  1. RAF BE12

    Version

    252 downloads

The BE12 was a single seat version of the BE2c introduced in 1916. It had the wings of the BE2c, but had a larger, 12 cylinder (RAF4a) engine. There was a synchronized Vickers gun mounted on the side of the fuselage and it could carry up to 230 pounds of bombs. The more powerful engine made the BE12 a faster plane, but it didn't have the maneuverability required for a fighter. The BE12 was used mostly for recon and light bombing missions. My BE12 has three loadouts for light, medium, amd heavy bombs. I have included two skins, a green paint (PC10), and a clear doped linen skin. A full set of number decals and my skinning templates are included in the download. Credits Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the BE12, and for providing reference materials for the plane. Installation Instructions For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE12" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE12" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "RAFBE12". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/RAFBE12 folder into the Decals/RAFBE12 folder you just made.
  2. Halberstadt D5

I agree with ojcar, it's looking very good. Is there a notch in the windscreen, or is it broken?
  3. Revised AEG C.IV

Today I uploaded a new version of the AEG C.IV which corrects a problem with the fuselage decals. I had used the "Tail" decal on the fuselage instead of "Insignia" and for some years the entire fuselage turned white. Version 2 corrects the problem. Thanks to Ojcar for finding my mistake.
  4. BE2e and BE12 - WIP

Since I released the BE 2c about a year ago, I have had many requests to make the 2e with different wings and tail, and the 12, single seater version. I've been working on them both (a 12a is also started.) I should have the BE2e finished very soon. Still working on details on the BE12.
  5. BE2e and BE12 - WIP

I uploaded the RAF BE2e today. It has two skins and a set of serial number decals. There is also a bomb loadout - which (realistically) affects the plane's ability to climb. My thanks to ojcar for the FM, for providing resources, and for testing the plane. On another topic - I have not converted my Sopwith Tripe to First Eagles yet. But I've been thinking about it...
  6. File Name: RAF BE2e File Submitter: Stephen1918 File Submitted: 08 November 2014 File Category: Other Entente Aircraft The BE2e was an improved variant of the BE2c introduced in 1916. It had a longer upper wing and a shorter lower wing with a single set of struts. It also had a slightly smaller horizontal tail. The new configuration improved the plane's maneuverability, but did little to improve its overall performance. I have included a light bomb load, but the plane's rate of climb suffers somewhat when carrying bombs. I have included two skins, a green paint (PC10), and a brown paint (PC12). A full set of number decals and my skinning templates are included in the download. The gunner in the BE2e sat in front of the pilot and either had multiple guns, or was able to move the gun between multiple mounts. The game engine does not allow this, so I set up the data file to limit the gunner's aim to the upper rear of the plane. However, I provided alternate lines in the FM which will allow you to widen the gunner's aim, but that makes the gun pass through the struts, and sometimes shoot through the wing. Instructions for changing the gunner's range of motion are included in the download. Credits Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the BE2e and for testing and helping with details of the model. Thanks to Mike Dora for identifying and helping me fix problems with the gunner. Thanks to Nicholas Bell for correcting the hit box coordinates for this plane. Installation Instructions For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE2E" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE2E" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "RAFBE2E". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/RAFBE2E folder into the Decals/RAFBE2E folder you just made. Click here to download this file

  8. BE2e and BE12 - WIP

I'm finishing up the planes I started but never finished. Over the years, I've often gotten distracted by ground objects or terrains, and I had a lot of planes that got set aside. I should be caught up soon, then things will slow down again.
  9. Moska MB bis

For the Eastern Front - today I uploaded the Moska MB bis, a Russian single wing fighter. I have included two versions, a stock version with an angled gun, and a "field mod" version with a horizontal gun and deflector plates. There is also a ground object version of the plane with its wings folded.
  10. The Beardmore Company's version of the Nieuport was almost identical to the French version but with some minor changes. Most significantly, it had a vertical fin on the tail, a longer lower wing, and a full cowling around the engine. I have used British guns to arm the plane. I'm putting British instruments in the cockpit, and still doing some minor tweaking. I hope to have it finished in a day or two.
  11. Beardmore built Nieuport 12 WIP

The Beardmore Nieuport 12 was uploaded this morning. There are two skins and two sets of number decals for the RFC and RNAS.
  12. File Name: Moska MB bis File Submitter: Stephen1918 File Submitted: 24 October 2014 File Category: Other Entente Aircraft The Moska MB bis was a Russian single wing fighter, first deployed in 1916 and produced throughout the rest of World War I. It did not have a synchronized gun and the stock plane had the gun mounted at an angle to fire over the prop. I have created a "field modded" version with a horizontal gun and with deflector plates on the prop. Both versions use the same skins. I have included my skinning templates with the download. The planes uses the stock decals, so there is no "D" folder with this plane. One of the distinctive features of the Moska MB was that its wings could be folded for shipping and transport. I have included a static model, with folded wings, that can be used by modders in their terrains. The static version has a destroyed version and includes the Types.ini data. Credits Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Moska MB bis. Thanks also to Nix for creating the sound file for the Gnome 80hp engine. Installation Instructions For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folders named "MoskaMBbis" and "MoskaMBbisMod"into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. You also need to move the sound file "gnome80m4.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder. For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folders named "MoskaMBbis" and "MoskaMBbisMod"into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. You also need to move the sound file "gnome80m4.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder. Click here to download this file
  13. Moska MB bis

Thanks. I think this is a nice little plane. The information available for this plane is pretty thin, so parts of it are pure guesswork, but it is fun to fly!
  14. New Ground Objects

The buildings and forts are very nice and will look great in many of our terrains. I'm tempted to revise my terrains now.
  15. decal issues

I have his Avro 504D and the decals seem to be working OK on the rudder.
  16. Yesterday I uploaded two new files for First Eagles - A stand alone Lewis Gun and the AEG C.IV two seater. The Lewis Gun is based on the gun I made for my Nieuports 10 and 12. I included the data for the Weapons Data, based on the data Whiteknight06604 used for his Lewis Gun on the Nieuport 17. I did not attempt to make installation instructions, but I did include a diagram to help modders calculate the data needed in the plane's FM. The AEG C.IV was a German two seater which saw heavy use during the last two years of the war. I was thinking of Palestine when I made this, but the skins are generic enough to use on any front. My thanks to Ojcar for making another wonderful FM for my plane.
  17. File Name: AEG C.IV File Submitter: Stephen1918 File Submitted: 12 October 2014 File Category: Other Central Powers Aircraft The AEG C.IV was a German 2 seater that was introduced in 1916 and saw service until the end of the war. It served on the Western, Eastern, and Palestine fronts and was operated by Bulgaria and Turkey as well as by Germany. It was primarily a reconnaissance plane, but was also used as a bomber escort, although not very successfully. It had a fixed Spandau machine gun for the pilot, a Parabellum on a ring mount for the observer, and could carry a small bomb load. I have included two skins, a green and lilac camo, and a green and brown camo. I have also included a full set of number decals. My skinning templates are included in the download. There are two bomb loadouts, one internal, and one external mounted under the wings. It is doubtful that the AEG C.IV carried external bombs, but I liked the look of it. For historical accuracy, you probably shouldn't use the External Bombs loadout. Credits Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the AEG C.IV and for providing valuable information, especially for the cockpit details. Thanks also to Nix, who made the sound file for the Mercedes 160hp engine. Thanks to Ojcar (again) for pointing out the problem with the decals. Installation Instructions For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "AEGC4" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. You also need to move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder. For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "AEGC4" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "AEGC4". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/AEGC4 folder into the Decals/AEGC4 folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder. Click here to download this file
  18. Two new files: Lewis Gun and AEG C.IV

I'm sorry, Don246. I am stumped. It looks like the game is using a formation, but putting three of the planes in the same position instead of spreading them out. But your Formation.ini looks the same as mine. Have any of you other guys ever come across this?
  19. Two new files: Lewis Gun and AEG C.IV

Have you changed the Formations.ini in the Flight folder? If there is a Formations.ini file in your Flight folder, try moving it out of the folder and seeing what happens.
  20. Two new files: Lewis Gun and AEG C.IV

Perhaps it's something in the Formations file? Can you post a screen shot?
  21. File Name: Lewis Gun Mk2 File Submitter: Stephen1918 File Submitted: 12 October 2014 File Category: First Eagles Weapons Mods I modified the Lewis Gun I made for my Nieuports to make it a stand alone file, so that modders can use it with other planes. I ran the poly count to reduce file size and I made a new skin. I have included a diagram to help modders figure out the data they need to attach the gun. I have included the data file that Whiteknight made for the Lewis in his Nieuport 17 with Wing Gun. I named it "LewisGunMk2" so that it won't replace the existing Lewis Gun that others have used in their mods. My thanks to Whiteknight06604 for letting me use his Weapons Data. The picture shows the gun mounted on MontyCZ's Nieuport 17. Click here to download this file

  23. AEG C.IV in progress

The Fliegermaus (Type GR 16 in First Eagles) looks like a small bomb, with fins on the end. This is a loadout I made for Laton's Pfalz E.III for the Eastern Front. There are six Fliegermaus grenades racked next to the cockpit.
  24. Caudron G.4

Whiteknight asked for the Caudron G.4 quite some time ago. I've been working on it off and on for a few months. The model is done, except for the gunner, whose legs still need some work. I made a new pilot because the stock pilot wouldn't fit into that narrow cockpit. I'm working on the skins and the cockpit model now.
  25. Caudron G.4

Extremeone alerted me to some minor problems with the Caudron, I have uploaded a new version with corrections. They are both very minor - In the ini file, I only had two LOD levels, so the plane disappears when you get about 200 meters away. All the LOD files were there, I just didn't have them in the ini file. LOD003 should be at 1000, and LOD004 should be at 7000. In FE2, the pilot and his skin have to be put into the Objects/Pilots folder, not in the Aircraft folder as I instructed. The installation for FE1 is correct. Version 2 fixes these problems.
