I gotta say Spec, that's shown remarkable restraint on your part! -

Always with the Lavi. Let it go man... Besides, I always thought it looked like the bastard offspring of an F-16 and a Gripen. -

Now that is something I'm definitely looking forward to! Keep up the good work lads! -
This happened in my town yesterday. I've seen people screw the pooch while trying to impress the lady folk before. I've even broken a few bones in the process of showing off myself, but this... this is a whole new level. Check it out how comprehensively the driver has Fubared this car.! Here: I mean, hats of to you sir! :clapping: Ps. Both driver and passenger escaped unharmed.

October 2008 patches for ALL ThirdWire Sims has been released.
SayethWhaaaa replied to FastCargo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I don't see what people are cracking the sh*ts about. Pretty much whenever there's been a new patch, we've all come out and said "for best results, patch a clean install." You don't have to install any new patch, nor do you have to do it to a fresh install. But patching a fresh install does allow you to take a peek at the changes without screwing up any of your existing mods. If you do notice an discernible difference between the new patch and the previous version you have been using, it's all up to you. Don't like it? Don't apply the new one to your modded install. It's as simple as that. It's not like COD or something where you have to be up to date in order to play online. That said, after patching, I'm not a big fan of then porting all of my modded stuff over to my up to date install , but the beauty of this game is it's modular format. It's freaking simple to do, it just takes time to add everything and make sure it's working and time is something I have increasingly less of these days. This isn't like patching an EA game where your 100-500meg patches are fixing important stuff that never fully worked anyways. These patches are designed to bring all the features (whatever they may be) that were introduced incrementally through the SF/WOX/FE series and produce a more rounded, enjoyable experience for you, irrespective of which one you own. Right, I'm gonna go have a little lie down. -

You should win a prize if only for making the first (prolly) reference to PCU Pit Party on this site. Heh. Bantam: "A casual shoe for yachting...?" Rand: "What is a blucher." Greycap, they should all feature added features of the newer games and have a pretty high rate of commonality. -
One thing's for sure, you're all going to know your state capitols now.

Favour needed
SayethWhaaaa replied to russouk2004's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hey Russ, I've got a bit of a beam setup working, sorta: This is the pulse length with the short tail and sort of works for slower firing weapons. If you set your lazy beams to have a slower fire rate along the line of the fighters in something like Wing Commander, this will kinda fit. This one has a much longer tail (up to about 1 km I think), however, this one has the problem of the beam appearing through your vehicle, as opposed to emanating from it. The pulse type I showed up there ^^ is quick enough to miss, but does this too. Plus if you change your pitch, etc, you get this: The biggest issue(s) for me has been trying to figure out how to get the tracer to appear from a sufficient distance away from the aircraft so as to give the impression of being shot from it and to a lesser degree, seeing the beam/pulse curve over distance. At least with the latter, you can fudge it and tell potential customers that is has something to do with the Coriolis effect. If you want, I'll post the data to recreate the visuals for these when I get home. You might be able to do something with it. -
(*gulp*) downgrading Skyray

Oh... I thought TK wasn't going down that road. Cool. Those Parani types have been oppressing the freedom loving peoples of Dhimar for too long. With this patch, I intend to take the fight to those imperialist Parani lackeys! -

SayethWhaaaa replied to Reddevil0911's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Nope. It worked before the latest patches. -
For me, a steam room or a hot shower. Drinking water and absorbing the moisture through your pores in your skin can take some of the edge off of the dehydration. But never swimming. That's never worked for me. All my nurse/ambo buddies have said that Gatorade is supposed to be good too.

RAAF Super Hornet skin
SayethWhaaaa replied to PigDriver's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Have 1 and 6Sqn merged? I just thought they were all just operating outta Amberley to minimise support costs for the pig. You know how tetchy the government gets when the words "F-111" and "Costs" are used in the same sentence. -
Where to find a Rafale?
SayethWhaaaa replied to Trancer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Mine works fine post patch. Tried it in all the WOX games. When you say yours isn't working, what is it doing/not doing? -
F-35C Lightning II
SayethWhaaaa replied to Klavs81's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I dunno... the extra wing space makes a fully loaded wing seem less crowded. The A model carrying outer wing IRMs just looks a little off IMO (not the the TW sim model, the actual RL design of the outer wing rails). Yeah, I can't quite put my finger on it... -

Hawaii...
SayethWhaaaa replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
...and maybe a sound modpack so every radio broadcast ends with "Mahalo"? Hotdamn I miss that place. It's almost a year to the day since I was last there... :cray: -
I'll second that! Getting successive governments to realise the true utility of the LHD/LPH, let alone the value of the Aircraft Carrier (compared to 4 other classes that do the same jobs) has been an exercise in futility. I hope I'm wrong, but I've got the feeling the Milky Bar Kid will deny the RAN the 3rd Flat top.

Ace combat paint schemes
SayethWhaaaa replied to THEJETDEMON's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Yeah, I have a stack of them (about Aus $100). They aren't skins per se, but mods. ie The Mobius Sqn F-22 has enhanced air to air characteristics, the Gryphus Sqn F-22 has enhanced all round capabilities, the Yellow Sqn Su-33 is more agile etc. I think they've just released another pack in the last fornight or so. Also, the Jackal Lantern F-14 is stealthy... -
What aircraft you miss in game?

SayethWhaaaa replied to Chaser617's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You can go straight to the Sp4 release AFAIK, but the patches are named by the dates they were released, so go chronologically and you'll have their release order. I think... I'm positive you can go straight to SP4 as my SFG install only has the SP4 patch applied.
