  1. Puff clouds always moved since TK slipped them into the sim a few years back. You are not blind, you just gotta go with the wind sometimes. Any screenshot of cirrus vs terrain clash? *** I just saw something for the FIRST TIME --- AI afterburning dash following waypoint, 800km/hr. And this is 2006 SF. Something in Veltro/C5 F-102 engine data allows this. I noticed you get afterburner at 65% throttle. I'll have to figure this out, as its really nice feature to have for, say, AI piloted B-58s or Vigilantes for example. Look ma....
  2. Trees I think. Same here to a slight degree. Are you running any of my (Lexx) weirdo mods? When I dropped one of my clip distances for my non-standard usage of cockpit panels, trees shimmered as you described. I mostly fixed it but its a tight balance.
  3. Ok, I'm in. I like the more deep surreal icons. Forget the text. Can't read it. Pics can be just as informative. Maybe its a Xen thing.
  4. mmm, very interesting, something like this could be useful for LOTS of stuff besides SF.
  5. J-32 beta

I'll get with Timmy for the current OUT file. Haven't heard from him in a few days.
  6. okay it works for you guys. Can't wait to see ya'll in the screenshot thread. I'll try to schedule a cameo appearance here by Timmy. Good they don't have an FMshot or Avionicshot thread. Those need some work.
  7. The first rule about Fight Bowl is, you don't talk about Fight Bowl.
  8. T-38 spanks F-22

You know, maybe the main thing is mistakes. Does TK AI make mistakes? I suppose you have to play online against humanoid players to really see this in an opponent. I'm an offline guy only for now, but alot of FB/PF online players can play the biplanes and pwn the Luftjet players. Jarhead1:: ahem...post-modern. If they bring back modern planes like F-106 for USAF/NAVY I'll goto airshows again. If they want to get that off a carrier, they can bring back the the USS United States too.
  9. Bermuda Triangle

Typhoid:: I dunno T, you may be right, and I can understand your frustration. I am tempted to call the chemtrail people "tinfoil" but to be honest, I don't blame them. It compares to beliefs of all kinds through history. From what I've read, before hydroplaning turned from Tin into Gold, they used to call pilots names similar in spirit to "tinfoil" when the pilots ran out of wet runway and couldn't convince anybody they were standing on the brakes the whole rollout.
  10. Coop thanks for the info. I've never seen it so clear. Very interesting indeed.
  11. T-38 spanks F-22

hehe sorry if my poast was a bit off topic. But, I got off on it being the first towering cumulus I've seen in any post-modern HUD footage, but then I watch very few of them. So it would be a good source to introduce the concept of clouds to The Sims developers --- but in another thread. Sorry fellas/fellattes. And thanks for the vid. Anyways. To be honest, nothing new here at all. A Skyraider shot down a MiG-17 or something like that, granted with a snake if I recall. A number of props shot down MiGs over Korea. And to back up Jug....Pacific ace Thomas McGuire tried to hard turn into a Ki-43 of all things, A Luft ace in Bf-109 bounced a Yak-3 that was landing but had to follow McGuire's mistake and crashed on or near the Soviet airfield. Dam. Its tempting to say that F-22 pilot was a "noob" or whatever, but he may have been a top guy. Sometimes they goof up, not often, but when they do, get out of their way hehee..
  12. Bermuda Triangle

Plug for the Meth idea. Its the one that makes sense to me. Its not an isolated idea. There are some lakes, one in Africa I've heard about, that at some times bubbles up CO2 that fills valleys, displacing lighter O2, and suffocates whole populations. Scary stuff out there. But the funny thing: Except for maybe one (earthquake), all the scary stuff -- volcano, flood, wildfire, superstorms, etc...happens to be where the Earth is the most fertile for life. That's how life works!! Its almost Xenlike.
  13. Ah, most interesting thanks. I'll keep my sight then!!
  14. Yes very nice you two -- Veltro2Ordway I'm thinking of taking down that gunsight. I don't see any obstructions in various cockpit views looking forward, although its hard to tell in the photos. Did F-102A have any IR Falcon missile pipper on glass?
  15. Fly Navy 100 Flypast

Oh, yea...Skippy, I "forgot" as usual. Nice video. Could be worse: you could have been up there hehe... Didn't mean to hijack your thread. F106 was my last airshow, over twenty years back.
  16. Fly Navy 100 Flypast

Thunderbirds...?...lol I never got into the "pop" stuff. The only thing I remember from that show was F-106 and the pilotmech guy...well, two tarnished leathered worn out bodies but one youthful soul, plus the worn out plane which needed external cart to start.
  17. Yough Wrench those missiles are too high, melding with the rails. Is this Correct Thinking?
  18. Fly Navy 100 Flypast

Bah. A good friend and me saw one of the last if not last air show appearances of F-106. Mid 80s or so. After F-106 landed, the Blue Angels were coming up to bat soon. Everybody ran down there. But I'm a contrarian, so... We had the pilot and mech to ourselves for long afterwards, as the Sheep all herded over to the Blue Angels thing. Those guys were two bodies, one soul, one mind, plus the plane. In the end, I said it was time for us to leave, because after the F-106 lands, the entire airshow is over. They loved that!!!! We totally missed the F-16 Flacons, but we saw the entire airshow -- all F-106.

  21. New flight military simulator free, open...

Suggestion: Some years aback, Wall Street Journal had an article about looking around on the street for new business ideas or trends nobody else thinks of. The article gave some examples one of which involved paying close attention to the shoes people wear. *Free Tip* The Jetsims developers should look at the wrist watches people wear on the street -- Everybody "says" DIGITAL IS COOL but everybody wears ANALOGUE. The Digital Watch Fad lasted about as long as Pet Rocks. Everybody went back to analogue watches, except for a tiny number of cave dwelling digital watch wearers. People want the analogue look and feel. Apply that to Teh Sims jet cockpits: Analogue Fighters Contrarian. ie...You want something different than all the other copy-paste "digital post-modern" superHUDjet sims, something besides using a computer to simulate a computer. Build an early to middle Cold War sim, 1940s to 1970s, and they will come.
  22. Hillsborough disaster 20 years on

I avoid crowds of sheep like a plague for this very reason. Maybe Police were smart like me and stayed away.
  23. Cold War Was Hot.

Yeah, problem is we need a new replacement The nicest looking airplane ever thread.
