  1. Whew... Bullet dodged.

For me it was NFS 3 and the ability to add your own cars. I think I had about 150 at one point.
  2. Whew... Bullet dodged.

I just love that, as of midday Aust. CST, all of the 13 comments posted hated the idea of EA getting their grubbies on GTA! I think the popular consensus is that they would balls it up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of EA but I like a few of their titles, Zero Hour (CWC mod), BF2 (Australian Forces mod), Underground 2, although just about all of them are modded in one way or another. I just get the impression that if they did acquire the GTA series it'd be like watching them take something like CoD 4 and tarting it out to be like somebland BF2 clone. Whatever happened to the EA of my misspent youth that produced quality titles like Road Rash, Jungle Strike, Mutant Hockey League, FIFA international Soccer...? (sigh)...
  3. Sea Harrier Frs Mk.1

Yeah, that's where I thought I scored mine...
  4. Sea Harrier Frs Mk.1

Try grabbing here or have another look at column5, the FRS. 51 is there. But the link to the campaign also has the IA-58 Pucara too.
  5. OMGWTFBBQ

Patience dude. With the WOx series, get your hands dirty first. Fly the planes around for a week or so, so you get the feel of the sim. You'll answer the majority of your smaller questions by having a play around with it and figuring out what to do when, etc. It's a really easy sim to get into and pretty forgiving compared to the likes of LOMAC. That said, welcome to CA dude! ps. Like Caesar said, the swing wings are all automatic in this series. They move relative to your airspeed.
  6. Happy Birthday HrntFixr

Happy Bday Mr. Fixer!! Have a good one champ!
  7. We'll bust out the blankets and C-rations nevertheless! Hope it blows over quick like!
  8. finally home after a week in a settlement

Wish weddings here were like that! Sadly, it's just bridezillas and flaky grooms... What's Schwarma? Looks a bit like Yiros. Take it easy dude!
  9. USAF Tanker contract troubles...

Personally, I'm thinking this is all Boeing. They gets the absolute sh*ts (pardon my french) when they lose a contract, even if it's outright, and use all their influence to pressure the decision makers into coming down on the Boeing side. They're notorious for having done so here in Oz in both the Civilian and Military markets, they've done it in South Korea, they got a bad rep from their solicitations to the Singapore government and it's officials and with the KC-X program, their contender was comprehensively defeated by the Northrop/Grumman/Airbus contender. I will give them this though, Boeing puts up a good fight...
  10. When did you start modding...

For me, it came about when hanging around with a couple of buds who got me into gaming with them in HS. It started with making Civ 2 scenarios and new units in '97, then I stopped when I moved away to play Ice Hockey. When I came back in 99, they were heavily into Co-oping and campaigning and RTS games, so we went to town making maps, campaigns, (with new voice, video, ships, etc) mods for Freespace 2 and Red Alert, Red Alert 2, all stuff we played amongst friends, mostly co-op mods. Then My buddy and I got into StarFleet Command and around the same time, scored a copy of 3dsm and we began making starships, campaigns, etc for a few of his mates (and a couple of linebackers buddies of ours who were fearsome when using Gorn/Kzinti resp!). I came across the SF series purely by chance when I went to re-hire LOMAC and, funnily enough, came across CA when looking for mods for it, but all I could find was this SF crap. : Eventually I put 2 and 2 together and picked up a copy. It was the first game I'd played since SFC 1/2 where I could get into the nuts and bolts and tinker about with just about everything. It's a shame that more games don't allow you to do that as, for me, that's part of the fun. Compared to the WOx series, modding stuff like Zero Hour or San Andreas is like trying to squeeze blood from a stone...
  11. And here we go...

I'll pay the doomsday nutjobs one, but not the BBT one. I've seen enough big bangs with near misses that have given me a healthy respect for them.
  12. "Dear Leader" is dead?

This makes for interesting reading... What do you guys think?
  13. And here we go...

Isn't the test going to be active for something like, a year? I heard something about the atoms being smashed 22000 times per second and that this will take place over a year...
  14. "Dear Leader" is dead?

Don't forget the cult of personality that he's fostered since Pop's Death in '94. This is a society geared around a figure who's the focas of every level all the way down to the family. When Kim Il Sung died, people were literally freaking out! This is the way North Korean society has been for 50 years. With things being as fragile as they are, North Korean leadership isn't gonna want to go through that again! It could literally break them... Now for the rest of us, watching the communist regime break apart isn't necessarily going to be a bad thing, but for the Koreans, it's gonna suck mightily.
  15. There's nothing stopping you from making your own versions of the weapons that are more resistant to spoofing. When it comes to the Eastern Bloc weapons, particularly the more modern ones, I've always felt they were a little under performing. I'm not going to argue with the authors of the weapons packs because I know they're trying to create the realism from the data they have at hand, but I find it a little frustrating when my R-77s get spoofed immediately, but my AMRAAMs almost never miss. I like my enemies to have teeth, no matter who they are. Also, with the older missiles, don't forget that their tracking hardware was pretty rudimentary. Half the time it was luck that early model Aim-9s hit their target and this was especially true for early generation Soviet AAMs. My advice, play around with the weapons editor and see what you come up with.
  16. Su-39

I accidentally broke my LOMAC disc... :cray:
  17. Su-39

Ooh! Very Nice! Been looking forward to this one too!
  18. "Dear Leader" is dead?

There's a follow up of sorts for this story... Here: Speaking of doubles, wasn't Al-Gaddafi reported to employ their use?
  19. And here we go...

You're just beggin' for them big discs to come down and ruin your July 4th bbq!
  20. And here we go...

Come to my country and say that! We're into our seventh year of drought, my city's main source of water is on it's deathbed (stoopid Queenslanders and Ruddling! ) and summers over the past four years have been more intense than at any point in the past 20yrs. That said, our issues here are only a little to do with climate change and more to do with farmers and local governments p*ssing already scarce water supplies. [Rant off]
  21. Aren't they still using Pratt & Whitney JT3Ds? They've been around since the dawn of the 707 and DC-8, yeah? Aren't they particularly thirsty and, compared with something like today's Rolls-Royce Trent, particularly underpowered? Why was the B-52 re-engine program given the kibosh? Why do I sound like a 6yr old kid asking lots of questions?
  22. Not funny but funny

    Damn... heh, nice spot WK!
  23. And here we go...

Don't worry dude. Statistically speaking, you have more of a chance to choke to death on a lettuce leaf and that's more likely than being involved in a plane accident (1 in 26000 with chance favouring your survival.).
  24. I can't remember if I read it on the TW forums or from the A-Team forums, but anything under 8.1 should work, I think.
