Hehehe, this is funny! http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22313568-13762,00.html Porn thief caught red-faced in public toilet By Phoebe Stewart August 27, 2007 12:00am Article from: Northern Territory News A MAN caught stealing a porn magazine was caught in a public toilet just minutes later. The 19-year-old man emerged red-faced from the disabled toilets in Darwin's Karama Shopping Centre. The security guard and Karama Newsagency owner Peter Cullip had been waiting for the man for more than 10 minutes. "He was pretty embarrassed," Mr Cullip, 43, said. "We can only guess what he was doing in there." Mr Cullip said the man came into the newsagency about 2.30pm on Saturday. I thought he looked a bit too casual, so I had a look at the CCTV footage," Mr Cullip said. Mr Cullip said the CCTV camera caught the thief putting a Fiesta magazine up his T-shirt, and then leaving the store. The magazine - a British soft-core porn adult magazine, which features girl-next-door-type models - retails for $9.95. Mr Cullip, watching the thief on CCTV in his office, went out of the store to stop him but he was no-where to be seen. But with the help of the shopping centre's security guard, they discovered he had locked himself inside the public disabled toilet. They waited about 10 minutes before calling the police. But before police officers arrived, the man emerged embarrassed from the toilet. "He was saying, `C'mon, let me go. I'll pay for it'," Mr Cullip said. "It was all lies he was telling us, he may have had suspicions that we were waiting for him." Mr Cullip said when police arrived, they took the man to collect the $9.95 and returned with him to pay the money back. He said the man had been given a "slap on the wrist" for trespass.

Those were Su-25s dude. It was the Mig-25s who manned up and took shots at coalition forces... a pair of whacky Iraqis who had the balls to take on a pair of Eagles from approx 40kms+ out, got nothing but air, bolted, had another pair of Eagles give chase had up to 10 missiles shot at him as they scarpered!(the Eagles got nothing but air too).* I'll give props for the ballsiness but... *Atkinson, Rick. Odd aircraft - Dornier Do 200 for example

Doesn't that happen to most older prop jobs, particularly when they're diving? I'd heard a story that this isn't necessarily so for modern turbo props. Something to do with composite or variable pitch blades, or even the tapered tips of the props themselves. If someone's got info on that, I'd like to know. Back on topic, this doesn't necessarily qualify as an odd aircraft, I just never realised it was used outside of the Russian AF. -

Noooo! A Flanker in IDF/AF colours...? Such blasphemy!! Very nice skin though. I noticed you've got the afterburners vecotored down on a sharp angle. Have you had any success with them vectoring up? -
Indian Air Force floats tender for 126 fighter jets

Wasn't there an African nation that bought something like like 10 or so Mig-29s recently, sometime around 2001 (I'm pretty sure it may have been Sudan or Eritrea), to use in a war against their neighbours but found almost immediately how labour intensive maintenance they were and were only able to keep a couple flight worthy. -

Yeah, but the Indians want the APG-79 AESA array and I don't think Boeing will sell them that. If they can get the equivelent from Russia or Israel or if their own indigenous contractors can produce one or a derivative of what's being used in the MKI, they go for that in a heartbeat. I think the biggest concern for India is to make sure they're not beholden to anyone should, say, hostilities were to errupt with Pakistan. They haven't had this problem with Russia and only in the last few weeks has the US stated that it will withhold some of the techs in the nu-killer transfer until it gets assurances that they'll only be used for civilian purposes and that the reactors can be inspected. Something like this is will sour the deal for the US fighters methinks. I mean it's a great diplomatic tool, but in this case it'll hurt their chances. -

I've been seeing schematics of this double delta for years but this is the first actial photo I've seen. Doesn't it help produce higher lift at lower speeds? -

Like the Harrier? Who thought taking a wing off to service the engine would be... troublesome IMHO, I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that India will pick a US aircraft. The US and Indian governments have bumped heads over India's civil and military Nu-Kyi-ler (I love you whacky Americans ) programs and was quick to place embargos on them and Pakistan for nuclear testing way back in 1998/1999. Also, one of the stipulations of the deal is a complete tech transfer which I don't expect the US will be too keen to indulge. Besides (RANT ON:), where large US contractors are concerned, a promise of full tech transfers aren't necessarily worth the paper they're written on as UK, Denmark and Australia have found out with JSF (RANT OFF.) I think the front runner is definitely the Mig-35. There is already a Mig poduction/maintenance plant for Mig-29s in India (I think it was set up with funds from Mig-Mapo? Not sure), the new generation Mig-29k has been selected for the Navy, it has much more commonality with existing IAF aircraft (Su-30, Mig-29, Mirage 2k) and Russia has no qualms about transfering tech to India in the past, irrespective of what India does on the world stage. That said though, I wouldn't mind seeing Indian Navy Rafaels or IAF Typhoons alongside the MKIs. It's a shame about the Rafael, it seems like a great plane, just no one's buying it... -

Nope, why would we ban you if you're helping someone out? Personally I'm thinking the Gripen or the Mig-31 will be the ones to be released as they seem to be further along than the the other WIPs but keep in mind, I'm not involved any of these projects so I don't know what's going down. -
Will Foobs get these well wishes, or do you think he's tearing it up in his cruiser as we speak...? Happy birthday pops!

New A2G weapon from Iran
SayethWhaaaa replied to Redddevil911's topic in Military and General Aviation
Of the 79 they had, they have something like 34-40 that still remain airworthy. Iran's been producing parts for their Tomcats for years! They have a pretty decent military industrial base plus have a huge complex at Mehrabad international airport, but they produce a large number of components for their F-4s and F-14s, not forgetting they've successfully reverse engineered the F-5. It's hard for people to swallow, but they do have a fairly decent aerospace industry. It may not be world leading, but it's not the mickey mouse operation that a lot of people in the west like to believe it is... -

I'm guilty for using that line of thinking... Before I moved up here to the 6th floor, the clique in my old office are some one the grumpiest and bitchiest people I'd ever met. They'd come in and decide, "Hey, there's SayWhat?! (I've changed my name by deed poll ) I'm going to vent in his general direction about the most trivial crap." I generally let them do their thing and afterwards all I'd say was "You weren't hugged much as a child... were you?" They'd usually walk off in a huff and bitch to someone else. Unfortunately, these people are in their late 30s to mid 40s. I figure if they haven't learned that by now... what's the point? I just hope they don't breed and have stupid kids who follow in their footsteps and are just as dopey. One question, do environmental laws also protect against people who pollute the gene pool??
