Cockpit Photo

Taking a guess: adding a pinup to the instrument panel area inside the 3D airplane model. If somebody has made a small flat square "pilot" with bmp that's what you'd do. -
Where I find the GroundObjectData.ini file?
Lexx_Luthor replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yep. I always said, call it Brain Base and they will come. Even the KB People retreat to calling it KB in their forum poasts. I can spell the "K" word but only after a brief period of fundamental review; emphasis on the mental there. I just can't spell it unless I think about it. And I don't like thinking about it. It should just come out spontaneously (easy word!!), Xenlike, like spelling Mississippie EASY AS 2pies/3 no problem but some words and even some single digit base 10 multiplication pairs jam my brain and I see SPOTS like Iraqi MiG-25 pilots saw spots all over their radar screens in the first Ussia/Iraq War. I can never spontaneously spell Knowledge..there I did it but had to slow keyboard to a crawl to do it. In two simpler words....Brain Base -

Yeah pappychksix makes a good clean classical B-52 skin. My fave ~> http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=2388 Well, antiflash white is my favorite colour. What works nice in the sim is.....granted the TextureSet skin lighting covers the whole aircraft, top and bottom, and it would be "nice" to define lighting qualities for different airplane parts. But in general, a shiny metal skin is really shiny on the top where the SF sun shines, but less shiny -- more flat -- on the under surfaces where the SF sun don't shine. The white bottom is not as reflective as the bare metal top, because of lack of sunshine. Now, fly the B-52 or B-36 -- with silver top/white bottom -- upside down, and the opposite happens, but we don't do that very often do we? -
Woa, great chemtrail pic. Love it. Now, a real problem I worry about alot is Global Warming. We have to do something. As we can all see, Global Warming is obviously caused by Man.

Kopis:: You might have this need, or desire, but in something else and you don't know it, because to you it, whatever that something else is, is the truth to you, for now at least, and that's what matters to you. In a way, its scary people are like this, at least when their beliefs are different, but it also makes life endlessly more fascinating, for good or bad. I can see the frustration and even anger, even here, but that's the way it is. I feel it too. My personal bang are the chemtrail people. But I don't blame them one bit. At least they are looking up at the sky for a change, and they can often come up with some dam good contrail photos, which is never a bad thing.

Just ideas

Sounds like a long running year hopping campaign Thudwire might do. Also 1958, first use of air-air missiles. -
Terrain Gurus Look Here Plz (Adriatic Map)
Lexx_Luthor replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
That could be the problem. If I recall, my tiling never went right until I got ALL the required transition tiles defined and setup to go. Often, when I thought I could get away with "enough" transition tiles, I would get a creeping line of terrain tiles where they shouldn't be, until I added another set of transition tiles. -
Winzip thing
Lexx_Luthor replied to i fight by 1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yep, I'm a militant radical 7zip fundamentalist. ~> http://www.7-zip.org/ I noticed it was used by the mods at Column5 SF cold war downloads ( http://www.column5.us/ ). So tried it and never went back. Czech it out. I haven't tried IZarc....sounds interesting Coot. -
Man I gotta admit, I love the Follow The Money idea, which is most applicable to western central banking and warfare, and is a fave study of mine. Bermuda is not, and its not my baliwick but from a distance I love the methane idea exactly for the reason you give.... Gun:: That's exactly my thinking on this, which is why I suggest to some not to run around insulting others who believe in alot of popular stuff, only to be written off. It doesn't work, I know. I would say the missing, or lost since 1960, place of adventure/mystery is either undersea or space, or so I like to think. Since I don't pay much attention to the Bermuda stuff, I don't know, so I consider anything there as possible, including boring statistics but I do prefer the methane as, uh...."kewl." But you nailed something with the need for mystery and legends.

pfft I don't even have sound on my computer, and don't ever plan on it. I jam stereo...or on a long really long mission over the pole, talk radio haha. It helps me relax during the dogfight woof woof
-
Well, there is that lake somewhere in Africa that bubbles up CO2 and suffocates surrounding populations, so I wouldn't put it past Earth doing something similar with methane under the ocean.

New F-102A Cockpit was uploaded
Lexx_Luthor replied to ordway's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I always do that. By the V.50, I get it setup right, mostly. I'd should be airplane designer, open my own OKB. Thanks this is neat stuff. -

Do Camel Cigarettes. About 15 years back, I was in 7-11 or Lil Champ store. Inside the front door they had CAMEL display advertisement, you know the Cool Camel smoking with sunglasses. The display had the sharpest airplane design I ever seen. How so? The plane was Su-15, double delta wing...but... It had Mirage style conical inlets like yours...and... It was shown taking off, with the twin engine "swoosh" leading back to AIRCRAFT CARRIER on the water way below the plane. Totally fictional plane, but super sharp. Call it the Camel hehe. -
Years ago, my 2nd physics class, a friend of teach -- at community college, the best! -- subsituted for regular teach (hardass, student of "niceguy" Weiskoph who was student of Pauli). After class we rapped and he said he worked on SR-71 design. I asked him how they did that with SLIDE RULES?? He said HAHA he didn't think about it like that, but they did it anti-ways. Dam!

J-32 beta
Lexx_Luthor posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Both Timmy and I ran out of time. The model is phantastic, the FM needs work but its working at least. Toned down F-4E avionics for radar gunfire. There's a not too bad medium speed FM oscillation I don't have time to track down, and I want to. If any of you wish to play with the FM, avionics, -A version loadouts, etc...I can releace this soon as simple J-32B interceptor version. Rb24 missile in weapon pac already. Timmy says the 3D model and templates are available if someone wants to do extra things to the model. I can only do some basic beta work for now on this. For my strategic campaign purposes, I eventually -- a few years at this rate -- plan to gut every SAC, RAF, PVO, and now Flygvapnet flight model and start all over, optimizing CPU framerates for multi-hundreds of aircraft across a 6000km map, plus flak and SAMs. That is not normal gaming for you fellas/fellattes so I'll keep that to myself. But, because of that, I never learned how to incorporate an aircraft model into the game for "normal" or stock gaming, and I never will. I only use the sim for my own one purpose. Timmy silver skin -

Lexx_Luthor replied to CoopF4's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I think somebody came up with a way to have multiple tank loadouts, but its tricky, and it may be old SF. You seem to be doing New SF??? Can you do a F-100 copy, another plane, cammo plane, with cammo tanks? Just replace the tank bmp? Its common, although confusing, to see weapons with different texture names, at least for old SF. Don't know about New SF. -
Cool. We have moving clouds now
Lexx_Luthor replied to Stary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Winds can be tricky. They can be defined both in Enviro and Mission files, depending on how you use your sim. Like, if you do single missions, you need the Mission file to have the wind data. uh, I think. Been awhile ror. FC:: I tried it on other planes but it may have something else related going on. For example the AI Data or something else combining together in the engine section. When I get time, I'll figure it out. Not worried about it anymore. I KNOW its possible just from that screenshot. Thanks to VeltroF102 and C5. -
Cold War desktop icons
Lexx_Luthor replied to Coot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
mmm, an anti-aircraft gun, one of the BIG ones, pointing at the sky, would be good icon for Gun Editor or Gun Data. -
Cold War desktop icons
Lexx_Luthor replied to Coot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Okay, an example. Say an icon for gun editor. Do a Glock. lol, or some aircraft gun. Focus on the muzzle, looking back maybe, ie...try for a small 3D depth perception effect, you know like railroad tracks. Lots of possibilities for Weapon Editor, Weapon folder, Weapon data file, etc... Your missile launch icons are greatl; mainly the versions with the changing background colour that approximates the sky getting darker higher off the horizon. The way you do it in those versions, both blue and green, has a modernistic surrealistic tone to it. But that does not mean unrealistic. In fact just the opposite. There are two places to find hardcore surrealism in nature: (1) The surface of other planets, and (2) the atmosphere of Earth -- the air warfare environment when at its visual best. AwSim
