  1. how is Column 5 doing?

Hello! I definitely appreciate the concern. That r/l issue remains at an unsatisfactory impasse, I regret to say. Not sure when I will be back permanently, but it is inevitible that I will--the new F-14 sim will guarantee that. :)
  2. Battle of the Bulge!

Not what you thought!!! Is anyone here interested in starting a weight-loss support group? I've got some pounds that built up over the holidays that just have to go! I thought if we have enough people interested, I could put up a page on my site with a progress chart, and we can update it weekly and have a little challenge to see who can lose the most. The element of competition might make everyone work harder at it! What do you think? Edit: We'll start everyone at an arbitrary weight of 100 lbs, and deduct from that so no one has to post their embarrassing current weight.
  3. Sorry, I'm a bit rusty. I should have said Flight Data, not AI Data. But here is the problem: CruiseSpeed=405.00 405 meters per second is 787.3 knots. Change this value to 192.9 for a 375 knot cruise speed. The actual cruise speed for best fuel efficiency would vary based on many factors, including altitude and armament, but this should be close enough--you can play with the value until you find a speed you are happy with.
  4. I think that the game sets the waypoint speeds based on the cruise speed defined in the AI Data section of the data ini. Check that value for correct speed in meters per second.
  5. Oli was a great guy. I wish I could have met him in real life, but I worked with him for so many years with Mirage Factory that he felt like an old friend.

  7. Having used both fairly extensively, I think you will be happier with 7. IMO of course.

    Love it! Go Buzz!
  10. RIP F-22

Its a good question...what happens when the force dwindles down and we only have 400-500 tactical aircraft in the inventory, and an equally small number of pilots who don't get to fly very much because we have to ration the airframe hours?
  11. Hugo Chavez

OMG...stuck in an elevator with a sweaty pineapple-faced communist!
  12. Needs registration and then a background check. Just be aware that after you go through all of that, the quality will disappoint you.

  14. Kansas City, Here I Come...

Yeah but they are all strapped, so don't give 'em no lines and keep your hands to yourself.
  15. RIP F-22

I have no doubt that it has its share of problems. All new aircraft do. FC made some good points about this in the previous F-22 thread. As far as hydraulic leaks go, my reading suggests that the F-14 began leaking when they filled the reservoir for the first time at the factory, and never stopped until they pumped it out for the last time at the bone yard!

Anything the current government says must be read backwards: help the troops = hinder the troops reduce health care costs = increase health care costs etc., etc.
  17. My other SAAB is a car...

Yeah but that ad comes from before Mitsubishi started making airplanes again, I think.

  19. Maybe they are using the space for fuel...the Navy's tactical aircraft since the Hornet have been notoriously short-ranged.
  20. Don't feel too bad. The F-35 is relegated to carrying a gun pod now.
  21. one small step for a man

Destined to be mankind's greatest achievement. I cannot imagine humanity being able to pull off a project of that scale ever again.
  22. Didn't the UK delete the gun from its Typhoons? Or did they change that decision?
