No bombs on this cat. Before anyone says anything, this skin is not for the later-configuration F-14A shown, but for an earlier configuration which will also be released. -
Rgr what Dave said. We have to strike a balance between funding the significant costs of running the site with our determination to keep things open and available to everyone.

Plus I lost all that money in Vegas that was supposed to pay for bandwidth. :blush2:

As do I. I am working on a Tesla-based machine right now that will inject a hyper-temporalized stream of cold plasma into the space-time continuum and reduce the passage of time up to 20%. -

New book coming out: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1846033780 Looks great. Covers the USAF's secret squadron that evaluated Soviet aircraft we acquired and apparently even flew them as adversaries to help train our front-line pilots. Got mine pre-ordered.

Russia's Fantastic Secret Tesla Super Weapon

Dude, they were totally building a Tesla super gun. The evidence has been in front of us all this time. It was probably code-named Bolshoi Boris or something. -

New video card ATI or Nvidia
column5 replied to X RAY's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've had both brands over the years, but my personal experiences have always been better with nVidia. YMMV, but I've been running an 8800 GTS since they were released and its been great for TW sims and everything else. -
Lofted weapons

The key as MJ says is not to use extreme angles and don't loft the missile too high. -
Russian Weapons and ECM/Countermeasures
column5 replied to DarthRevan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It must have been recently, because he was on an episode of History's Mysteries filmed 7 or 8 years ago. It was on a couple of weeks ago, and was very interesting. The thrust of the show was questioning whether the actual shootdown occurred over international waters. There is no doubt that the 747 violated Soviet airspace twice, but the shootdown may have occurred just after it had exited their airspace for the second time. The show also revealed that US EC-135s were operating in the area that very night, and they looked at whether the Sovs could have possibly mistaken the 747 for a 135 (verdict: possibly, although the airliner was running with appropriate lights on). Anyway, its a good episode if you can catch it, and the Soviet shooter was interviewed. -

Russian Weapons and ECM/Countermeasures

Good to avoid revisionism. Its well documented that Soviet electronic systems, including radars, missiles, ECM, etc. were inferior to their western counterparts, sometimes by a wide margin up into the 1980s. Eventually they started to produce some really deadly missiles, like the AA-11, but prior to that...crap. Still...the missiles were good enough to shoot down 747s. -
I started in October 2002 with SFP1. My first skin was a VF-31 Phantom.

Well I think upgrading the B-1B would be a good idea. Its an awesome plane. The only problem is there are not very many of them.
