TK's sim has the *best* air warfare environment modelling, at least grafically. However, AI needs programming to interact with that environment. Only TK can do that. Think the ground combat shooters and how AI soldiers or tanks are programmed to interact with buildings, trees, streams, hills, clouds, spotting contrails at 50 miles on a moonlit night....oops those last two are for air warfare modelling. Well maybe someday, but today TK's sim at least the best air warfare environment grafix.

Hey fellas/fellattes. If this is a US vs Iraq thing, MiG-25 shouldn't have any radar because of all the jamming. However, trying to recall what I read once, there is another radar mode that either wasn't jammed or something that Iraqi pilots could use, or they went IR. I dunno. And their comms with base was mucked up too. For this purpose, recall the old Patch problem green washout of radar...just what is needed. Or, maybe somebody wants to make an avionics.ini that models a nicely jammed and largely unusable radar.

13:: That happened to me. Mostly landlubber here, on lunch break, alone. Nice smooth aqua green BIG waves invited me off the beach into the warm ocean. Very nice bobbing up and down. Then bang I could see the shore *moving* away from me, and I had a moment of fear and a few moments of "this won't end well." But before panicking, somehow I managed to just think it out. So I just paddled water not trying to swim, then one of the BIG smooth waves came in and at the start I started swimming hard and rode the wave a good distance. I could feel the distance somehow and I knew I could make it then. Three or four more of these waves and I was walking on sand beneath. Scary stuff out there. But try to **explain** procedure to somebody else out there, and 8 yo kids? Yikes. Well it worked for me one time, but I won't assume I can depend on that again. I never went back in alone, but I have gone back in.

Non paid...I hope you can change that. My fave job ever was tutoring for uni, but it was the lowest paying job ever (minimumnumnum wage). When I say pump the place up, I was thinking of when I was tutoring...I was the *best* and added alot of stuff that helped students. I helped some folks get past the NAVY exams (physics stuff mainly). Library Service (!) can potentially help alot of people....another thing....have you thought about tutoring some subject you know?

Sounds like a good gig. Take that place and pump it up. At uni I loved studying on the floor in library, between the big walls of books, just sitting on the floor nobody in sight. A BIG library. Just kilotonnes of books and shelving and very little floor. I hated the nice finished wooden tables and comfy looking but painful chairs. That's where you are supposed to study. WretchFest Maximus. Icarus:: The guys I've met with the biggest balls were retired military or combat vets who have learned enough to never let their kids anywhere near the military. They know what's going on and what's not being told. They seen it, they smell it.

Britain is kaput, as we are. We get the same thing over here sometimes. I always looked at "parties" as something to avoid like a plague unless you are with good *long time* friends and stick with them. School disco/party? WretchFest Maximus.

Fw-190 carried a shucks I forgot -- a 2 engine bomber type plane as glide bomb. Oleg made this into the FB/PF sim. Well, okay maybe the bomber carried the Fw.

er um...or that's my guess as to the thinking behind it all, or the rationalization for budget cuts maybe.

commander:: Actually, post-modern. I stopped paying attention to post-modern military stuff years ago. But my basic guess here is: (1) No longer any real competition out there from any other nation, which means.... (2) No resources need be spent on developing and operating dedicated aircraft.

Better:: If tanks are to be returned safely for re-use, they don't fulfill their ultimate function. This is standard during Peactime. Drop tanks get a bad rap. If the real crunch comes, they will be carried, and used, and...amazingly...dropped. Other planes got a similar deal. McDonnell F3H Demon normally carried one drop tank under belly, the other left behind because together they caused too much drag. I assume the tanks were normally returned for re-use, so only one was carried. If there were no hesitations of sending aircraft off where they might actually need to drop the tanks, say in a shooting war, they will be carried. Or so I'm thinking anyways. No drop tank left behind!

My guess: the tanks are brought back.

Hey thanks for the rails. AwSim stuff there. My basic take:: MiG-19P -- Only two 30mm cannon because of heavy radar. No missiles. No rails. Performance somewhat reduced over -19S because of radar mass. MiG-19PM -- No cannon, 4 rails. Radar mass and missile drag severely reduced performance; just barely supersonic at altitude. Some P converted to PM but only 2 missiles. I'd love to see a MiG-21F style nose LOD (with metal shine) to add onto MiG-19S for a high mach SM-12. The main thing holding MiG-19 mach back was the thick intake walls.
