nukes blow up aircraft...is there a fix?
saisran replied to dannavy85's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Drop the Nukes from really High Altitude (above 30K if your plane can handle it) and Don't loiter. Once drop go full burner and fly away as fast as you can. -
Sony Bravia 46" TV as monitor?
saisran replied to stingray77's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I'm also using a TV as my main Monitor. And i have no problem with it. Having a huge screen allows me to Be farther back from the screen. Just bear in mind that the response time of a TV can be noticeably slower. The lower response time doesn't really bother me but it might affect your gunnery. -
That'll be very dangerous and so much fun. haha.

Damn tire broke through everything. That was epic!

GETTING HIGH AND STABLE FPS ON MAX SETTINGS
saisran posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have recently retired my trusted laptop and built a new mATX PC with an I7-3770, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 1070. Admittedly, the only new thing here is the GTX 1070 and the rest are just a collection of bits. But it performs well and runs All of my games at 100+FPS except SF2 which runs at 60+FPS, but even so its smooth and i just think the reason why it doesn't reach 100FPS is because Stary made all that excellent Visual Mods! (i'm not complaining Stary! I love your work to bits!) I was enjoying it until i decided to run a mission on NA and this happens... 23 FPS? I have all settings on highest they'll ever go I also have the pre-rendered Frames Set to 1 and fade set to False I might just be the nature of the game being hard to run and i may just be able to fix it by setting the horizon distance to far instead of very far but the thing is i don't want to really turn down the graphic settings. So is there any further tweaks that i should know that will enable constant high frame rates even on the deck of a carrier on the stock North Atlantic Terrain? The thing is as soon i left the deck the frame rate jumped and even reached 77 FPS with 16 strong F-14B flying in front of me and three more being rendered in the mirror. Thanks for the advice guys! -

GETTING HIGH AND STABLE FPS ON MAX SETTINGS
saisran replied to saisran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Thanks for the feed back everyone. I Guess it's really a software thing. I have a surplus of RAM Sticks but unfortunately none of the combination runs well on Dual Channel on my board. I have to get a dual channel package if im going for 16GB. But honestly, i haven't seen any improvement from 8GB single stick to 16GB dual. Guess its really with the software. It's funny how an old game is harder to run than the latest AAA Title. Guess a bunch of Testing is in order. While the low framerates in deck isn't that much of a problem. Its a different story when actually flying. Hopefully i dont get FPS drops in that regard.\ I forgot to mention that i'm playing on an HD TV instead of a Monitor. I mostly Play SF2, Racing Games and Some RPG. -
GTX 1060
saisran replied to Streakfalcon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Most probably yes. I have a laptop with a GT 735M and that seems to be working well with the new driver and windows 10's latest version. To be safe i would keep the old driver(ver 353.XX) handy just in case. -

No issue on a 1070 as well. make sure you got the latest drivers though as all the graphic issue from when the 900 series were released are ironed out. -
SF2 Series DACT Reports And Related A2A Discussions (Game only)
saisran replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Its been a while... FJ-3M Fury Vs Mig-21 he passed over head and i pulled my nose up thinking that i'll meet him going round top and i was surprised to see him low going going in the same direction as i was. I rolled my wings and pulled on the stick hard to bring my nose back down, blacking out a little in the process. He was cutting right so decided to roll and loop my bird up top to Keep my position and energy advantage. I tried a couple of shot but they didn't connect. A couple more loops and two premature launches of the winders (just wanted to get them off). With the winders gone i can now focus on the gun. Trying my best to correctly guess the right lead i fired some shots which didn't connect. He tried to lose me by flying low and i countered by going up. He then took a left hand turn slowly trying to gain altitude. I was in my turning circle and i got plenty of energy to keep up with him little by little i reeled him in until hes big enough for a sure shot. Pulled the trigger and boom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIcmlL7L6_8 Second flight, the initial engagement was boring as the bandit only ran. But the rest of the flight was more interesting. I kept pushing beyond the enveloped and kept losing control over the bird. luckily i was able to recover to regain position and splash all known hostiles. GTG so this is it for now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KXM2ajMlMI -

Have you check the left and right landing gear if they have symmetrical values especially the rolling radius? -

Way to Fly and Fight! Can't wait to get back to playing. -
Honestly have no idea, but but can the game utilize and benefit from SLI/Crossfire? On the same note will there be a noticeable difference between the 970 and the 1070 or there's absolutely no point in changing my 970 or adding an extra card?

SLI/Crossfire
saisran replied to saisran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Well, currently i have a 970. It works fine but i really want to push the graphics for Stary's Mods abit more so i was thinking of getting another 970 for SLI. Then i checked the new 1070 and the new Multi Screen Projection tech on the 1070 looks really interesting for getting a multi monitor set up. In any case, i have already decided on the 1070. My 3770 is really old and i failed to secure a new board for dual GPU configuration. Thank you for the answers. -

F-142A USAF 6th Generation Fighter WIP
saisran replied to dtmdragon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
If it's Manufactured by Northrop Grumman then it should follow the company's naming conventions. Grumman developed Fighters are cats, Tigercat, Bearcat, Wildcat, Hellcat and Tomcat. Northrop on the other hand isn't really know for fighters and doesn't really follow any logic Freedom Fighter, Tiger Shark, and Hornet. -
I heard they found a way to reverse engineer the Phoenix to manufacture their own. Same goes to parts for the aircraft itself. Well, they do have engineers and funds so its not much of a stretch but i can't be so sure of that as that was just an article i read somewhere on the web while i was on a trip so... 50/50

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Graphics Card Unleashed
saisran replied to MigBuster's topic in Hardware/Software Chat
had someone bought either the 1080 or 1070 and tried that multi viewpoint tech on a multi monitor setup? -
Just wondering if anyone else is familiar with outlook magazines? I received a call from them asking to do an editorial of my company in the Philippines. We had a nice conversation but they were asking too many question that is a bit sensitive that i had to ask them for their company profile and stuff first. They do have a very legit looking site thou.

Couldn't find anything about them on the net as well. Guess i'll decline the editorial. Thanks guys.

GPU/Drivers Compatibility List
saisran replied to Gunrunner's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Nvidia 353.62 Seems to be the best fit for SF2 across nvidia GPUs from 710M, 740M and GTX 970. So far no problems. The latest driver 364.51 with minimal environmental and terrain mod seems to work fine on medium settings with occasional tearing and flickering during intensive ground battles. OC'ng on the new drivers also seems to aggravate the problems. -
I fell in love with this game... again

Upgraded to WIN10. Now jaggies appear
saisran replied to FalconC45's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
To be honest if your running the latest ga,mes and programs for work etc. upgrading to windows 10 is a good move. I'm enjoying it with work so far. However, If your running an old and abandoned title such as our beloved SF2 windows 10 can get a bit frustrating as updates for the GPU and such.. seems to be leaving our game behind.
