  1. The trouble I was getting when creating SAM placement in a scripted mission was that they don't fire. SA-2 is one and SA-3 is the other. You've brought up a good point though. I think we need to have a terrain editor for object placement. Manually calculating the orientation and distance of SAM targets is a tedious process. But then it is good to learn how to do it, I'm glad that I know the game a bit more now. Next I can have my desired ground distributed threat so I can create a slightly more realistic air combat scenario. I intend to create a MiG vs Sabre scenario, no air2air missile, only guns in the air, only missiles will be coming from the ground. You konw with the added ground threats, the AI aicrafts will be forced to change. See you in the air!!
  2. I'm trying hard to use a title which will make search for this topic easier in the future. I've discovered something new about the subject, the discovery is encouraging. So I can't wait to publish my work to share with you folks. Initially I thought firing up this thread in the MOD section but in order for fellow simmers to find this subject easier I post it here for that purpose. I must thank Fubar, Wrench, Malibu and robert who have replied to my threads for their resourcefulness effort and help. I learn this knowledge from their threads specially one raised by robert and answered by Fubar. The link of the thread is -> http://combatace.com...a3-sa7-sa9-etc/ The information contained in the discussion doesn't directly contribute to my discoveries but it helps. Special thanks to Wrench also for his 'Shipwrech' placement. That also doesn't contribute to my discoveries but it does help me o understand the difference between some fo the parameters used in {TERRAIN}_TYPES.INI. The parameter is UseGroundObject={Boolean} (TRUE, FALSE) How to place chosen SAM in a chosen terrain for a customized single mission Please note that this only applies to customized missions and the SF series 1 games including SFP1 Gold, WoV, WoE and WoI. The {TERRAIN}_TARGETS.INI contains all the ground targets which you can bomb BIG TIME! Each target has a type which is defined in {TERRAIN}_TYPES.INI. Both files must be extracted from the {TERRAIN}.cat file using the sfp1e.exe CAT file extractor. It can be found here -> http://combatace.com...xtract-utility/ The game supports 2 'strange' ways of placing SAM units according to my experiements. It generates SAM units by random selections from the GroundObject folder, number 1. Number 2, the game places SAM units according to what you specifiy in {TERRAIN}_TARGETS.INI. What's that all about? Look at the following Target Area extracted from {TERRAIN}_TARGETS.INI [TargetArea025] Name=Jarimin Position=570000.00,380000.00 Radius=8919 ActiveYear=0 Location=2 Alignment=ENEMY Target[001].Type=CommBuilding1 Target[001].Offset=-51.00,-2630.00 Target[001].Heading=0 Target[002].Type=mosque1 Target[002].Offset=-1765.00,3625.00 Target[002].Heading=90 Target[003].Type=mosque1 Target[003].Offset=395.00,221.00 Target[003].Heading=90 Target[004].Type=watertower1 Target[004].Offset=4896.00,-1175.00 Target[004].Heading=0 Target[005].Type=mosque2 Target[005].Offset=-2360.00,-2248.00 Target[005].Heading=90 Target[006].Type=CityBuilding1 Target[006].Offset=1952.00,-2828.00 Target[006].Heading=0 Target[007].Type=CityBuilding1 Target[007].Offset=2049.00,2056.00 Target[007].Heading=180 Target[008].Type=SAMRadar Target[008].Offset=-3021.00,-8180.00 Target[008].Heading=45 Target[008].ActiveYear=1967 Target[009].Type=SAMLauncher Target[009].Offset=-3121.00,-8005.00 Target[009].Heading=330 Target[009].ActiveYear=1967 Target[010].Type=SAMLauncher Target[010].Offset=-2921.00,-8005.00 Target[010].Heading=30 Target[010].ActiveYear=1967 Target[011].Type=SAMLauncher Target[011].Offset=-2821.00,-8180.00 Target[011].Heading=90 Target[011].ActiveYear=1967 Target[012].Type=SAMLauncher Target[012].Offset=-3221.00,-8180.00 Target[012].Heading=270 Target[012].ActiveYear=1967 Target[013].Type=SAMLauncher Target[013].Offset=-2921.00,-8355.00 Target[013].Heading=150 Target[013].ActiveYear=1967 Target[014].Type=SAMLauncher Target[014].Offset=-3121.00,-8355.00 Target[014].Heading=210 Target[014].ActiveYear=1967 Target[015].Type=AAA Target[015].Offset=-3320.00,-7956.00 Target[015].Heading=0 Target[015].ActiveYear=1967 Target[016].Type=AAA Target[016].Offset=-3010.00,-7813.00 Target[016].Heading=280 Target[016].ActiveYear=1967 Target[017].Type=AAA Target[017].Offset=-5199.00,2839.00 Target[017].Heading=315 Target[018].Type=AAA Target[018].Offset=-5170.00,2473.00 Target[018].Heading=270 Target[018].ActiveYear=1965 Target[019].Type=AAA Target[019].Offset=-5526.00,421.00 Target[019].Heading=315 Target[020].Type=AAA Target[020].Offset=-5313.00,53.00 Target[020].Heading=225 Target[020].ActiveYear=1965 Target[021].Type=CityBuilding1 Target[021].Offset=-3383.00,-46.00 Target[021].Heading=90 Target[022].Type=AAA Target[022].Offset=6191.00,5094.00 Target[022].Heading=45 Target[022].ActiveYear=1968 Target[023].Type=AAA Target[023].Offset=6170.00,4838.00 Target[023].Heading=315 Target[023].ActiveYear=1968 Target[024].Type=AAA Target[024].Offset=35.00,-2077.00 Target[024].Heading=45 Target[025].Type=AAA Target[025].Offset=-413.00,-2545.00 Target[025].Heading=315 So the highlighted shows a SAM site numbered 8 thru 14 with a Radar and 6 Launchers. Now given in the vanilla version of the game which gives us the follow Soviet SAM unit with associated Radar unit: SA-2 SA-2LC SA-2LF Fansong I added SA-3DL and Flatface from Pasko Desert Pak. I also updated the WEAPONDATA.INI to include the SA-3 obtained from Bunyap's Weapon Pack. Now in the GroundObject folder we have the followings: Fansong Flatface SA-2 SA-2LC SA-2LF SA-3DL If you create a customized mission and run it, you will find the SAM that you are up against would be SA-2. After you're killed, you restart the same mission again, this time you would have SA-3 coming up on your map. Again, bad luck you're killed! Then you restart the mission, you are up against the SA-3 again!! Why? Why not SA-2? The game obviously picks up which SAM unit it likes from the GroundObject folder. Now it's quite alright for those who come by as a casual player of the game. But for those who want to have a war theatre with 'pre-arranged' SAM sites myself included, would certainly find different expectations with the game's randomized decisions. So, how do I be certain about that a SA-3 site is located there in Jarimin? Is it something which cannot be changed? I thought with a mission editor and an opened game like this the game engine allows me to customize a number of elements of the war theatre to suit my likings during mission creations. But then I have confidence in the game after reading so many resourceful threads on this forum about it. Witht his firm belief I have decided to get down to the bottom of how things fit together and work the way I expect. I read Wrench's Shipwreck document and have an impression that anything could be "fixed" on to the terrain map. Randomness is only a default when we don't take things into our hands. It's much better to have control in our hands as always, for everything. When you hit a problem and don't have the faintest idea as to how to solve it systematically, it would be extremely painful to use "trail & error". I don't like giving up, I heard that the flexibility of this game is so deep that nearly anything can be customized. I should go deeper...A great number of experiments followed. Switching between the game, the {TERRAIN}_TARGETS.INI and {TERRAIN}_TYPES.INI files I looked harder and harder into the 2 files. At one stage I found surprises. In-game, I use F7 to check what SAM units were showing up. Incidentally, a SCUD-B image crossed my sight. I repeated F7 again and again and "yes!" it's a SCUD-B. I closed the game and started it again with the same mission running, the SCUD's there again! Over and over again the SCUD's still there!!! now I knew that I'm getting pretty much closer to the answer of my question. I went into the {TERRAIN}_TARGETS.INI file and looked for SCUD-B. Here: [TargetArea045] Name=Seikel Position=728000.00,480000.00 Radius=4560 ActiveYear=0 Location=2 Alignment=ENEMY .... .... .... Target[008].Type=Scud Target[008].Offset=-3038.00,2448.00 Target[008].Heading=260 .... .... .... Then I started to cross check {TERRAIN}_TYPES.INI, SCUD is defined here: [TargetType057] Name=Scud FullName=SCUD-B Launcher TargetType=CHEMICAL_WEAPONS_PLANT ActiveYear=1966 TargetValue=250 UseGroundObject=TRUE GroundObjectType=Scud-B RepairRate=0.0 StartDetectChance=50 StartIdentifiedChance=25 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=10 MaxVisibleDist=8000.0 DestroyedEffect=VehicleFireEffect SecondaryEffect=SmallExplosionEffect SecondaryChance=50 Check the above Target Area [TargetArea025] Name=Jarimin Position=570000.00,380000.00 Radius=8919 ActiveYear=0 Location=2 Alignment=ENEMY ... ... ... Target[008].Type=SAMRadar Target[008].Offset=-3021.00,-8180.00 Target[008].Heading=45 Target[008].ActiveYear=1967 Target[009].Type=SAMLauncher Target[009].Offset=-3121.00,-8005.00 Target[009].Heading=330 Target[009].ActiveYear=1967 Target[010].Type=SAMLauncher Target[010].Offset=-2921.00,-8005.00 Target[010].Heading=30 Target[010].ActiveYear=1967 Target[011].Type=SAMLauncher Target[011].Offset=-2821.00,-8180.00 Target[011].Heading=90 Target[011].ActiveYear=1967 Target[012].Type=SAMLauncher Target[012].Offset=-3221.00,-8180.00 Target[012].Heading=270 Target[012].ActiveYear=1967 Target[013].Type=SAMLauncher Target[013].Offset=-2921.00,-8355.00 Target[013].Heading=150 Target[013].ActiveYear=1967 Target[014].Type=SAMLauncher Target[014].Offset=-3121.00,-8355.00 Target[014].Heading=210 Target[014].ActiveYear=1967 Now look at the definition of SAMRadar and SAMLauncher in {TERRAIN}_TYPES.INI [TargetType061] Name=SAMRadar FullName=SAM Site TargetType=SAM_RADAR UseGroundObject=TRUE ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=200 RepairRate=0.555 StartDetectChance=80 StartIdentifiedChance=20 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=10 MaxVisibleDist=8000.0 DestroyedEffect=SmallRocketGroundExplosion SecondaryEffect=VehicleFireEffect SecondaryChance=50 [TargetType062] Name=SAMLauncher FullName=SAM Site TargetType=SAM_LAUNCHER UseGroundObject=TRUE ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=100 RepairRate=0.555 StartDetectChance=20 StartIdentifiedChance=0 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=0 MaxVisibleDist=8000.0 DestroyedEffect=SmallRocketGroundExplosion SecondaryEffect=VehicleFireEffect SecondaryChance=50 I compare the two types SAMRadar and Scud, results here The Comparison utility highlights 2 lines [TargetType061] Name=SAMRadar FullName=SAM Site TargetType=SAM_RADAR UseGroundObject=TRUE <--------------------------------------- "Take details from the GroundObject folder" ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=200 RepairRate=0.555 StartDetectChance=80 StartIdentifiedChance=20 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=10 MaxVisibleDist=8000.0 DestroyedEffect=SmallRocketGroundExplosion SecondaryEffect=VehicleFireEffect SecondaryChance=50 [TargetType057] Name=Scud FullName=SCUD-B Launcher TargetType=CHEMICAL_WEAPONS_PLANT ActiveYear=1966 TargetValue=250 UseGroundObject=TRUE<------------------------------------ "Take details from the GroundObject folder" GroundObjectType=Scud-B<--------------------------------- "Take detaiols from the SCUD-B folder inside the GroundObject folder" RepairRate=0.0 StartDetectChance=50 StartIdentifiedChance=25 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=10 MaxVisibleDist=8000.0 DestroyedEffect=VehicleFireEffect SecondaryEffect=SmallExplosionEffect SecondaryChance=50 Now it's very clear that what you need to tell the game to look for specifically requires the use of the GroundObjectType parameter followed by the UseGroundObject parameter!!! What it means is that the game knows you want this type of objects from within the GroundObject folder. Okay the game proceeds to pick up whichever objects which match the type and throw it to the {TERRAIN}_TARGETS.INI file. That's what happens with only the UseGroundObject parameter. To work on my intended target area Galzad, I made the following changes: [TargetArea020] Name=Galzad Position=618000.00,322000.00 Radius=6488 ActiveYear=0 Location=2 Alignment=ENEMY I post this up is because I can keep track of my work in the future in case I will be away for some time and return later I will always have it here to remind myself and to pick it up again. The second reason is because this hard work is not easy to accomplish, so I would like to share with fellow simmers in case they intend to customize the theatre as such. Please give me comments if I have missed something or you need to ask about the subject. Cheers and Happy birthday!!
  3. Hey thanks! Sorry I've just got SFP1 installed at this time, so wasn't aware of that. Sorry fot he sdtupid question.
  4. Well it's all about customized mission I made. Actually I have a side question: In Single Mission, the game generates the mission from what we select in Mission Type, Time, Weather...etc Where I can locate the mission, is it saved into a folder somewhere? Also, when running the game in Windows' mode, I hit the PrintScreen key but the screenshot never saved to the ScreenShot folder? Is it an issue?
  5. In Jane's F/A-18, GCI network would wake up SAM for inbound threat. I've tried placing a Barlock 40 nm ahead of the SA-2 site. The Barlock never wakes up the Fansong. So an EWR doesn't expand the threat radius of a SAM site. If EWR doesn't work with AAA, then as you said EWR is really for shooting only!
  6. I created a mission with SA-3 only in the GroundObjects folder. Naturally, during mission, I only get hammered by SA-3. After the mission, I added back SA-2 into the GroundObjects folder, and ran the SAME mission for more than 5 times, no luck, SA-2 never showed up. I have made the ActiveYears, ServiceStartYear...the same to SA-2 and SA-3. I even hard coded a SA-2 site into the TARGET TYPES.INI and DESERT_TARGETS.INI files. So I went on to making a new mission, can't think of any other methods. In the new mission, SA-2 showed up! Now I am confused. It's not random, but you need to run a new mission... Gents what you reckon?
  7. I downloaded the Pasko Desert Pak a couple of years back. The SA-3 comes out of that pak. NF4+ is for SF2 isn't it? I haven't checked it yet becoz I'm using SF1, I don't own SF2 I wish I did though. I must have missed a great lot then, there aren't as many standalone SAM available for download maybe in SF2 but not in SF1 as far as I know. I wish there were more though. I don't want to mess up my clean install with other unwanted weapons and ground objects which I do not use for my own game. Originally I wanted to make use of the mountainous area of the Desert map for some dogfight actions. As you might probably be through that before, fighting over a plain area is not equally challenging as fighting between hills, moutains and between troughs. I heavily rely on the F4 padlock view to track target, actually switching between F1 and F4 . It's easily hide yourself up if fly low, or the AI does the same when we are pretty much on the same ceiling. But then just dogfighting and indulge into that turn competition could be boring at times, so I thought of some additional challenges from the ground. Pity that there are many terrains modded with SAM distributed around that part of the map. While I was working on the subject I incidentally discovered that there are in fact a lot of unknown facts about placing SAM and how SAM works actually I am never awared of. So my attentions was diverted to that direction and yes, effort is being put into that part given my limited knowledge about the game. But then I will learn in the process, it's called discovery process. Birthday is just days away, I wish I could accomplish a terrain which I can use for that purpose. There are lot to get done, for example, if I use MiG-19/17 up agianst the Sabre F-86, which Allied SAM is historically correct? And is there a shorcut to make the map looks green though this is not a priority other than the correct SAM. I thought about the Vietnam Map from WoV which I also own but there isn't many mountains is it? A great part of my work is out of curiosity which worth the time I say becoz I can learn the nuts and bolts of the game...
  8. Sire! It is the Desert Map stock! Latest patch applied. I extracted Target Area 028 Target 7 thru 14. It works admirably, but you have to use the latest Weapon Editor to "Save" once I believe that action creates a Weapon.DAT file. The mission file is here [MissionHeader] AircraftType=A-4F MissionMap=desert MissionType=CAP StartDate=06/18/1968 StartTime=09:00 [Weather] WeatherType=CLEAR WeatherAlt=4000.0 WeatherThickness=500.0 HasHighLayer=False HighLayerAlt=8000 FogAmount=0.6 ContrailAlt=8000 StartWindSpeed=17.57222 WindGustingAmount=25.57222 [MissionData] FriendlyAirActivity=1 EnemyAirActivity=1 FriendlyAirDefenseActivity=3 EnemyAirDefenseActivity=3 PlayerMissionID=1 PlayerPositionID=1 MissionNumber=1 AdjustStartPosition=FALSE AdjustBaseWaypoint=FALSE [AircraftMission001] AircraftType=A-4F Name=Showtime FormationType=USFighter Texture= Squadron=-1 AircraftNumber=265 Size=2 RandomChance=100 MissionType=CAP CarrierBased=FALSE ObjectiveID=0 RatingForSuccess=50 StartOnGround=FALSE Position=614728,326281,4998.85 StartTime=0 Heading= Speed=229.33 Alignment=FRIENDLY AmmoPercent=100 FuelPercent=100 Loadout=Recon TracerMixRatio=50 PilotTrainingStandard=EXCELLENT TargetArea= Nation=USAF Waypoint[01].Position=456004,312074,4998.85 Waypoint[01].Speed=229.33 Waypoint[01].Size=200 Waypoint[01].Command=WAYPOINT Waypoint[01].Objective=FALSE Waypoint[02].Position=451261,307179,4998.85 Waypoint[02].Speed=229.33 Waypoint[02].Size=200 Waypoint[02].Command=WAYPOINT Waypoint[02].Objective=FALSE Waypoint[03].Position=456331,302734,4998.85 Waypoint[03].Speed=229.33 Waypoint[03].Size=200 Waypoint[03].Command=WAYPOINT Waypoint[03].Objective=FALSE I am happy, coz I am getting closer to closer to my dreamed scenario. My ultimate goal is to simulate a environment where I will be riding my beloved MiG-19 preferably or MiG-21 up against some great dogfighters F-86. The trouble was I have to choose a appropriate SAM battery for the era. Could you possibly remind me what Allied battery were used during that MiG Alley era? WWoooo! I am getting a hard on. Currently doing a SA-3 extraction to replace the SA-2 in the theatre, this is an experiement. The SA-3 fires like crazy. I used the same mission, flight starts at Galzad, as you know there is a SA-2 site but becoz I replaced it with SA-3 (throw away all the SA-2 in the ground object folder @_@)! also throw away the fansong. Instaed I extracted SA-3DL and Faltface and put those in the GroundObjects folder. I also extract the SA-3 from Bunyap weapon pack and merged with the stock WEAPON.INI file. Something wrong in this extraction process, the SA-3 does not have skin! Also the original Flatface reads like this: [DetectSystem] TargetType=AIR RadarSearchTime=5.0 RadarSearchRange=250000.0 RadarSearchStrength=80 RadarPosition=0.0,0.0,2.30 RadarMinimumRange=2500.0 RadarMinimumAlt=1000.0 DataLink=TRUE OpticalSight=FALSE MaxVisibleDistance=2000.0 RadarCrossSection=100 NetworkType=SA-3 I tried for hours why all those show up but the SA-3 never fired. Then I use FileCmpare to check aginst Fansong's DATA file. Some fo the Tracking para, eters are misssing. I fictiously put in this and we have [DetectSystem] TargetType=AIR RadarSearchTime=5.0 RadarSearchRange=250000.0 RadarSearchStrength=80 RadarTrackTime=10.0 <----------------- RadarTrackRange=250000.0 <----------------- RadarTrackStrength=80 <----------------- RadarPosition=0.0,0.0,2.30 RadarMinimumRange=2500.0 RadarMaximumAlt=300000.0 RadarMinimumAlt=10.0 DataLink=TRUE OpticalSight=FALSE MaxVisibleDistance=2000.0 RadarCrossSection=100 NetworkType=SA-3 Now they fire like raiding party!! But could you possibly supply me wit the historically correct Radar Track Time, Track Range and Track Strength. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. set up a new target area for the SA-2, basically it's a duplicate of Area028's SA-2 site and I just put a new X,Y coordinates. thus i have [TargetArea074] Name=Classified Area #066-74 Position=470528.00,317652.00 Radius=15000 ActiveYear=0 Location=2 Alignment=ENEMY Target[001].Type=SAMRadar Target[001].Offset=-14469.00,-5484.00 Target[001].Heading=45 Target[001].ActiveYear=1965 Target[002].Type=SAMLauncher Target[002].Offset=-14569.00,-5309.00 Target[002].Heading=330 Target[002].ActiveYear=1965 Target[003].Type=SAMLauncher Target[003].Offset=-14369.00,-5309.00 Target[003].Heading=30 Target[003].ActiveYear=1965 Target[004].Type=SAMLauncher Target[004].Offset=-14269.00,-5484.00 Target[004].Heading=90 Target[004].ActiveYear=1965 Target[005].Type=SAMLauncher Target[005].Offset=-14669.00,-5484.00 Target[005].Heading=270 Target[005].ActiveYear=1965 Target[006].Type=SAMLauncher Target[006].Offset=-14369.00,-5659.00 Target[006].Heading=150 Target[006].ActiveYear=1965 Target[007].Type=SAMLauncher Target[007].Offset=-14569.00,-5659.00 Target[007].Heading=210 Target[007].ActiveYear=1965 Target[008].Type=EWR Target[008].Offser=-14519.00,-5454.00 Target[008].Heading=225 Target[008].ActiveYear=1965 The first attempt didn't have Target[008] the EWR. thought tthat would push the perimeter frward as I fly closer. So an EWR doesn't help to engage at a greater distance?
  10. stupid question but just want to know if the combo tracks multiple targets. if I am in a flight of 2 or 4 aircrafts, does 1 SA-2 site which has 6 SA-2 launchers and 1 combo of Sppon Rest and Fansong shoot at me and my wingmen AT THE SAME TIME?
  11. I love the futuristic aircraft, it's called something like Talon. It flies very fast and it won't burnt. Magnificent, and it looks really cool, if only we can have one in the real world... I read the links, that's too deep for me....thanks!
  12. Can't Edit the original post, so I add this reply (I missed the link before)
  13. In this video, the AAA is very lively. No wonder people say SF2 is great:drinks: pity i dont have extra money to spend on it!
  14. I need luck! My feeling is: "I enjoy the process of exploring the inner secrets of this game"
  15. You mean SF2 gives us a totally different environemnt? Wrench Why SA-3 Quad Launcher and DoubleLauncher only locked on me but they nere fire?? I mean the SAM Radar locked on me, but the launcher never fires??? The same to the HAWK! What do I miss? Can you alos tell me what is the ActiveYear for?
  16. why is it every time I ran the same mission, thegame gives me a different SAM, firstt ime, it's SA-2, they fiire alright. the seocnd time it gives me SA-3 only the Single Luancgher fire not the Quad nor the Double. how the game decides which SAM every time I run the same mission?
  17. Wrench thanks for your pointers. I like to answer why I am doing this. You see, when you plot a route for your flight groups, it would be nice to place a couple of SAM in between. a little while ago, I donwloaded MiG-21 packs, very cool. I like the RWR sound. And I put a couple of f-104 to dogfight with me. Not much fun. hard to turn for myself. no joy. So I changed to MiG-19, and fownlaoded F-86, so I played the Russian, and dogfight the Sabre. Good fun big time I managed to kill a couiple of them Swap role and play sabre vs Farmer. Then I feel I need some threats to make the expertience more exicting. And that where i ended up with the thougths of putting sam in. I didn't realize it takes so much knowledge and work to add them I googled and found some threads back in 2008 and read them thriough. Then experimenting them. The spot where I chose to dogfight is near Grid 14^3 near P2 Airfield, I love the mountains that looik gorgeous. That's where I wanna to put the SAM in. Question: if I add a target area tot he Target.ini file, with your recommended preset are there any rules: there is no way for to specify SA-2 to put in the file....and how about if I want SA-3 to be added? The file only accepts Type=AAA or Type=SAMLauncher and Type=SAMRadar. I have just caught this one via google http://combatace.com/topic/34895-wov-target-object-placement-interface-tool-wip/page__st__80__gopid__459561 When is it coming out?
  18. GREAT INVENTION!!!! 7 Years!!!!! 2003 - 2010!!!!!! When is this coming out?
  19. Fubar I still dont understand. Experimenting for hours. SA-3 Static SAM are all over the place but not the FlatFace radar, just Spoonrest....it's like lottery how do I set it up such that FlatFace surely shows up?
  20. I have read other threads, one thing I can't figure out. You have these to describe the location of the units: Target[009].Type=SAMRadar Target[009].Offset=50.00,20.00 Target[009].Heading=90 Target[010].Type=AAA Target[010].Offset=-50.00,20.00 Target[010].Heading=135 Target[011].Type=SAMRadar Target[011].Offset=292,-206 Target[011].Heading=90 Target[012].Type=SAMLauncher Target[012].Offset=392.00,-381.00 Target[012].Heading=330 Now how the games know which SAMRadar to pick from, there are SpponRest, FlatFace...etc and for SAMLauncher there are SA-3DL SA-7,..etc I tried this mission I made for myself, ran it the first time SpoonRest came up, the SA-3 fired. The second time I ran it, PRV Sidenet came up I guess this is the radar too, and the SA-3 fired. The game picks up radar randomly?
  21. Thanks fubar I know SF2 has good looking cockpit stange about the frame rates..I played FE1 there is a enhancement mod which brigtens the sky and the frame rates is higher...I saw it on youtube.. but forgotten the link... Is SF2 available on retail outlet like Amazon?
  22. Fubar You said if larger AAA are data-linked, they will be lethal. Is that also about NetworkType={that network type} ?
  23. thanks! it works okay now. wish I had sf2...the pit looks nicer
