Question: Placing SAMs
column5 replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Thanks to all of your info I was able to get the SA-3, SA-9 and SA-11 working correctly for NF4+. I had to create Flat Face and Tube Arm radars for the SA-3 and SA-11, and set the SA-9 as MOBILE_AAA. Now there are quite a few SA-9 scattered around in addition to the newer SAMs. This ads an element of difficulty because if you go low to avoid the big SAMs, you'll be down in the kill zone for the SA-9 which is infrared (and optically sighted) and thus invisible to your RWR! -
Par for the course. This guy is labour, same as our Democrats, which means socialist. All socialists loathe the military. Now that I think about it, this is a rare moment of honesty from the left.

When can I buy one? http://www.military.com/news/article/fligh...397&wh=news

SF2 Europe Harriers, something odd
column5 replied to Syrinx's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Funny thing...after fiddling with the decals.ini I found that the setting "DecalMaxLOD=1" was the problem. When I set it to "DecalMaxLOD=2" everything works fine. Not sure why this became a problem in the new version... -
Well, I will make a deal with them: I'll "acquire" the projectors and PCs, all they have to do is provide the software!

B-1B Released (Betas)

These flight models are not optimized in any way. I did the minimum necessary so that the AI could fly the planes. Keep that in mind. -
SF2 Europe Harriers, something odd
column5 replied to Syrinx's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I can post some info tonight...the next step in the NF4 conversion to SF2E is to apply your decal upgrades to the Harriers and other planes. I'll post any problems encountered. -
Maybe not quite OT, but in the training I've had in order get my Tennessee handgun permit, and to sharpen my skills, the overriding message is to avoid situations in which you may be shot or may have to shoot someone. Let's hope we all die not knowing the answer to the OP's question.

nato fighters 1 & 2 install, no weapons
column5 replied to sts's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You just need to follow the instructions to the letter. Don't use any other weapons packs. Make sure your install paths are all correct. -

I would expect that functionaility to be ironed out as time goes on. -

SF2:E non-flyables

This collision point: CollisionPoint[005]= 0.00,-6.88,-0.81 Seems to be set a little low given the shape of the F-84s rear fuselage. Try setting it to: CollisionPoint[005]= 0.00,-6.88,-0.58 And see if that gives a little more clearance. Of course, these early jets were notorious for long takeoff runs. It was said that if a runway was built that spanned the earth, Republic would build an airplane that needed all of it. This plane should probably be set to MinBaseSize=LARGE. -

Careful there! Your tail feathers will be singed! -
I don't. I think you are a disgusting piece of trash with serious mental problems. I strongly urge you to seek professional help.

Some earlier Marks would really be great in NATO Fighters. -

But of course! Got the '62 and '68 planesets basically converted. I have one minor problem with Seasoned WOE that I need to get with Stary on. The main thing consuming time is converting all the weapons to the new system. -

This is one of those cases where it would be awesome if the AI actually had to pay attention to their fuel. What you did (running away at treetop level and full power) was the prescibed tactic for evading MiGs in the A-7. The Corsair was reasonably quick down there while still being fuel-efficient, and the MiGs would have had to use their afterburners to pursue, greatly limiting their ability to catch you. Oh well. -
Worked on getting NF4 converted to SF2E this morning. Just got back from a romp in the Corvette! Nothing at all planned.

Where to add aircraft/bort numbers in SF2
column5 replied to MiG Master's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Splitting the decals into a separate folder is not a Vista thing. I'm not sure why TK did it that way. Anyway, note also that you do not have to use the default location under C:\Users... 1. Edit the StrikeFighters2 Europe.ini file and change the path to Options.ini to the location of your choice (mine is D:\Program Files (x86)\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2 Europe\Options.ini) 2. Copy the Options.ini file from C:\Users... to the new location 3. Edit the Options.ini file and change all paths to the previous location to the new location 4. Launch the game to recreate the mod folders under the new path Your install is now self-contained and you don't need the folders under C:\Users... anymore. -

Wow that is a considerable increase in detail for the radars and countermeasures. Light sim my arse. -
Agreed on the Cantina thing. Lucas' desire to rape men started with Han Solo and reached its ultimate expression in Indy 4.
