Algeria to return Russian MiG jets opting for French Rafale fighters instead?
SayethWhaaaa replied to BUFF's topic in Military and General Aviation
Ooh, my apologies. I thought I read in there an implication that it was relative to shoddy construction (a complaint that's been levelled at Mig once before). I must've leapt to that conclusion. My bad! -

It's a shame to hear that RAC Mig have delivered shoddy copies again to another foreign customer. Not exactly building up a great rep overseas! Interesting fact, when the decision was made to purchse the Mig-29, the chiefs of the Algerian AF were disappointed in the large purchase of Mig-29s and minimal purchase of the Rafale as they'd apparently decided that the way to go was French, but the government opted to go Russian as a means of covering some of their debt. -

2618? Is that just the ATA version or both? -
I found myself with an odd situation when I bought my copy. It came with a 10 day (30?) demo so as to "pass along to a friend" which I think it said on the cover. So buddy of mine borrowed it but the day after he grabbed it from me, his DVD drive went tits up. So knowing it was gonna be a couple of weeks before he could get his new one in and seeing his girlfriend waiting in the wings all ready to subject him to all six seasons of Sex in the City, he started applying nocd fixes to his installed games so as to not be bored out of his mind. When he applied it to the trial disc that came with mine, he found that it wasn't a trial at all, but the full version!! I think it took about a week for the grin to leave his face. He dodged the Sex in the City bullet and scored a new game in one hit! GO YOU LITTLE AUSSIE!!

You're not wrong, the F-111 for this series is mustard! But if you want that sense of speed at low levels, try zooming out when you're in the cockpit and you'll find the landscape appears to move faster. This might help you to avoid hitting anything with increased time progression... -
Yeah, Hard Light's the place to go for FS2 mods. Check out the Wing Commander mod too. Its gold!

Holy crap that's awesome! Go Jimmy! Something that caught my eye was one of the attacker's names. Paul Perry is the name of one of my best mates who I've known since high school!

It's okay, despite being colonial riff raff, we'll forgive you for being a pom. (and because you're a Spad fan!)

Hehe, no Cypress Hill as in "Insane in the Membrane" and "Hits from the Bong", hiphop. She was difinitely going to be at Uni until ten. I asked her mates... Good, didn't think I was bein unreasonable.

Not to be a wet blanket, but my GF turned into a total valentinzilla yesterday!! I organised all the romantic stuff during the day to be delivered to her office (although the lazy driver was about 3 hours late with it!) and was being sweet and romantic for her on this hallmar—I mean valentine’s day (despite the fact that ot's so mushy and sickening! ). Anyways, she was going to be at Uni until about ten pm, so I figured “Sweet, Cypress Hill are playing Radelaide tonight, I’ll head over with a couple of the lads and check hem out. I’ll be home before she is. But noooooo… someone had a huge s**tfit because I was going to see Cypress, even though she can't stand them. Can I gauge some responses from you guys? Was I screwing up or was she being unreasonable??

Colombia buys 24 Israeli jet fighters
SayethWhaaaa replied to BUFF's topic in Military and General Aviation
I know the BGAF also fly these, but they have a different designation for them... -
I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. My gf goes a bit bunta (apesh..) if I don't shave. I have to deal with flailing arms coming at me and that ain't easy to deal with! It's my buddha given right to grow crap facial hair!!

Those C10s are pretty badass for a 30yr old design/airframe. Just because they're from the 70s, don't expect them to have only steam gages and freefall bombs... -
Soviet incursion into Japanese airspace

Umm... Gents, they haven't been Soviet for a shade under 16 years now... -
^^That's about where I'm at. Kinda makes me wonder if these "accidents" some extremists are having are really just suicides because someone in their organisation has come up to them and said something like "Hey, you know what we should do! Hamas has this propaganda mouse... WE SHOULD DO IT TOO!! You'd play a giant mouse brilliantly!" They last thing either of them would hear would be "...clic--BOOM!!"

Air launch missiles
SayethWhaaaa replied to Brainless's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've done roughly 300kms (not sure what it is in imperial) once by taking off, going vertical and leveling out at roughly 50-55000 ft and launching from around 20kms from my airbase. I'll try it again, see if I can get some screenies. The trick is that the terrain has to be flat since the missiles will fire directly at the target. They won't fly nap of the earth or otherwise make adjustments in their trajectory. AFAIK, only Mavericks(and other LGMs) and LGBs will track their targets assuming you have an onboard or bolt on designator. LGBs will even track aircraft! -
Been noticing lately that, in servers that have close to 20 players per side, I've been needing to refer back to this to deal with the punks from time to time...

I like the carier ops of LOMAC, but the game is far too rigid for my tastes. I like the flexibility of the TW series. I mean, is there an F-22 for LOMAC?? -
I am absolutely down for this... but by Friday nights, what time zone are you in?
