And AC4 was Distant Thunder here (PAL-Australasia/Euro/whoever else) but Shattered Skies in the US... Does anyone ever remember playing the arcade version called CAP-22?? I remember playing it around '93/'94. You only had three choices, F-22/Su-27 and I think the A-10. It was amazing see the level of detail involved as you shoot up a B-52 from behind only to see parts of the plane, schrapnel, flaps etc come flying at you.

I've read that guy's blog too and there are a couple of statements that are either inaccurate or not particularly objective. He doesn't have a particularly high opinion of Russian weapons technology... that much is obvious. That doesn't mean that they're crappy systems though. And I don't know where he's getting his info on Russian AAMs used in the Asia Pacific theatre (very possibly from the last Ace Combat guide maybe? ) but all I can say is "A swing and a miss."

Damn... I reckon I gotta do that now. I was going to make one about Aussies vs Kiwis, but it's hard to make a campaign for a flight sim when your enemy has no airforce to speak of. Seriously, I honestly don't understand what was going through their heads thinking that there wouldn't be any problems with having critical flight systems and the passenger LAN/WLAN on the same network??? How does the talon do it? The IRMs use the rail so does the talon drop the rail, fire, raise the rail and close the doors? Otherwise the IRM would fire through the model itself, wouldn't it?

Yeah, I'd have to go with that too. I don't see why it was necessary to gut it like it was and the Japanese storyline seemed really cool. Plus being able to swap between the factions etc sounded like a bit of a trip too! I loved three for the missions but I could never shake the feeling of not knowing why it was that I was doing what I was doing in the missions. I treated it like a futuristic arcade flightsim (and by flight sim, I mean it more like how Freespace was a sim) and had a ball with it! I loved the F/A-36 Game!

For Xmas, my girly was kind enough to score me a flight in one of these: ...as a stop gap until I get the funds together to head over to Houston and worship at the feet of Clyde Drexler, but mainly to go for joyflights in an F-4D and TA-4. To tell the truth, with Xmas, my bday and new years, that whole week is a bit of a blur... :yes: Can't wait to see what other challenges you come up with Brainless (or should you be called smartarse...? I dunno ). I won't be participating only because they seem to stimulate aggression and frustration to me since I always miss!!!

...or some little bastard with a laptop who's pissy with his mum and dad for not buying him CoD 5 or Wings Over Canada (mark my words, they're plotting!) to decide to nose dive the plane into the ocean or something.
