  1. I have a Navy/Marine F-4B in the semi-complete stage, and have been toying with the idea of using a free animation slot to extend the nose gear to raise the nose for a cat launch. However, this would involve the same parts used for normal oleo compression which is another separate animation...any work-around ideas for this?
  2. Thanks FC, I was hoping for something that I was overlooking. No easy solution to this one.
  3. Always nice to see more F-4s for the first generaton sims. Neat schemes for these RF-4Es in Greek, WGerman and Japan AF schemes especially. Thanks again. Mike D.
  4. Has anyone had any luck simulating more weight on the nose gear of planes in the TW series? The F-4 stands about 12 inches too nose-high in any model. I have tried varying the three relevant entries on the nose gear in the data.ini, and even tried changing aircraft CG but with no effect (well, there was an effect of course, but not more gear strut compression...) I cannot really cheat and change the strut length since the scissors link will contact the fwd gear door bottom edge. And most know how long the strut extends as weight comes off the nose on an F-4 - it gets really long. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike D.
  5. Perfect! Just outstanding. Exactly what was needed. Try OnGroundPitchAngle=-2.0 for any stock F-4. Looks 100% better. Thank you everyone. By the way, is there a listing somewhere of any other not-so-well known (by me at least) new data.ini features of the post-08 Patch era? Thanks again. Mike D.
  6. Isn't this an SF2/2nd gen value? Is there anything comparable in the 1st gen sims?
  7. Only nosegear ShockStroke, SpringFactor, DampingFactor and aircraft CG. I went up and down, tried 0.00 and even a negative number for most. Shockstroke gives dramatic effects, but not strut compression. If anyone can come up with a value I'd be interested - the whole F-4 CA community probably would if using stock/MF aircraft! Thanks for the interest. Mike
  8. Nope. Could not make any visual difference with the .INI edits. Did it in the animation slot for the nosewheel leg. Now for some revised .LODs...
  9. O.K. I'll try again - I think I tried going up and down by a factor of 2, 10, etc. - some put the nose into the dirt, some bounced the thing 100 feet into the air, but nothing I tried compressed that darned strut about 8 inches or so.....which is what we need. The TW F-104G has similar issues also I think. I'm ready to cheat the size of the fwd nose gear door just to shorten the strut a bit.
  10. Here is a photo of a Mirage 5 in 2005 from Airliners.net, presumably with the same mil spec colors and they look recently applied also. The appearance will certainly change as it sits in the sun for several years! I have found that both shades of green lose their yellow/olive tint and become a more faded green, almost with a slight bluish tint (play with a painting program a bit). In the extreme, both colors start to look a similar shade and are hard to differentiate. All this would depend upon any number of factors. Mike D.
  11. With a renewed interest in the Mirage recently, I checked this skin set out today and it is just outstanding. It should have received a great deal more praise than it received. It is complete and historically researched - very well done and a must have for WOI owners. Thanks very much, Mike D.
  12. Does anyone have a recon version of the Mirage III in the works? Mike D.
  13. Did any of these recon Mirages ever appear for download? I thought perhaps I missed them. Thanks, Mike D.
  14. Zulu Alert

  15. Check this out: http://idfaf.110mb.com/Phantom/PhantomMain.html Click on each serial number for photos, some just outstanding!
  16. Super. Do those doors hang open under the wing when the 5" rockets are mounted?
  17. A solution would be to delete the existing pylon using the "component" method, then make up a new one and position it in the new location. Tougher to locate the mesh names in 2nd generation .LODs though. Wish TK had provided .OUT files for the new planes. It sure looks like the outer pylon cannot carry any store (except rockets) if the inboard (2nd from outside) HVAR carrier has rockets on them.
  18. Happy Birthday to Dels

A very Happy Birthday to you. Mike D.

  20. Thanks for all of the effort for this - I really love this airplane, and can't get enough schemes and markings for it. Without a doubt, my all time favorite bipe. Thanks again. Mike D.
  21. Has anyone made up higher resolution templates for Ajunaidr's B-57s? These planes are definately more accurate than the default B-57s. I have been unable to contact him. Thanks, Mike D.
  22. Israel never flew B or D model Phantoms, as some rumors have suggested.
  23. Nice job, always nice to see historical skins for SEA acft...even if they are Navy...
  24. Oh don't think I was picking on anyone! Just adding a little info. I have one coming soon here. Wiki is good for lots of things, but they miss now and then.
