  1. Try one. They should be free downloads. Maybe the readme says something about this.
  2. Other than FB/PB, has throttle jamming ever been modelled in the Sims? I enjoyted the challenge in Oleg's sim is stuff like -262 and YP-80 where you have to be very gentle with the throttles, at least at the low end.
  3. Look in the Utilities/Editors download section
  4. OMG!

Sweet body, femimumum muscles. Better looking than 90% of Ussian McWomen. She didn't know how to apply facial makeup for the screenshots. Still, epic thread and dam funny. Saburo wrote about that, coming home to Japan after his first encounter with US NAVY. Super ace, and people frightened by his face. A christian mag had an article about Ussian Air Force fighter pilot in training, T-38 crash left him a quad. This stuck in my mind for some reason, I read it as a little squish. This is how we deal with the possibility of it happening to "us."
  5. Timmy:: Be careful of random variables in damage creation. This is something you need to ask TK at Thudwire. The FM -- I have only glanced at it once so far. I've been working alot, tired, and I got pretty much StrikeFightered out sometime after Patch 2008 and only now admitting it to myself. FM is kinda stressful to me...work. I hate working when I get home. The weirdo stuff I always do is pure fun, but even that I'm giving a break now.
  6. Man this is great stuff. Yep, this is best for nucs or lots of regular bombs. For air drag, you might could setup drop tests that you can read off the distance to impact...Setup a strike with the weapon, altitude, and *airspeed* you wish to use -- and use consistently. Drop anywhere -- but assume target is sea level -- on the map, and record the drop coordinates from the FULL debug data display, then use Weapon View to record the impact coordinate, wherever that might be. Use the x,y coordinates ONLY to get the horizontal distance between the two positions. That's your drop distance from target. This should work, unless I'm missing something (usually the case). This will change if target is significantly higher than sea level, requiring further tests. Instead of relying on a distance to target indicator, one could use a bomb sight. I usually just use an enlarged gunsight highly depressed. Another thing talked about here was drawing on the radar.bmp some bomb drop indicators, to drop bombs using the ground mapping radar as a form of all weather day/night bombsight -- works above clouds and at night. This was new to me: Did you know that the Canberra bombers were primarily "built" for high altitude visual bombing...above 40,000 feet! The series never got bombing radars in sufficient numbers, so they added a bombadier with glass nose. Good read ~> http://www.vectorsite.net/avcanbra.html
  7. Operation Atlanta

I dunno. Rome solved piracy in The Meds with warships. But then, that Empire was no pus. Wooden oars, iron men.
  8. That is smooth, wow. Really classical.
  9. Inspiration

gascan you need to czech out B-58 stargetic cockpit, works amazing. Orbiter was nice at first, but the HUD was just too intrusive. That alone made it Delete~able, as it could not be changed.
  10. Which mission editor you looking at? I use KMD its very tricky but *waaay* fast and quick once you learn the ropes.
  11. Inspiration

mmm, NO that was F-106, F-104, T-38. No matter, all cool planes and stuff.
  12. Inspiration

After seeing Top Gun, Tom Cruise, or anything made by the city of Hollywood, one wishes to fly Soviet strategic bombers. Well, the most inspiring movie/tv footage is that jepisode of I Dream Of Jeannie showing Major Nelson taxiing out in F-106, flies around with F-104, and taxis back in F-5, or some such order. That was a heap flying. Very inspiring.
  13. er no, not below the puffy cumulus cloud textures. I'd guess THAT plane is for use in the middle stratosphere. Granted, this kind of flying is a totally "new idea" for combat flight The Sims. TK's Patch had overly conservative high altitude environment. This is what it should kinda look like (Jug may be a better bet to ask though, having been up there!!)
  14. First thing I thought of was a horse stable. heehe Next try an experimental 3D cumulus cloud. ...just for experiment. Could be setup as balloon. Could be skinned. Multiple levels of detail. Perhaps for a very large 3D thundercloud, some very small collision points inside to simulate chance of encountering extreme turbulence. Eventually, if the idea works, perhaps changing shape like aircraft landing gear or canopy closing is a change in shape. 3D cumulus cloud should interact with the SF Sun like any 3D object. Very interesting, and a change from the industry standard "fligth sim" puff textures.
  15. FYI.....

That's one good reason among many I prefer crapp jets instead of the all in wonder digital superHUDjetfighters made by the post - Cold War McDonell/MiG/Nortrop/Sukhoi corporate merger. WretchFest Maximus. Less current "secrets" involved. But still alot of secret stuff hidden in the Olde Stuff I would imagine, but probably not as much that might effect a sim of this detail (although, one never knows!!).
  16. any other WW2 online sim?

TargetWare, eventually Pay~To~Play but still in free development, but very slow development, much like Duke Nukem Forever, FighterOps Forever, or Oleg BoB Forever (or TK SAC vs PVO with both sides flayable ya that's gonna be awhile). ~> http://www.targetware.net/
  17. Wilch:: Directly, no. This happens. The A-Team's Valiant, Thudwire Su-7, ArmourDave's Su-17, and Tomcat74's/Wpnssgt's MiG-25, are examples that share the same one-sided canopy frames. However, there are several possibilities for F3D.... (1) Use the full Thudwire A-6 cockpit, like a normal simmer would, which works pretty good actually. Other full cockpits might be used. S-3 Viking, or A-26 for examples. (2) Super Stargetic Cockpit , here~> http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.p...a&start=304 But this has limitations caused by seeing the "pilot" aircraft wings and structure from the cockpit. This worked on the Valiant because, as a V bomber, there was no rear view anyways. (3) Best fix would be...if you read that page and the next, capun went back and changed the Valiant model for me, with some spectacular results. Contact the A-Team. I bring up the F3D issue on page 12 ~> http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.p...=a&start=88 ...with Thudwire A-6 cockpit...
  18. Gascan had some issues, now resolved. page 45 ~> http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.p...0&start=352 I use the S2 pit from A-Team's Vulcan. ModelName=Vulcan_Pit-R1.LOD
  19. What tail? Which end is the front, if any? pf:: There are some lizards and maybe insects that have a fake head for a tail, to confuse predators. Maybe that's what this is. In The Dogfight, you can't tell what end is the real head. That could work.
  20. Thinking About Moving To England...

Moving? Need a Planning Map? (needs tile work).
  21. Thinking About Moving To England...

    Iceland?
  22. Awsim stuff there for Mach 4+ near space stuff. Distance to speed, and turn radius at altitude and speed? What size map would this need?
  23. A dumb question?

That's not bad at all, pretty dam good really. hehe in that BoB movie ... its a heinkel no its messers*** ... never could spell it.
  24. A dumb question?

Thanks Dave. So that's Kennedy's plane that was shot down. Is it still thought to be a lone SAM site?
  25. Wrong sim for ground detail. A 1m resolution might be "okay" for a helicoptor sim or (maybe) 1915 WW1 sim, using far smaller maps, say 100km size. Especially considering near Mach 1 speeds at low level.
