has also been offered for free (there are a ton of free paper model kits out there). This one was built a four or five years ago, when I first started the (what I call) idiot hobby. Beard -
The Burnelli Conspiracy...
Burning Beard replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Here is a paper model of a Burnelli UB14 I built a while back in a "what if" scheme. I read somewhere that Charles DeGaulle used one as a personal aircraft. Beard -
That was a gimmy, and Australian with a machine gun. I just looked it up. Beard

Fokker parts: Mix n' Match...

Actually the DVIII or EV fuselage and empennage is very similar to the DR1 also, but of course the wing is entirely different. Beardd -
Boelke and Nurse Blanca...
Burning Beard replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
After years of painting signs, I have come to the conclusion that many people don't know how to spell their own names. Beard -
I don't have the book anymore (gul dernit) but if'n I remember properly from the Blue Max, Stachel describes the airplanes when he first reported the Jasta that they looked incredibly like coffins. Beard

That is a very interesting plane, They have one at the Boeing Aircraft Museum in Seattle. Beard
