Heh, I got the account set up, then it tells I'm "unable to log in due to 'issues'". lol! It's like the Pepsi Max of gaming servers, or I just have impeccable timing. Probably a little from Column A, and a little from Column B.

Nah, nothing with EA, only Steam with those two addresses.

My god that looks rad! As for the carrier, who says it has to be a ski-jump one? Why not a smaller CATOBAR one? -

I love that the Chinese accused Japan, with no sense of irony, of "constant” military expansion". That's right, the country currently inducting the Liaoning. That's a nice shot of the Izumo, Samurai! -

So I've been dying for something to laugh about recently, and thankfully, the gods provided a couple of days ago. Well, at least the white trash in one of my old stomping grounds did. I used to go to high school in Northfield, right near where this took place. It was a common mentality back then. Seems like nothing's changed... http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-07-23/driver-charged-over-car-with-no-steering-wheel/4837680?section=sa Just for the record, the positive drug test show cannabis and Methamphetamine.

You want walking and unmanned, you can't go past Big Dawg... but this is pretty damned cool.

You sound like Eric Cartman.

So the final tally is: Driving dangerously, on two blown tyres, using vice grips due to no steering wheel, being in a fender bender, fleeing the scene, driving while his license was disqualified, in an unregistered car, and uninsured, that's previously been defected (declared unroadworthy by the bacon, I dunno what you guys call it overseas), whilst under the influence of weed and meth. AND whilst on bail! Jesus! I'm willing to bet the police didn't add 'no seat belt' because they ran out of space on the docket. Now, I've tried both of those drugs during a reckless, foolish period in my life more than ten years ago and I can honestly say, it wouldn't have been the drugs (though they definitely wouldn't have helped). I had never done, nor seen any of my buddies at the time do anything remotely resembling something like this. There's an underlying level of stupid here that's just off the charts! Probably a long history of a lack of genetic diversity in this dude's family tree. I'd kinda like to have been one of the arresting cops. It'd would have been a memorable collar for sure! It's because of people like this that we have warnings on claymores.

It's a great series so far, especially Stuart Broad's Day 3 stint, even though he was given out twice... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rel6XR-vOGo I do have one question though, is there currently such a severe shortage of professional umpires in UK that you have to resort to using someone as pathetic as Aleem Dar (and his terrible umpiring track record) to ump and important games like the ashes, or have the Pakistani betting syndicates been able to sneak one of their guys in? I would give you English hell for Broad not walking, but I won't for two reasons 1: I know the unwritten rule in cricket today is pretty much "if there's any doubt whatsoever, stand your ground"-- so I can understand why he didn't walk and that's fair enough. and 2: I know how insufferable you Poms (particularly the Balmy Army) get when you're right about anything cricket related or you get some vindication on any level , and since Pup did the same thing overnight, it'd be a bit hypocritical (otherwise known as standard practice in British sports journalism! BAM! Ooooohhhhh!! ) These instances notwithstanding, it's a great series thus far, and we're going to have a hell of a time wrestling them back from your grip, and not just because Michael Clarke is our captain. Bring it on! ps, fantastic to see Agar come out of nowhere and the magnanimous praise from both sides! I haven't see an Australian bowler dominate with the wood like that since Glen McGrath scored a whole 15 runs at Adelaide Oval once (a career high at the time I think. ). Can't wait to see how this ends!

The utterly atrocious weather would have had a marked effect on conventional carrier ops-- ie, in many circumstances the FAA/RAF faced in 1982, it wouldn't have even been possible. That's part of the reason the V/STOL platform proved so effective. The RN would have had to operate their carriers at a much greater distance to avoid some of the awful conditions, but it probably wouldn't result in that much of a difference in your experiment except for longer transit times, longer loiter times for strike and CAS packages and some more IFR. Though what would have been the AIM-7s used by the Phantoms? I thought I read (somewhere) that AIM-7Es lost much of their effectiveness in poor weather conditions. -
Portuguese Mirage III/V?

Yeah, I remember seeing this in the Aviation Classic issue 17 that came out last year. There was bugger all on our Mirages and the Cheetah and way too much on the Kfir and it's US service, but it had this golden little nugget of 'What-if" hidden away. -
Asiatic 777 crash in San Fran.
SayethWhaaaa replied to Swordsman422's topic in Military and General Aviation
Another Boeing 777 incident too... Whether it's a technical issue or not, Boeing's gotta be pretty nervous that their new ride showing up in the news like this. In the reports I've been reading, one of the survivors was saying it seemed like they were going to land short with the pilot powering up just before landing. There have been other witnesses on the ground saying the aircraft veered off the runway shortly after hitting. We'll know soon enough. -

They mostly flew with the RAF 3 colour roundel up until then and I've seen these in artwork having them under wing, but most of what you'll find is with the white roundel. I think I have some snaps somewhere. I'll see if I can dig 'em up. But hadn't they already started transitioning them to the white roundel from around that time? -
