  1. Sea Harrier FRS.1 - '83 to '95 with the rarely used Twin IRM setup.
  2. Blimey, that cockpit's an ergonomic disaster
  3. With ChrisBV's help the skins/decals are all slowly being redone (still can't find many good decal reference sites though ) -
  4. I've just give it ago and with VSync forced off by my Nvidia drivers I get an average of 180+ FPS (1080p Unlimited) regardless of TW settings so it's not internal to the TW games. Probably an ATI Catalyst issue.
  5. IIRC due to the very low seating position on real Tornados the model suffered from "double Cockpits" (where you get both the 3D model cockpit and 3d Cockpit visible) when it was in the proper position. The only way to get rid of that was to move the 3D cockpit away from the 3D model and restrict the viewing arcs from the cockpit so, as designed, you can't look back like your view above which meant that the only way you could tell that your were sat too high was looking in the mirrors. It's something I've always wanted to correct but each method we tried also caused graphics issues, i.e with the cockpit in the right position if you make the 3D models nose not visible from the 3D cockpit (to remove the double cockpits) then the mirrors showed half your plane missing etc. We had the same issue with the TSR2 pack (also used Tonka cockpit) and in the end we removed the mirrors so is something we could try again. I'll have another bash at next week though as I would like to sort it.
  6. More FRS.1 goodness, just finishing off A/C number decals and some other small bits -
  7. Lovely shot there Ant! Coming along slowly but surely (very slowly ) just need to re-colour and/or move the decals about and re-jig the skins as req'd-
  8. It should run much better that your old one with it having both an i7 and a dedicated graphics card. Games that have been tested on Windows 8 haven't show any real increase/decrease in performance (some up & some down a few FPS) but as with any new OS just give it a go and let us know if it works
  9. LOL, you copycat I had the same issue when I did this too - It's because it's an old SF1 3D model and, like Cocas said, old models can have "bleeding" decal issues (had the same issues myself with this model/Sea Harrier etc). If you look at the original skins and decals you'll see that the problem is there even on the original. Use these positions to get rid of the bleed through, it's not perfect (a bit too high) but thats the best you can do. Infact the right side decal can be lowered to -0.06 before it bleeds if you want to try that - [Decal001] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=F-15F/335/d/4WG Position=0.45,-0.04 Scale=0.7 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal002] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=F-15F/335/d/CHIEF Position=0.45,-0.04 Scale=0.5 DecalMaxLOD=4
  10. Stary - I've always thought the scaling was too small (i.e at 600mph it should take an hour to fly 600miles but in-game it takes a much shorter time) Lovely looking MiG-29G by TMF
  11. I honestly don't know and the original thread about it is gone now.
  12. There's the 30-33-34 being worked/re-worked on currently but I have no idea on release info (the 33 is further along I believe). There is a 30 in the what-if hanger (south american AF) and the 34 that was on here belonged to InSky and was removed due to piracy.
  13. Thanks Roger, the F-15 ACTIVE is by FastCargo and is in the SF1 section. I got a bit bored with the same old planes I always flew so I d/l'd everything weird/wacky I could find from both SF1 & 2's "What-If" section and set about tweaking bits
  14. Even the most Advanced and Agile stealth aircraft can be undone by a simple combination of AAA and a simple pilot (ME!)
  15. Anything which helps save space is much needed for my poor SSD - SF2:E alone is 36GB
  16. 241 Korean B-29 nose art pics here - http://home.comcast.net/~noseart/0noseart.html - And their tail numbers - http://home.comcast.net/~b29sinthekoreanwar/0-b29MasterList.htm
  17. F-15D ACTIVE XF-15F Cheetah by Dale Brown (as best I could do with the ACTIVE wearing a F-15E skin rather than an Canarded F15E as per the book)
  18. As Ant said, when we had it on the Tonka it would cause random lock-ups on the load-out screen when changing your wingmans weapons. I got "around" it by making group 1 everything that the A/C would Always fly with (2 tanks, 2x ECM, 2x IRM and 2xARM) which left me 5 groups to play with instead of only 2. However your Spads can't really do that unless you decide to make the centre-line and "shoulder" pylons (ones nearest the centre-line) 1 group and use the Loadout.ini to load them with different items.
  19. F-86E Sabres - a lovely A/C to fly!
  20. It's not Lame but TBH the Aircraft itself not that great either, it's a good solid platform for launching a variety of advanced weapons from but, sadly, it's the amazing abilities of the weapons themselves that make the Tornado so good rather than the actual Tornado itself (which is a horrible A/C to work on and fly in). The front cockpit is still virtually original from the 70's, the airframe can't go above Mach 1.02 or pull more than 6G and there's still some flying which have 1960's wet film projected maps in the back instead of modern LCD displays! The constantly updated weapons avionics for the back seater combined with our newer weapons make it a world class system though!
  21. Here's what I could find, not the greatest and certainly no schematics but useable. Some is AH-1S but it shares the same transmission hub -
  22. I see what you mean but I've got the Accuracy figure in my guns at 5% which gives a nice wide 100yd+/- 10 spread at 1nm, so even with the stock guns going very slightly left/right it's still far too accurate compared to IRL. Have a look at some A-10 gun-cam footage from Afghan to see how big their burst pattern is (roughly 50y wide by however long the strafe or a 100yrd box).
  23. I find that the bullet "spread" is too narrow (i.e the gun is too accurate) and the M61 is a good example of that. The spread should be around 100m square at 1.5km (100yrd at 1nm) for the M61 yet in-game it's like a Laser beam, the idea being that there's enough spread so that you don't have to be perfectly lined up, almost like a shotgun versus a rifle when shooting ducks in-flight.
