Which is best one to go for
SayethWhaaaa replied to Fleet Command CC's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'm not 100% sure about that any more. Since I patched WOV to current, none of my ships nor any anti-shipping seems to work in it for me at all. -
Which is best one to go for
SayethWhaaaa replied to Fleet Command CC's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
They're pretty much all the same, at least, the first generation of the WOx series is since the last series of patches. I haven't tried SF2 yet, but the graphical improvements include support for high res skins and there's a slight re-organisation of the file tree. But if you're talking about the first gen WOx games, the differences are minimal once you patch them with the latest patches. And by minimal, I mean it's just the campaigns that come with the game, the default terrain and stock aircraft. If you buy SF, you'll get the Dhimar/Paran terrain, in WOE it's the Europe terrain and so on. That's all that separates the series (again, after they've been patched to the current patches). -
Yeah, it's true. Governments down here are thinking of maybe thinking about scheduling some time to consider the thought of possibly entertaining the idea of making a proposition of a pipe line to send flood waters from futre deluges to top up the resevoirs down south. So we know it isn't going to happen. Especially not with Penny Wong as an 'environmental' minister. :threaten: She's about as friendly to the environment a DDT! Here's an interesting story on news.com.au today. Fir real!

Yeah, this time, I think it might have been me! I just find some of the Eastern weapons to be pretty woeful compared to some of the specs I've seen. I created an entry for the R-77M which should have had operating characteristics similar to the AIM-120C... although, this one never seemed to miss when used in conjunction with the capability of the Mig-23-98's avionics set. Oops. A quick re-colour to make me nostalgic about Distant Thunder. Definitely need to improve my aim... -
There was a story in the national news (ABC NewsRadio) here last week saying Adelaide has only a year's worth of drinking water left and Melbourne has only slightly more due to the lowest rain intake on record. When at capacity, South Australia's resevoirs hold a little less than a year's supply. Right now, they're below 50% AFAIK, and there's no rain in sight... Looking like another dry winter again.

K, this shouldn't be. I was tinkering with a Mig-23MLD to get an approximation of the unbuilt Mig-23-98-2 and in the process of a live fire exercise, took down 6 F-22s (from R-77Ms) with the loss of only 1 friendly (I got three personally. Woot! ). I hadn't been expecting any F-22s at all. I figured being able to hold their own against F-15s/F-16s would suffice for the moment. The kills: Number 1 Number 2 Number 3 The weird part of this is a pair of Canadian CF-188s tore me a new one next round using weapons from 1993 (AIM-7Ms, AIM-9Ls). Heh, Go figure... -
Damn... I hope he saved often!

My sentiments exactly... ...about the Blackhawk.

MIRAGE IVA WIP UPDATE
SayethWhaaaa replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Interesting note. Soon as I grabbed this puppy, I modded the wing hardpoints to be able to carry a pair of MERs. With 6 under each wing and the nuke on the centreline, it wouldn't budge until I jettisoned something... Think I overloaded the sucker. heh Veltro, seriously, this is an awesome piece of kit! You've made my week dude! -
That's fair enough. If you're going in as a GSO, you won't have any problems (I reckons :smile). Plus, you're young, which helps if what you want isn't available to begin with. EDIT: Awww... crap. That means I'd have to start calling you sir eventually.

Fantastic! Congratulations!! Don't stress about ADFA though. If you haven't quite made the grade, but are keen to get in, they'll assist you for sure. Are you in High School or Uni?

Yeah, but using a Chinook is like using a greyhound bus in the Indy 500. Not to mention how loud the Chook is. Apparently you can hear it LOOOOOONG before your stinger can see it. That in itself can't be good!
-
Maybe, maybe not. The F-22 is one helluva plane, but when it's cost is about the same as a contemporary frigate, you can't seriously expect to more than a couple hundred total to be serving. I think the JSF idea was the way to go, applying the stealth/sensor fusion technologies to a multirole platform while not having to develop the technologies from scratch, which is what the ATF/Raptor program pretty much had to do. Now, if a second generation Raptor specialising on combining lowering the cost of the production/unit price with the upgrades needed to stay competitive on the market, the USAF would find themselves in a much cozier position than now with the "robbing Peter to pay Paul" methods of cut backs they're facing to fund the program (well, not now I guess).

This one completely snuck up on me, the last I'd heard Soviet Assault had been cut from production, despite World In Conflict getting a fantastic reception. Anyways, I'm curious, are there any WiC fans on here? Also, just saw this trailer today, love the Fuel Air burst! Trailer

K, depending on which demo you have, it may in fact be the full version too. When I bought my copy, it came with a free 10 day trial game. I gave it to my buddy and he very quickly found that it wasn't a demo!

Before you guys get stuck into them, the Aus$6 Billion reference is to to the SuperBug deal, and that's not taking into consideration the Aus$300 Million plan to convert at least half into Growlers. Wow, Bigpond news is really a no frills service these days huh? I guess what they save on details, they spend on customer service! Hahaha... ahhh... I should've been in standup. :p

Hope I'm not doing too many skins
SayethWhaaaa replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
You can never have too many skins! Heh, I can always tell when you've uploaded skins. When I look in the downloads section under FE and there's at least 4 queued files, I know you've been around. It's great work! Keep it up! -
Who Prime Minister is the biggest spoiled brat in the world...?

...it would seems ours (Australia's) is unfortunately. Article I don't care what side of politics you come from, but this is appalling behaviour for any person, let alone a head of state! -
You ever notice when you zoom in, down to the weeds where your boys are, they have conversations amongst themselves??

That's my point exactly. Okay, they didn't have it. There could have been better communication between the PM's office and 34 Sqn staff(I mean, they're 15 mins down the road from Parliament at the airport!) if it was that important, but to swear and curse an attendant, making her feel like complete sh*t is totally unreasonable! If he was an employer, that kind of bullying would be illegal. The PM went on to say (from the ABC this morning): What a douchebag. -

Heh, hey, none taken. I just figure, you give the keys to the country to a new leader, they act like a complete tool behind the scenes and towards their staff, they deserve a bit of a slap. IMHO of course. -
AIR REFUELING
SayethWhaaaa replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I dunno. There have been a ton of times I've had to trip skip because my Spad wouldn't make the 800km/1000km round trip with a full load. -
I dunno, he suckered us into reading it! Nice 1 Mace!
