  1. Caudron G.4

I uploaded the Caudron G.4 today. It includes four skins and three bomb loadouts. My thanks to Ojcar for once again making a great FM for the plane - this makes 36 planes we've made for First Eagles. My thanks also to Whiteknight and Jeanba for help with the research.
  2. Palestine WIP

I've been working on a revision of Wrench's Palestine, which is based on Gepard's Suez terrain. I've done some work on the tiles, a lot of work on the targets, and I've made quite a few new ground objects. I've redone all the ports, train stations, airfields, camps, and movements, and I've made some new ground units. There is still a lot of tweaking and testing to do, but it's getting close.
  3. Palestine WIP

Looking good! It's getting closer to being ready to release!
  4. Flanders

Nice stuff! I like how you reskinned the Bazaar to make an... is it an ammo dump? By the way, the rail mounted artillery gun would have been parked by itself on its own siding for firing. They had such a long range, and had such a tremendous recoil, that they actually laid a separate set of tracks when they were deployed.
  5. Caudron G.4

The cockpit is built and I'm working on the skins. Notice that there are two throttles, and fuel gauges on the engine nacelles. I still have a lot of work to do on the data file, and I need to make the LODs.
  6. Caudron G.4

The Real World is keeping me pretty busy, so it will be 2 weeks or more before this is finished. I've been trying hard to find a balance between high level of detail and manageable file size. The twin engines and fluted wing edges really used up memory, so I've been doing a lot of tweaking. The G.4 was used by a lot of nations, I hope to at least have decal sets for France, Belgium, Italy, and Russia.
  7. I don't know if I'm understanding your problem, but - when I make a new install, I copy the whole folder in the Program Files and rename the folder, I don't have to rename the exe file at all. Then, everything in the new terrain is installed in the new Saved Game folder. I have an install which is the standard, unmodded version of the game and I copy that whenever I make a new install of the game.
  8. white spaces ?

I've never seen the problem that you posted on Aug 25, but I have seen flickering tiles sometimes. The flickering is a memory issue, and (for me) it usually happens along a river or coast line. Set the graphics mode to a lower setting and see if that helps.
  9. Verdun Pics from TFD Tool View

Amazing level of detail! It looks like you've got shells going off in no-mans land?
  10. Palestine WIP

Looking good! I'm looking forward to flying this in Palestine. Hope the move goes smoothly.
  11. I uploaded the Palestine Terrain last night. It features new tile layout and many new ground objects. I figured out how to make targets change sides, so airfields and bases will change from Turkish/German to British as the dates change. This terrain was designed to work with Ojcar's campaigns, which were uploaded today.
  12. Version v1.0

    372 downloads

Palestine Terrain - June 2014 (Summary of the ReadMe file included in the download.) I highly recommend that you make a new install of First Eagles for this terrain. The ground objects, planes, and nations involved are different from the stock game. This terrain works best using the Desert.cat file from Strike Fighters. It is possible to run this using the Cambrai.cat file from First Eagles. Instructions for installing either option are in the ReadMe file. NOTE - In FE2, this terrain has a problem with shadows for some areas. The only solution is to ratchet down the shadow settings until the problem goes away. I have included notes in the ReadMe file which go into more detail. CREDITS Gepard made a Palestine terrain for Strike Fighters some time ago. I have kept many of the objects he included in the original, including the Pyramids of Giza. Wrench made a World War I version of Gepard's terrain. I have kept a lot of his work - you will still find many of Wrench's "Easter Eggs" in my version. Wingwiner gave me permission to use some of the buildings he made for Strike Fighters. Geezer gave me permission to use his ground crew and airfield objects, AA guns and balloon winches. Geezer also made the skin for the city buildings. Everyone whose work is included in this download has given me permission to use their work. I thank them. Gerwin made a TFD Tool which I used for a lot of the terrain map tweaking and target placement. I thank him for sharing it. Ojcar shared many resources for the history of WWI in Palestine. I thank him for his help. I wish to thank Geezer, Panama Red and Ojcar for beta testing. They all did multiple installs and tweaking as we tried to figure out the shadow problem. Geezer and Panama Red installed the game on different computers to see how the game performed on different platforms. I also wish to thank Wrench whose input was helpful during the testing phase. THIS VERSION I have made many minor changes to the terrain - I made new terrain tiles, (most based on Gepard's) and I have leveled the airfields and train stations, and smoothed out the height map around cities. I changed a lot of place names, and I added places that were significant in WWI. I added a lot of (unnamed) small towns and villages to fill out the landscape. I made a lot of new objects - bridges, trains, tents, trucks, cavalry units, city buildings, etc. I also reskinned some buildings, vehicles, and ships that I made for other terrains. In my version I used the "ActiveDate/InactiveDate" feature of the target.ini to make airfields and targets change sides as the war proceeds. So different flags, AAA guns, vehicles, and planes will show up in the locations depending on the month and year. The dates I used match the dates Ojcar uses in his campaigns. You should fly Ojcar's campaigns to get the real benefit of this terrain. I have included a new title screen for this terrain. Complete installation instructions are included in the ReadMe file in the download. I highly recommend that you install Panama Red's sky mods. It adds a whole new level to the experience. I also recommend that you install Ojcar's Palestine campaigns. This terrain was built for his campaigns and you will get the best gameplay using them.

  14. Congratulations Geezer!

Congratulations Geezer! I've enjoyed your mods. I'm looking forward to more of your high quality creations!
  15. Palestine WIP

Nice! I like the details of the sheet metal and linen.I don't recognize the bombs, are they from the game or did you make them yourself? I like the bomb racks, I make mine simpler because by the time I get to them I'm worrying about file size. But that's just me. I love the detail that you're putting into this plane.
  16. Palestine WIP

Very nice! The details in the skins are wonderful, but I also notice the details that you're putting into the model itself. The crumpled strap on the Lewis magazine is just great!
  17. Verdun Pics for FE - zip file -

It makes going to the dentist seem like fun.
  18. Palestine WIP

Almost done! I'm adding eye candy, and I'm tweaking and testing. I've added a lot of Geezer's figure and objects (which he adjusted for Palestine. Thanks Geezer!) I've also added some camps for forces of the Arab Revolt and some Australian bases. There are Red Crescent medical building in the Ottoman camps, most of the cities have a bazaar, and I've reskinned some of my ground objects from the Eastern Front. Geezer is working on new skins for the city buildings. Ojcar has been working on campaigns for Palestine. He is checking my terrain to make sure it fits with his campaigns. We should be finished very soon.
  19. Verdun Pics for FE - zip file -

You've done a lot of nice work! The seasonal terrains are wonderful.
  20. Remember that the Be2c was designed for RECON, (most two seaters were.) It was a very stable platform which made it an excellent machine for aerial photography. Guns were added as an afterthought to give it some defense, but it was never intended to be a fighter.
  21. New Linen Skins For Steven1918's BE2c

Very nice! Thanks for making this!
  22. Palestine WIP

Here are some images of where I'm at with Palestine. I've done some work on the height map to make the mountains more craggy. And I made all new TODs for the cities and farm land. I added a lot of unnamed towns to fill out the terrain. They're placed in the tiles, but not in the Target.ini. They're just there so you won't fly over kilometer after kilometer of farm land. I made some new ground objects - trains, water trucks, oil tanks, etc. and I re-skinned some of my older ground objects to fit the desert terrain. At the moment I'm placing the "special" buildings into the cities, and I've just started to place Geezer's ground objects into the airfields and supply depots.
  23. Palestine WIP

These are looking good Geezer and will be a nice addition to Palestine! I've finished the TODs (that was a royal pain!) and I've done a lot of work placing terrain tiles and tweaking the height map. Now I'm placing objects in the Targets.ini. I'll try to post some screen shots in the next few days.
  24. Halberstadt D.V

Edward included some parked aircraft in his Flanders terrain. They included destroyed versions and could be targeted. I started to make some generic planes under repair (with parts missing) but I got distracted by other things. I'll have to see if I can remember where I put them... Geezer, great job on the skins, by the way, I'm looking forward to the flying the Halberstadt.
  25. Palestine WIP

The real world has been keeping me pretty busy lately, but I still manage to work on the Palestine terrain every now and then. I've made some new tiles and done a lot of work using Gerwin's TFD editor. Now I'm learning how to make TODs to make the cities look more crowded. Making TODs in the Terrain Editor is excruciatingly tedious, but (I keep telling myself) it's worth the effort. It's going to take a little more than "two weeks" to finish this...
