Slightly off topic but we used to fly from the UK to Iraq and back all the time in Merlin HC3's, we just had to stop twice a day for fuel (oh and fit a 5th fuel tank/bladder inside)

It was a stand-down day for passing the Annual Formal Inspection (or - getting the friday off before the bank holiday to make it a 4 day weekend!)

A million to one set of pics - I was flying towards a 40mm flak gun at 20ft when No3 & 4 of my flight both strafed the gun at exactly the same time and at 90' to each other (got 'pause' setup on my joystick otherwise I'd have missed it) -

No DLC/Online manual for me in my game menus and the new fading tree's/buildings etc is stupidly close (a slider in the Graphics menu would have been ace). I'll be reinstalling the main folder to del;ete the patch as it's not worth the reduced graphical "look" of the game for the increase in fps. When the new CAT tools are out and people have modded the view distance I'll give it another go. -

Cheers Hans - Spot on advice! I cut all folders out of the mod folder but left the Options.ini file (edited to say Mod & Screenshots folder is now E:\SF2) and pasted them into a new folder (E:\SF2) and everything worked fine! -

Hi all, after a few years of 20-30 FPS on my old rig I've now upgraded but have seemed to hit a limit of 200 FPS (overkill I know ). Is this the game engine limiting the FPS (it's a hard limit, not a single FPS over) or maybe something on my setup? -

Hi Stary - I'm getting those FPS using your excellent 1024x1024 Germany tiles & Unified Effects pack with a mix of thirdparty A/C (a few MF ones like the F-14a/b etc) as that's my standard "setup" for SF2. I haven't checked the FPS of the stock game but I'll give it ago to see the difference. Hi FalconC45 - It's a sealed system so no maintenance, unlike my last W/C'd system which needed a little top up every 6 months and a full refill/clean once a year. -

Intel i7 2600K 3.4Ghz overclocked to 4.60Ghz on Corsair H70 water-cooling with Nvidia GTX580 graphics, 16Gb RAM, 120Gb Vertex 3 SSD & 1Tb SATA3 Seagate HD all in an Antec 1200 case. Here's a review with pics I did - http://forums.overcl....php?t=18272814 It's mainly for First Person Shooters (ARMA II, BF3, BF:BC2, Crysis etc) with a few flight sims thrown in (FSX, SF2:E/I/V, Falcon 4.0 etc) and my previous Xeon 3.5Ghz Nvidia GTX280 PC was really starting to show the strain! -

I don't "need" to go higher but it'd be nice to see what my rig can do (and I can use "Instant Action" for benchmarking). I've hit 233fps (1920x1080 Unlimited) in SF2:E so I don't think there's a FPS limit however in comparison, HAWX2 with the same DX10-11 setup is hitting 330fps which shows how intensive the SF2 series really is! -

Hi all, I'd just installed FRAPS and was doing a nice simple bit of DACT with a F-14B vs a Mig-17 (for the camera ) and seconds after my 3 wingmen crossed R to L infront of me another bunch of Friendly AI started shooting me up (twin cannons looking at the tracers so not my wingmen). I was that shocked I lost the Mig for a second but reaquired and shot him down a few seconds later. I never checked who was doing the firing but as you can see it was bloody close - (wingmen at 0:18, the random "firing guns" a few secs later) http://www.ianhensha.../blueonblue.wmv I'm guessing the AI were going for the Mig but you'd have thought they'd wait for the clear shot! I've also had the same with a F14B AI wingman hitting both me and the target with 9L's when I was in close. -
Hi all, I'm using the Community Weapons File 2.52 and my original weaponsdata.ini file has corrupted, could anyone post a link etc to just the weaponsdata.ini file (having to use the inert one at the moment). The rest of the folders etc is fine it's just the .ini went wibble! Cheers.............................................IanH

It's a simple data.ini mistake, most of the data (booster etc) is all Zero'd . As you said the A is TV guided, the B is IR guided and the C is the same as A but with a 770lbs/350kg penetrator warhead so you can Copy/Paste the A data.ini info into the C data.ini but chage the warhead value and give it a fuse distance of -1. NF4 issues?

Eric - if you gave both stations the same Weapon Group number it'd cure this but I can't see how that'd allow the wrong IRM's to be loaded, could you explain? ***EDIT*** I've checked the data.ini and see what you've done WRT creating multiple year IRM stations and can now see where the difficulty lies. You'd have to do the same for the BOMB,RP stations and add new stations to the Wing data, correct? Emp_Palpatine - Here's my NF4+ Germany Terrains - Winter and Summer (lots of green), I've also a seperate version with Stary's update which looks better as theres 4 seasons. NF4 issues?

Hi I'll try and answer these but these are NF4+ issues not your particular install but to fix them requires you to edit .ini files if you're comfortable doing that. 1. That is a Windmill and is a known glitch which hasn't ben worked on yet (I think it's too time intensive and a big job) 2. The VT1 engine sound file for MIG-15 is missing (both plain MIG15 and Bis version). There are two ways to fix this - a. edit the A/C DATA.ini (open both Mig15 DATA.ini files and at the very top there is a "Sounds" section, rename "EngineSoundName=VK1" to "EngineSoundName=JetEngine" OR b. go to the "sounds" folder in your mod folder and copy "JetEngine" and paste it back into the same folder (it'll be called "Copy of JetEngine") and then rename it VT1. I don't know how to edit the pilots position but it'll be another .ini change. 3. In the Mirage2000C folder (objects/aircraft/mirage2000c) open the mirage2000c.ini file. There are 4 "texture sets" at the bottom, whatever is Textureset1 is the default skin. Find the skin you prefer and swap the textureset numbers over for the two skins. 4. The white stippled parts are for the autumn textures, depending on when the campaign generator sets the campaign you can have one of 4 seasonal terrains. 5. Stary's 512x512 terrains work with NF4+ (I'm using the 1024x1024 versions on my install). Hope that helps.
