  1. I still need to do the A-1J serial decals, and we will have pretty much wrapped up the Razbam Skyraiders for USAF. There are still a few Navy units to do that were in Vietnam, and the VNAF thing looks daunting. Mike D.
  2. Thanks Frank, Thought that all interest in these birds completely faded away! Mike
  3. I know you guys are going to dump on me to check the knowledge base, but for the life of me, I can't remember how to make an entry in an aircraft's data.ini hardpoint entry to prevent a certain weapon from showing up. Isn't it "No AIM-4D" or something like that for each station?? Thanks, Mike D.
  4. I tried "NotAllowedWeapon=" and at least the offending item does not load by default, but it is still available from the pull-down list which I'm trying to eliminate. Thanks
  5. Corktip has the last of my decals for the grey USAF A-1E/Gs yesterday. They depict over 100 airplanes - in both VNAF star & bar (pre-March 1965) and USAF star & bar for both 1st ACS and 602nd ACS at Bien Hoa. He is putting the finishing touches on his grey repaint and it should be available for download soon. Mike D.
  6. Badfrank is 31 Today

Happy birthday from New England. 31, holy cow, that's old... Mike D.
  7. Second .bmp file seems to be bad within the .rar file. I tried downloading a couple of times. Anyone else? Mike D.
  8. The chat was in WoE/WoV/Project-1 Mods & Skinning Chat, the moderators made it a sticky at the top of the page: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...0&start=100 The file is available thru WoE/WoV/Project-1 File Announcements or from downloads: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...&showcat=61 Enjoy, Mike D.
  9. Don't rub it in or I won't make any more decals... Mike
  10. Thanks again. Oh well, turning 52 tomorrow, mate...senility is a terrible thing... Mike
  11. Corktip, What are you using for a centerline drop tank texture? Those oil stains look great. I don't think mine look like that.. Nice job on the final textures by the way! Will try to get the decals for all the grey birds to you by next Wednesday again. Mike D.
  12. Final Countdown is probably number one. The DVD version is great - special features include several pilots of VF-84 talking about making the movie is one not to miss - the story of how Kathryn Ross refused to have a drink with the pilots in a local bar during the filming at Key West, then they went out the next day during filming and the Tomcat front seater held up a sign in flight to the camera plane saying "F..You Kathryn" for her viewing pleasure the next morning when they all viewed footage shot the previous day! Not to be missed!! Mike D.
  13. Yeah, rugged and solid, eh....grin! Mike
  14. Roger that, but she's still a geek hanging around this forum on a Sunday afternoon instead of out driving some guy crazy... Just kidding, Mike
  15. Anyway, speaking of skins and decals, Corktip has half of the decals from me (all the EC/TC 1st SOS birds) and all of the rest are coming in a few days, then we'll work on the grey birds of the 1st/602nd ACS. Early birds should have VNAF national insignia, back in the 1964 days when a VNAF "pilot" sat in the right seat. They did away with the sham by 1965 and went to the straight USAF star & bar. Mike D.
  16. Ask BadFrank about VNAF skins. He seems to have lots of skins which look great that he did, which are not officially released at CA. There are lots of neat schemes for them. By the way, nice to see someone interested in the details too! Mike
  17. Nicky, Corktip sent me an early version of the skin and it looks great. I have about 30 tail numbers for EC/TC 1st SOS in the works, and about 32 TT, ET and TS birds. Would anyone be interested in a camoed 1966 version. No tailcodes, just serial numbers? Sort of bland, but if you fly a 1966 mission, that's the way they looked! About 40 grey ones planned. Mike D.
  18. Having trouble again with the small three-digit numbers on the main gear fairing doors not showing up. What am I doing wrong? Calling Prowler again....! Mike
  19. Outstanding! Very, very nice...I have half of the decals done for all 5 units. 12-14 serials each for "TT", "TC" and "EC" birds. Can only dig up two "ET" coded fat-faces, and 7 "TS" coded birds. I still need to double-check the locations and sizes in-game to make sure that they are right. Oh, by the way, 5 of them are black-bellied airplanes. How about E-mailing me a preliminary texture set and I'll give them a whirl? Hmmmm? I have a few hours free so I'll work on them now (after well over two hours sleep after an overnighter at work last night). Mike
  20. Super! Looks great! I'll start tonight on some serials for the camoed birds by unit. Good to be back in the saddle again. Mike D.
  21. Thanks, I'd still like to see your campaign released even with the incorrect desert terrain. I never thought about mountains though. Could we fake something up using the American Northwest terrain?? Mike
  22. Thanks for the sympathy folks. It was my dog Sam, but she was more a family member than I'd care to admit. Have just been a bit out of sorts since then, but I'm bouncing back. Got to get flying and skinning again. Mike D.
  23. The Spitfire looks superb! I'm going to go ahead with the decals for serial numbers for both grey and camo A-1Es. When they are all done, I'll get back to you to see how far you've come with the skins at that point. Sound like a plan? I really like the decal system for WOV, not sure why more folks don't use it instead of painting directly on the bmps like we see more and more. Like any other sim, as the aircraft surface angles away, the bmp texture blurs like crazy, but the decals stay crisp to a superb degree. My hat's off to TK and anyone else at Thirdwire who had a hand in this idea. Mike Druzolowski
