Nuclear Bomb
SayethWhaaaa replied to Basher11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
That depends. What are you looking to do? Are you looking to take an existing weapon and give it what is effectively a nuclear warhead? -
Is anyone building a B2?
SayethWhaaaa replied to snapper 21's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
If you ever need to find out what's being worked on and by who, enter WoI/WoE/WoV/Project-1 Mods & Skinning Chat and look for the sticky (here)"The Mods Thread" anything that someone's announced they're working on for the SF Project (all the Wings Over titles) will be listed in here. Read through what's there and you'll have a good idea on who's who and what's what. REMEMBER!!! The last post in the thread will always be the most up to date one! -
Does this game have multiplayer?
SayethWhaaaa replied to TheOpposition's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
There aren't any servers set up specifically per se, however there are servers set up from time to time by players or you can connect to other players via hamachi and other similar programs. StreakEagle used to have a WoV server set up on Hyper Lobby for example and I've played several other members from here (CA) on that (although there are some issues with it and Aussie users from some reason). I've spoken to a local ISP here that hosts other games and in theory setting one up shouldn't be a problem for us here in Oz, but I don't know what kind of lag issues there would be for anyone outside of Oz. I also haven't seen any WOI games online either, so I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or not. -
Does that process use a standard KC-135/10/whatever or is it a specialised aircraft?

watch out! MF's Mirage 2000 is out!
SayethWhaaaa replied to Silverbolt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Bastardo! I fell for that too! -
Amen brother! The BOP and the K'vort were great! I used to be a big fan of the Romulans and their Warbird, although, it was ugly as sin when viewed in any way other than from directly in front! For me, my fave Federation ship... hard to pick. I like the utilitarian, purposeful lines of the TMP ships like the Connie and the Miranda. But then there are TNG ships like the Nebula and the revised Excelsior that are just damn fine! And then there's the Klingon Neg'var and the Dominion DNs/BBs... If pressed for an answer, I'll go with the Galaxy-X...

F-111X need help
SayethWhaaaa replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
I gotta say, I dig it with the stabilisers under the engine and the IRST looking wart under it's snout, but not the canards for some reason . But hey, different strokes for different folks! Nevertheless, it's good stuff Blackbird! '2 weeks'? -
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23458556-2,00.html What a champ! I'd buy this guy a round or three...

I wonder what the Gripen would look like with canards... Hmmmm. -
F-18Fs for RAAF confirmed
SayethWhaaaa replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
I'd heard that too. In fact (not to bash Boeing or anything) I'd heard that they were starting to panic about the lack of export sales at one point that they were offering 1 for 1 trades to export customers, specifically Malaysia and then eventually us as well. I wonder why that didn't go through, that is, I wonder what scotched it, other than losing a crapload of $ on 1 for 1 trades for 70+ legacy Hornets... Because initially the idea was to only replace around half the fleet with Superduds, wasn't it? -
Looks like one of the women I used to play ice hockey with. On the ice, she was all snarls and claws... Best damned defender I've 'acidentally' been drilled into the boards by.

Hi!, New to SF 1
SayethWhaaaa replied to TheOpposition's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You can change this at any time though, if you'd prefer some Mig on Mig action. That reminds me, I've got to add some enemy F-4s! -
F-18Fs for RAAF confirmed
SayethWhaaaa replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
Sounds like the United Airlines flight I took from New York to Toronto in 2K6. The Captain's excuse was something like a sudden downdraft seconds before touchdown. Yeah... I believe it. Pigsy, is that a confirmed skin for the Superdud? I remember seeing something similar (almost identical) on the cover of the Oz Aviation mag a couple months back... -
Ooh... purdy! I had one this size when I was a kiddo back in the 80s that fell afoul of a german sheppard pup... :cray:

"Wings Over" series
SayethWhaaaa replied to eliahu2006's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
^^That was a very clear and rational approach... don't you know 'clear' and 'rational' are banned from this site?? Eliahu, you'll get a good experience from any of them, however, after you visit places like the Mirage Factory, Capun's skunkworks, Column5 and so on, you'll find a serious ammount of downloads, maps, aircraft, campaigns etc that you can apply to any of the games making them much different to what you get "outta the box" as it were. If you can only get one at the moment, fret not as you can get some fan made maps of Europe, Israel, Dhimar/Parahn (from Strike Fighters) and a sort of substitute for the other games, although I'm not sure if there's a fan made South East Asia terrain. From a technical standpoint though, at the moment, WOI is the most advanced/refined of the games but there'll patches for the others real soon to bring them all up to the same standard. -
G.Day yes another newbie!

Hey Sandgroper, welcome to CA champ! -
32oz Miller Lite?? LITE?! I dunno... sounds like you're on the train to Nannaville... The turning point will be if we see a crochet skin for the site. That's when we'll know there needs to be a coup.

Where's the Carrier?
SayethWhaaaa replied to SJPhantom's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
...also, if you look in the knoweldge base, yeah, you'll see the instructions on how to add a carrier to the game. But more importantly, you can add this carrier to any SFP game (SF/WOV/WOE/WOI). -
The Balance of Power in the Southern Hemisphere
SayethWhaaaa replied to Stick's topic in Military and General Aviation
You know... I remember a time when he knew his s**t and it wasn't that long ago. He and Peter Goon do have a vast knowledge on the subjects of the F-111, long range strike but when it comes to the subject of 'regional threats', best to plug in your ipod. I've sat in on a couple of lectures/presentations when I used to work in Canberra, but hearing him talk in private, I realised that this man has his head up his arse, and I mean that with all due respect. The anti china stance I can deal with because China does have that polarising effect on people, but it's completely irrelevant to the situation here in Oz. And his opinion of Indonesia doesn't seem to be very high or justified. From what I saw, he has an almost fanatical faith in the pig which I think is unfounded iven it's age and it's operational usage. He firmly believes (at least he did at one point) that having the F-22/F-111 combination is the best OCA/DCA/Strike mix for the RAAF and if you disagree with that, then "you're just plain wrong". Now, it'd be a good combination but it's very much out of context with what we can afford, what we are able to purchase, what could ably meet future threats etc. I dunno, i got the impression of a trainspotter overall. Much like I'm sounding now! -
Now admittedly, this article is a little bit of a beat up as this website (and it's associated papers) has shown little, if any knowledge of defense matters in the past... ...but when your government is looking to shave something like 10 billion of defense force 'fat' and redirect it back to the ADF in more efficient and effective ways, the last thing that anyone wants to see is this... http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23426041-421,00.html Take the $100mil for fighters off that tally toward the end (the Aud $4 billion one) since we're already buying the fighters. No need to count them twice...

Well having a carrier wouldn't necessarily be so bad in that it would make airborne and integrated ops between the services much easier and more flexible. Sending aircraft and personnel overseas is a complicated and expensive process and there are many situations that would favour carrier ops over land based ones. The UK has shown this to be the case with light fleet carriers and they've been a very effective tool. In all likelihood, only one of the new Canberra class flatdecks would possibly be used as a part time carrier in the same vein as the USMC/Navy 'Harrier carriers', but this is totally dependent on the M.O.D. buying STOVL variants... but it's pretty unlikely that we'd have a part time carrier for our overseas commitments. It's an interesting article considering there was another story on the ABC News site today about Minister Fitzgibbons still probing US officials to see about possibly buying F-22s. Because that makes sense; Trimming down defence waste by buying a different type of stealth fighter that's almost double the price... Oh, and Panjilucu, why would we be offended dude? Indonesians, Malaysians, Kiwis, Aussies... we all rock! We live in the best neighborhood on the planet!

Chuck Norris' Rice Bubbles don't go "snap, crackle pop". They just sit in the packet and say "Shhhh, here he comes!"

Anyone up for a bit of a long weekend shootout at Deuce's B&G sometime this weekend? It's been a while and would be a bit of fun to catch up will you all... ...and of course there'll be dick jokes.

You guys at AGV has sweet maps too! Kabar made me his biotch on the Rock simply because I was admiring the view and I was retracing the route of the tour I took there back in 2k6!

Amen brother!! A pox on the hoppers!
