  1. JAS-39 Gripen N

Ooh... very nice. Where'd you get the info for this from dude?
  2. Remember Cope India.

Yeah, this new trend of having twice the scanning range compared to legacy systems and the newer Russian missiles having almost twice the range compared to Western platforms is going to be an interesting one to watch...
  3. What about 'Killbastarddeathmachine'? Has a nice ring to it.
  4. Hey Pab, you can find it at: http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ But if you don't know by know, you'll have to email the A-team to get a password for download access. Don't sweat it though, it only takes a day or so and they've got a ton of cool stuff there. Their email address should be on the site, otherwise PM me and I'll find it for you.
  5. Remember Cope India.

Maybe an Su-30, but the MKI is a different kettle of fish. Its more advanced than the other Su-30s and IAF pilots are exceptionally skilled and trained. With that exception, yeah, that's pretty much spot on considering the difference in pilot skill/training between nations with the F-15C (who usually have the money to burn on training and similar/disimilar ACM) and nations that use the Su-30 series (who generally don't). The Su-30 may be be more advanced that the F-15C, but have that Eagle flown by someone who gets the kinda training the US or Indian pilots get and all bets are off!
  6. I dunno about Razor... seems kinda :ghey: You know, like whey it was decided that the Su-37 should be renamed the Terminator and everyone in the defence industry kinda chortled
  7. Lest we forget

Happy ANZAC day lads! I'm all ready to raise a pint in respect.
  8. I have the shadows at max and I can still only see the shadow of the pilot, nothing more... Reckons I might re-install and repatch. Yup... reckons I might.
  9. WTF Is Going on in Chcago?

Are you seriously telling me you'd rather go out and pop a cap in someone's ass when it's howling out?? That's just man...
  10. GO RED WINGS!

Some days you get the bear, some days the bear gets you... Just wasn't the bear's day today
  11. GO RED WINGS!

Go Flyers, Go Rangers! I used to be a big Canucks fan, but since they've restyled themselves after the Whalers, my interest went back east.
  12. That's what I was thinking. There have been times when I've lined up an enemy and fired thinking I'd had a IRM or something cued up but instead had an armed maverick. My Mavericks have never fired at another aircraft. Not even ones on the tarmac. I've had to use standard ATA or unguided weapons to take them out. Like so (this is me hammering the trigger... but nada) Kct, are you talking about lining up an aircraft between your mav and it's target? Is that how you almost tagged your guy Fida?
  13. Yeah, but how many civilian aerodromes did they clear for it? Boxkites don't count! Seriously though, they do have a large amount of serviceable aircraft. A lot of people make the mistake of underestimating the IRIAF's strength given their predominantly US based platforms and the decades of arms embargos. But they really have worked wonders in trying to duplicate what they need to maintain a fair sized air force. I'm not saying it's a world leader, but it's certainly no North Korean AF! I mean, they still have something like 20 Tomcats flying... that's no small feat.
  14. Shake it up baby, now!

Were you awake at the time Tailspin? You sure it wasn't gas dude?
  15. I've been thinking about the same thing, even been making a few butternut skins for Heinkels and B-25s. Made a St. Andrew's cross for their battle flag with the intention of using it as their decal... ...but it's too small I think. From what I read, based on the aircraft described, I got the distinct impression that the CSA 'Mules' were essentially just Ju-87s, the US Turbojets were essentially Me-262s (even down to their troublesome engines and vulnerable landings). The 'Asskickers' were pretty vague, but it gave the strong impression of a strong winged monoplane (maybe along the lines of a 109 or something Spitfire-esque). I thought he referred to the IJN planes as Zeros and the only real life plane I remember were the B-17s mentioned by Flora Blackford, on their way to strike Richmond... or something. Got no idea what the artillery spotting 'Grasshopper' was. Based on these observations, you could suggest that maybe the US aircraft industry of the day was influenced by is larger, more influential ally, the Germans. Or maybe these were just specific examples used to tell the story. Although I do like the idea of the British influences of the CSA and the possibility of CSA Spitfires and Hurricanes too. I'd be interested to see the Tsar's air force and it's technological developments (or possible lack there of...).
  16. As far as I know, you can't actually fire a Maverick at a plane in the Strike Fighters series. At least, I can't seem to on mine. I've heard you can in LOMAC and I'm pretty sure I've seen a screencap of it, but I can't quite recall... Only odd weapon I've noticed you can take out another aircraft with that you shouldn't normally be able to is an LGB.
  17. You don't like Banana's?
  18. With the huge variety of weapons available, I'm interested to so see who's packing what? Are you an SMG kind of player, running around hallways, hosing tangos down with a liberal spray of G-36C/MP5 love? Or do you work for a living, running yourself ragged craddling an assault rifle like an M-16A4 or holding your AK in the air screaming "WOLVERINES!!" or maybe you like to show that you have bigger balls than those assault gunners when you whip out your M-249 or RPD?? Or are you a cheap, lazy bastard who's kicking back with the M-60E or the Auto Shotgun with your "I'll fire in your general direction and sift through your mince later for ID tags." 'tactics'. I so very much hate these people... Personally... I don't have a weapon of choice yet. But I do believe if you pack the Uzi, you'll need to see a doctor before the end of the night about your blood pressue and that massive vein that's popping out of your forehead. :angry2:
  19. ...Is anyone else having problems with the key bindings not sticking? I'm trying to remap the toggle engines/rear view, but even after clicking 'accept', nothing seems to happen and they're returned to being unassigned. I'm thinking that it may have something to do with my copying over the older controls config file...
  20. That's good to know Wrench, cheers for the links. No, I thought I could get away with adding the new entries to the old controls config file. Doesn't look like you can... Damn!
  21. Colleges

    You graduated in BS...?
  22. Ray Winstone? Dov? LOL!
  23. It's the community that makes this game, we just hold the keys to the liquor cabinet...
  24. LOMAC Reality Check

The carriers are very nice in LOMAC though! The Kuznetsov is a ball to fly from. And having a Su-33 trap on the Kittyhawk is odd looking, but fun.
  25. LOMAC Reality Check

Not that I wanna sound to like I'm towing the Flanker agenda, but the Flanker is superior to the Eagle in lots of areas. Only problem is that it's all out of context in LOMAC. In a 1v1 fight between similarly trained pilots, the Flanker should be getting a better than 1:1 kill rate if only because it's design was learn from the developments on the F-15 and improve on its characteristics. However, when you bring Russian missiles, AWACS, avionics, pilot training etc into the equation, the Su-27 is still on par with the F-15 and this should not be the case if one is keeping things as true to life as possible. The differences between the two teams and their toys in LOMAC isn't bad. There'll always be trainspotters claiming the stats are off (not directing that at you Phantom! ). But when you play Flaming Cliffs, you'll see R-27s with comparable operational (and success) profiles to the Aim-120s which should definitely NOT be he case. The R-73s reminded me of the QAAM missiles from Ace Combat with their lethality in FC (particularly with reduced the missile effectiveness bar lowered) and this is not to mention the US weapons systems seemingly being much less effective and more prone to spoofing. Doing what I do to get an Aim-7 kill in LOMAC results in a much lower kill rate which for me was somewhere in the vicinity of 4/10, as opposed to around 7/10 in LOMAC. I just got the distinct vibe that the US weapons systems were neutered somewhat whilst Russian systems were a bit too effective. And I love the Russian toys, but it just seemed a lot easier for them in FC. And people online seem to think its the differences seem to stem Russian dev team of FC. I hope this isn't the case as it would imply that there'll be two new types of Sim in the future, one based on effective US weapons systems and one based on effective Russian ones...
