No... no no no... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awwwww crap! I feel your pain buddy. I went through something similar a short time ago, lost a hole bunch of customised aircraft. It sucks hard!! But that's great progress in the mean time! -
Adding available weapons to campaigns
SayethWhaaaa replied to tmdgm's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Or using weapon editor, you could copy one, rename it (because you'll have to) and give it an earlier inservice date. Then it should show up earlier by default. -
Just curious, but did(do?) you get some kind of bonus for that kind of marathon?

WTF?? Do you work at EA or something?? If so, I'm surprised they let you home!

Gotta skin in the works...
SayethWhaaaa posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I made this about 30 seconds after I downloaded the Flanker: It's not complete yet but I think it's reasonably accurate at the moment. Still have a few things to do to it. I don't have any Erusian Decals though... -
How the hell does it poop?? Does it just build up until one day, poof! a mushroom dookie cloud can be seen on the horizon???

I can speak with a Deutsche accent, does that make me multilingual? How are we for asian languages? I've noticed we've had a few problems with Korean and Chinese members wanting to contribute but being arrested by the language barrier. (Although Kei Nagase seems to be battling along nicely). I used to be able to speak a little Japanese but I don't think it'll help.

IMHO, I think Urotsukidoji should have finished at one, the others just killed it for me. The ending of the first was gold! Has anyone seen Super Atragon?? Been trying to find a copy but it's a bugger to get hold of apparantly... (in Australia anyways) Here's the synopsys if you don't know about it: "Moments after an atomic bomb falls over Hiroshima, a secret Japanese submarine sails into battle against its American counterpart, and both are lost to history. Some fifty years later, the long-lost sub astonishingly reappears, as a mysterious black cylinder threatens a special UN task force sent to investigate unusual phenomena in Antarctica. However, the incident in the Antarctic is only the first round in a cataclysmic battle of wills between two descendants of an ancient race dwelling within the Earth. Standing against them is a single, amazing ship - the RA, a Yamato-class battle sub secretly rebuilt after its supposed destruction in World War II. A science fiction masterpiece with a brilliant story and stunning animation, Super Atragon is a classic no one should miss!" Also, I used to be a HUGE fan of Patlabour 1 & 2 although, I didn't really get into 3 only becasue it was a decade late and voice actors were different. I might need to give it another chance though...

F-20 Tigershark
SayethWhaaaa replied to Major Lee's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It was also cleared to carry up to four sparrows and had a slightly knocked down radar from the F-16A (I think it was the AN/APG-66 or 67). It's biggest fault was the fact that it was a plane that had reached the end of it's development cycle and that it had to compete with the F-16 that had almost limitless potential for expansion and systems growth (or it's cheaper, versatile stablemates in the F-5E and Mig-21). Even though it could reach Mach 2.1, it didn't bring anything new to the table so to speak. Lightweight, Mach 2 fighter/strike fighters were the standard and the F-20 really didn't improve on this standard. Especially when you consider that at the end of it's career, the F-5/F-20 design could carry 2 IRs and 4 SAHMs and the F-16 just out of preschool could already do that... That said, I'm still a fan of the Tigershark and other "also rans" and think they would make a fine addition to this sim! -
I'm going for a similar system, though I'm going 4gig ram, 500gig hard drive, it's only gonna set me back around $800-$1k AUD. I haven't settled for a video card yet, but even with a higher end one, that's only another $200AUD roughly. And I guarantee my GF will fill my HD with Grey's BLOODY Anatomy and Ugley Betty within a month.... Chicks, I dunno

Does that mean they had him by the short and curlies?

USAF: Air Dominance?
SayethWhaaaa replied to Hawk MMS's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I haven't heard of this before, I'm guessing it's been around for a few years. Nice C-17 though! -
It shows up a few times in TNG, most notably during the first season after the crew of the Enterprise contract a disease that causes them to party down and basically do a Rodney Dangerfield (minus girls in bikins). At the start of that Ep, Enterprise contacts them and hears what seems to be a party taking place. When suddenly, someone dares one of the crew to blow open the airlock on the bridge...

Add-on planes don't show in Multiplay
SayethWhaaaa replied to arcuspilot's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Hang on, they're not showing up when you setup an MP even though there are no other players on your lan? Is this correct? -

SayethWhaaaa replied to arcuspilot's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Plus they have to match exactly in some cases. If you're doing it via lan, just copy the whole folder over with the aircraft, its skins etc in it. What I usually do is copy the sounds, Aircraft and Weapons folders and that usually works fine. You may need to copy over the ground objects folder too, but I'm not too sure. -
Isn't the internet just a series of tubes...? http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/40375/...rnet_Tubes.html

Easy, Neon Genesis Evangellion! The first 5-6 episodes are kinda cheesy overload, but from that point each episode gets grittier and grittier until you get to the end and everything's just a big mess! If you can get past the first 6 eps, you'll be sucked in like a black hole! NGE was the yardstick when it was released 10 years ago!

Question about infantry
SayethWhaaaa replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
"Well the last plane out of Sydney`s almost gone..." That's the first and last time I'll ever sing Chisel, EVER! Aussies will get that one... -
Cheers Dave, ANZAC day's becoming more popular with the kiddies these last few years too which is good to see because there was bugger all participation from the younger crowds when I was a kid (I'm talking 21 and under). A mate of ours from 11 Sqn just got back from Iraq so it was good to catch up with him for a midweek, mid morning BBQ and beer. And my brother in law's dad too! He was nicely toasted when we caught up with him. He's a ADF (Army)Vietnam Veteran, though not exactly sure what he did whilst there. He's a bit deaf from it (kind of like when someone listening to a walkman or ipod sounds when they try to talk to you) but I didn't wanna probe him for it. He has some great shots from his time on the Vung Tau Ferry travelling there, hopefully I'll be able to get my grubbies on some and post them. Hopefully...

...what a COFFIN/non COFFIN aircraft is? I'm guessing it has something to do cockpit ergonomics, or maybe even the manoeuvrability of an aircraft and how it relates to the pilot? I'm not sure... very confused though. Lil' help?

After all the crap you guys went through the other day, now you have put up with this crap: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21589299-2,00.html To quote Bill Murray from Ghostbuster: "Yes, this man has no penis."

Can someone explain to me...?
SayethWhaaaa replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in Military and General Aviation
Cheers dude, you're a champ! I was thinking it may be an accronym, but I'd heard of the coffin corner and it confused the hell outta me. I'm still confused, just not completely -
No, I just heard rumors that he didn't want to do a third and I was wondering how they were going to release it with a 'new' jason Bourne.
