Info About Plane Skins
Burning Beard replied to Firecage's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
You can also view the the skins in the original format using IrfanView, which is a free graphics viewer. You can open all sorts of different graphics files, including DDS, and in the case of the Skins folder you can quickly cycle through the whole thing to look for individual skins. I recently used it (this morning) to cycle through Rabu's excellent N17 skins to find one that would easily convert to a layer mask in Corel Photo Paint. Beard -
I too like the new flak, and also have found it easier to spot the enemy. We were even using it to spot the enemy online yesterday. Beard

O.T. Still flying RB3D?
Burning Beard replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'm afraid OFF has rather spoiled me for RB3D. Everything about OFF except maybe MMP is better the RB. I spent more time at the end of my RB career in MMP, but the mismatch of FM's and DM's rather killed it for me. I am enjoying MMP in OFF, but it is a small group, rather like my old 94th squad in RB. Seems to me I read somewhere that they where "lost" when the Russians invaded Germany in WWII. Anyhoo, they supposedly taken by the Russians. They are probably safe somewhere in a private collection. Beard

New NVidia Drivers 190.62
Burning Beard replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Somethings up BB, I just went in and flew a QM and my setting didn't change at all. I still have perfect gfx with water at 4. Cheers Fawlty Fawlty, what card are you using? I have a 8800 GT 512. Beard -
With the last patch 1.32f my copy of OFF resets to "kinda" default settings after each mission, 222222. What I have found is with my vid card(8800 GT)set to damn near max settings, 16x, 16x, supersampling, I am seeing visually almost everything I saw with the config settings at 553453. The only appreciable difference I am seeing is in the clouds. When at default I am getting 40 on the runway and 60 flying and maybe dropping to 55 in dogfights. My refresh rate is 60fps at screen default setting of 1680 x 1050. I have also noticed with the last patch my sound resets after each mission. Beard

New NVidia Drivers 190.62
Burning Beard replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
They are pretty nice drivers, but I had kind of a major problem. After I installed them, everything worked fine in OFF, but... I lost the perfect graphics selection in IL2. I only fly it occasionally, but when I do I like to fly the Pacific side and I lost the shore line water. So, I rolled back to the 180.48 drivers and the water was restored. I will push them up again 'till I find the drivers that cause the failure. Beard -
I also had a great time, the less chatter when joining up made things a lot simpler. I'm looking forward to next week. Beard

It don't make me no never mind.... I'm flying at 11am now if it is moved later I will just mow the law earlier. Beard

You can also fly American with the Lafayette Esquadrille starting in N11 and going through 16's, 17's and SPAD VII. Beard -
Heads up my friends!
Burning Beard replied to Rickitycrate's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I kinda like it, but it will take some gettin' used to. Beard -
Make sure you have the skin named properly, off_Fokker_DR1_ace_t_(put hour skin name here) Just put that in the Skin folder as described in the above post. This way it will show up in the DR1 skin folder Beard

I voted yes because the numerical value seems to be a yardstick that is not needed. Say for instance the reporting thing. If you put it on the easiest setting it costs you lots of points when you may not care at all if you get credit for the "kill", it just puts a hoop to jump through. That is the one that sticks in my mind the most but I'm sure guys have there own quirks about what is needed to be ticked off to fill their particular fix for WW1 flying. Beard

I loaded the new version this evening and am very pleased with it. I have a TIR4 and the beta patch was jerky. This final version is very smooth and the interface seems a lot easier to use the 4 software. Beard

I think I already upgraded to 1.32c. Beard

I just said this on another section of the forum, but.... I have always had those "reflections" (I think the Pfalz has a mirror also) and even get reflections off of the instrument glass faces on some planes (cant remember which ones). I think it is a vid card thing. I have only used Nvidia cards with OFF, have had a 7600, an 8800GTS (320 mem or sumpin) and now an 8800GT (512). I use dual core processors, this one is only 3 gig and have more ram than the XP Pro 32 with SP3 can use. My settings on the card right now are maxed out 16x 16Q and run in the teens usually on the runway depending on plane type but from 35 to 60 normal flying and dogfights depending on how close I am to the ground. CFS config settings are 5 5 3 4 5 4. Beard

I have always had those "reflections" and also get them on instrument glass on some planes. It must be the video card. I have only used Nvidia cards since flying OFF, I have had a 7600, 8800GTS (320 er sumpin) and now an 8800GT (512). Have used dual core processors, have more than enough ram and am running XP pro SP3. Beard

Current Status - Super Patch
Burning Beard replied to Winder's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I sure haven't found a compass on the N11, when you hit F6 it says instrument view, and there is nothing there. It does however have an RPM gauge which is visible in the cockpit. Beard -

Winston's Early Birds - 02 Aug 09
Burning Beard replied to Vasco's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Multiplayer
I'll fly camels also, but may be a little late as I have to put signs on a Pickup this morning before I can start, hopefully it will only take a couple of hours. Beard -
It works great, I have been flying with the LE in N11's and have come up against numerous EIII's and now they go down all sorts of ways. The standard just run out air, catching fire, tearing hunks outa wings, it is great fun. Beard
