I'm a massive fan of the genre but I prefer the 'end of the world' style Zed films, like the Romero trilogy and the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake. Although I was disappointed with Romero's last two films. Shaun was great and I liked 28 days later (even though they're not zombies! ) but I thought the sequel sucked, even if it did have Rose Burne in it! The opening was great, but after that, there was just way too much about it that wasn't believable...

Being reported in the news here this morning... http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24002814-401,00.html I figure it may provide interesting reading...

Cheers guys! Yeah, I've been walking on my heels in a controlled manner as well as walking down hill a lot as this is supposed to help. I haven't tried the icing because Mum keeps hitting me with the spoon! (Bad joke, I know! : ) I'd heard conflicting accounts from different people on remedies for this so I haven't known which way to jump. Some have said to ice my calves down immediately after exercise, others have said to only do it when I begin to feel the pain (way past that point! ). I haven't been doing that since it's the depths of winter here at the moment and because I've been doing warm down exercises to offset this. I've tried something similar to the towel exercise GodSave and I could certainly feel it stretching, so I'll give that a go more often I think. Cheers Arf, I'll give the rowing machine a try too since no one at my gym is ever using it. Although I've spoken to a former DI who's going to show me another type of stretch that should allow me to work the muscle while avoiding the impact too. What's really been confusing me is that I have people on both sides here saying that I should stop completely for a few days and rest up, whilst I have others telling me to power through (and from what I've heard, that one's pretty counterproductive.). ps. I used to swim a bit too, Stick, but more so for when I younger and my respiratory system was a bit crap. It's kinda hard to find a pool around here that's open during winter...

Well... LM used a crayon to show our previous government how the JSF can do the F-111's job faster, sleeker and better with nary more than a purple crayon and the Howard government damn near sold our souls to the project (or just about!), so don't underestimate the power of the <((_CRAYOLA_(()!

Indian Air Force to participate in Exercise Red Flag

To be fair in my role as devil's advocate, it is the most advanced Flanker in service anywhere (Forget the Su-35/37, they're older) and I could understand the UK or US being wary about being watched with electronic eyes. But Jedi's right, it's sort of getting to the point where nations are going to now start fitting 'home' and 'away' radars. -
Hey moderate spender!

I'm down. I've been itching to play against anyone but punks! Unfortunately, the Bar & Grill has gone the way of the Dodo, but there are some good places still left...

I think I may need to change my mind. There was no Elisha Cuthbert in MacGuyver and that's a big MINUS in my book. That said, I think Chuck from the nerd herd could do some damage too...

I was just talking about the time since the cold war began to thaw. Since the late 80s I dunno about that. Where I work, EU policy has made my job a hell of a lot easier. When we have to send international students from our university on exchange to EU nations, current EU policy (which requires each European University to use the same credit transfer scheme: ECTS) cuts out about 75% of my wasted time in waiting for individual unis to send me their equivelent criteria, assess our students, assign them a credit rating for transfer, blah blah blah, it's boring stuff. Suffice to say, what used to take close to a week, takes only a few hours now. That said, the bureaucracy that was once there has probably only just shifted elsewhere. Like Agriculture or some kind of naming comittee empowered to restructure the selection process for inter-organisational meeting groups who discuss the re-evaluation of documents to be issued after the latest round of talks encompassing the EADS's chair comittee's inability to find a suitable naming convention to use in the next round of press releases outlining future strategies and sustainable practises that's being co-ordinatd with the aforementioned inter-organisational meeting groups on what prime factors will accounted for in the latest press release on why the A-400M is taking so-goddamned-long to enter service...

Adaware used to be good, but I've heard stories of people in my neck of the woods having trouble with freezing during updating and scans, and in my experience, the current version is pretty crappy. I'm with Jules, go with Spybot S&D. AVG Shield also has an ad scanner integrated into AVG 8 now too.

Only MacGuyver can make a guided bomb from your mum's pantyhose, a half eaten Marsbarm, a steering column and a kid's shoe. And he helped pioneer the 'Aviators'... ...but then again, Jack bauer was once a vampire... Nope, Macguyer, hands down!

Are the French invited this year?? Just being a bastard. Happy Birfday from a younger, smaller sibling one tenth your size!!

How's about some manners instead of demands, please? If it's an account error, we'll have the appropriate staffer look into it and have it rectified asap for you. In future, send a PM to one of us mods, with a brief description of what the problem is and we'll get it sorted. A 'please' wouldn't go astray either...

Now that I've got your attention with that title... Here's an interesting article about a Choice review of the fairness in software pricing in the Australian market comparing the differences in costs between buying software from stores and downloading them from the developer's sites. Check it out Note how EA charges up to 5 times more (in some instances) for the same crap games that you could buy on the cheap in the US...

The CROC HUNTA!!

Heh, I dunno about Kangaroo... name just doesn't sound right. It's been proven to be quite a dopey animal. I mean, it's big, dopey, eats a lot... doesn't seem a fitting name for a fighter. Like calling a fighter "The Sloth". Plus, it doesn't hold a candle to mustang!

XB-70...and more?

I dunno... I reckon I'd use a name like cupcake as a name in something like CoD. I mean, I've used worse. -

I still find it freakin' dificult to take on a B-35/49 in a knife fight! Even a flying tank like an Il-2 or an A-10 looks like a crumpet in the end... -
Nah, it was based on the Wirraway trainer, itself, a development of the NA-16 trainer used in the US at the time. It was only considered a stopgap until some P-51s or Spitfires could be acquired. This one though was designed during the war to be an advanced type ready for service in the event P-51s/Spitfires were unavailable for Intercept/Escort duties. When Lawrence Whackett, head of CAC at the time, suggested license building Mustangs instead of bearing the costs associated with developing a new fighter, it was put on the back burner. Initially when it flew in 46, it was superior to all other single engine props in service as well as most early jet figthers, but it was figured that the development of superior jet aircraft would eclipse prop driven aircraft in only a few years, so it was decided to go with the trend of acquiring jets instead. It's a bit of a shame as it would have been slightly inferior in performance to something like the Skyraider. I think it's fastest recorded speed was roughly 800kph at East Sale(?) AFB. Also, it was one of the last military aircraft developed in Oz. I think most everything else has been built under license. Although the CA.27 Sabre was close, it was still mostly a US aircraft.

Aussie $ is roughly around 93-95c US. So yeah, it's a bit of a rip off. 62 degree ice... is that fahrenheit. Wait, no... because 35*C is about 100*fahrenheit. I'm all confused...
